This venue is misleadingly small and has multiple hidden fees. You HAVE to use their caterer that starts at 5k with another 1k for lighting and the venue starts at 15k. This does not include gratuity and service charges. On top of that you only get the venue for 5 hours. Insane.
Sherman Gardens gave us the wedding of our dreams. The idyllic garden, fairy lights, and seasonal florals were the perfect backdrop for our special day. We have gotten so many compliments about the beauty of the site. It was cozy, intimate, and a true OC gem. It also will be a special place for my husband and I to visit on each anniversary!
The staff at Sherman Library was absolutely amazing. So professional, so on top of everything, and multiple guests commented on how fantastic the vendors were throughout. Highly impressed, they helped make the day perfect, and we couldn't be happier with them.
My husband and I love this little garden in Corona Del Mar and it turned out to be a spectacularly beautiful location for a wedding and reception. We wanted something that would be not only lovely but comfortable for our families and friends. This locale suited us perfectly.
There is a brides room area where my step daughters, sisters and I prepared. The whole courtyard surround the room was picturesque. My photographer took full advantage of the features at Sherman Gardens to create fabulous memories.
The ceremony location is truly unique with the fountain in the middle. Our florist brought in an archway and covered it with flowers, creating a magical space. The guest, then retired to the lawn for cocktails to listen to a contemporary string quartet, while my husband and I took advantage of the numerous photo opportunities throughout the grounds. The Pascal Catering folks and the Sherman garden folks were fabulous. The food was divine. I have never had such wonderful wedding food before. It was even more delicious that during our tasting. My husband and I and quite a number of our relatives have food allergies and sensitivities and Pascal catering addressed them all. The whole meal was gluten and dairy free and fabulous!
The reception hall space was delightful. The staff had helped decorate it and it was more beautiful and inviting than I could have imagined. It was just a perfect day.
I can not speak highly enough of this venue, the food and the staff. I would choose Sherman gardens again in a heartbeat.
When we first looked at places for our reception, we settled on 3 places to look at. Sherman Gardens beat the other two right out of the water. The space is gorgeous (especially the succulent garden) and so full of places to explore that the guests really loved. Even if it was hard to work with the employees of the garden (which it wasn't), I would have kept with it because of how amazingly gorgeous the gardens are. However, everyone was extremely easy to work with. Sherman Gardens works with Pascal's for catering and Will Have Dessert for cake so we didn't need to worry about catering. Patti, who works for Pascal's, became like a wedding planner for me, giving me ideas and reminding me that she will take care of it and I didn't need to worry about it. She was amazing. Also, I got to store things in the brides room a couple days before the wedding so that set up would be easy (although Sherman Gardens does most of the setting up anyway). A couple months before the wedding we had a dinner and cake tasting. We chose 4 different hors d'oeuvres that were passed around during cocktail hour. We chose for dinner a choice of halibut (OH MY GOSH SO AMAZING) or pork. And for cake we chose the lemon-lime cake. Best. Cake. Ever. The reception went so smoothly. Plenty of guests explored the gardens. Some played bocce ball. Some roasted smores. Everyone, even my grandpa, danced. It was a perfect evening. The food was perfect. The location was perfect. The cake was to die for. And it made our wedding a dream come true. Many of my friends have told me it was the best wedding that they have ever been to. And Sherman Gardens and Patti had a lot to do with it!
Lovely place to get married. They recently extended their curfew from 9 pm to 10 pm which is really nice as well.
I had envisioned myself marrying my boyfriend at in these gardens for years, so I was so happy that we were able to get married here! Every garden is beautiful. They're well-maintained and show how personal the care is. The women who were in charge of booking the space and coordinating the event were nice, but very hands-off. I spoke to one on the phone, but didn't realize there would be two (or any) coordinators onsite until the rehearsal. I assumed we'd only deal with the catering manager and whichever staff was around. In the future, this should be made clear to people ahead of time. I took away 1 star because of the miscommunication. The venue is also expensive- you have to have a certain level of membership in order to book the venue. The catering (I'll review them separately) was sneakily expensive, but the food was great. It was all worth it, but having a wedding here requires a lot of money!!
Initially, my husband and I wanted to get married in the desert. We loved the idea of an outdoor wedding with lots of cactus succulents. Unfortunately, these specifications were hard to come by in the Coachella Valley area and were not to the degree of cleanliness or elegance we preferred. Months went by and still no venue. My mother visited her favorite gardens by the beach, Sherman Library & Gardens. This beautiful and various garden proved to be the perfect spot for us to tie the knot. Traditionally, the gardens' patrons chose to get married in the tea garden accompanied by rose bushes and a fountain, but we had our hearts set on the gorgeous and creative cactus garden down the eclectic steps to the left. The cactus garden proved to be the perfect setting for our vintage inspired desert wedding. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Initially, we had a wedding coordinator at the beginning of the planning journey that was less than capable as a wedding planner. Luckily, that lady left and we were lucky to have Sarah. She helped me tremendously throughout the experience. She is wonderful. Sherman Library and Garden has always been a favorite place to visit, but now it's more than just a garden, its home to the start of our lives together, memories and friends.
Sherman Library & Gardens is so elegant. My husband and I fell in love with the place as soon as we saw it. Our guests were overwhelmed by how charming the grounds were. Our wedding was 2 months, and I'm still hearing about how perfect the site was. It's set up with many intimate areas, with tons of gorgeous flowers. Very well kept. Absolutely check out this garden. At the very least, it can be a romantic little date with your fiance to escape the chaos of venue shopping.
Intimate but fantastic garden setting;could be a bit noisy from traffic
The scenery was great. Location was central to everyone. It provided the intimacy I wanted. They were willing to work around our needs.;You can only use their preferred caterer. Set up was short as they are open to the public and a small space.
