This historic building gives Sherwood Gardens an unmatchable sense of grandeur. Originally built in 1903, the home boasts an elegant white exterior. Dormer windows and an elaborate porch take guests right back to early 20th-century sophistication. Inside, the mansion is fully equipped with all the necessities. Couples and their guests can enjoy a comfortable stay during their wedding weekend. Hardwood floors and modern furnishings create a cozy, contemporary vibe. Antique furniture can be found in some of the rooms, hinting at the house’s grand past. The newlyweds can continue their exciting next chapter in the peace and privacy of the Carriage House. This lovely vacation home makes for a warm and welcoming honeymoon suite. On the big day, Sherwood Gardens is bursting with possibilities. Soon-to-be-weds can plan a charming ceremony in the great outdoors. Afterwards, the Event Barn & attached Pavilion offers an enchanting setting for wedding celebrations. Elegant drapery and string lighting create a dreamy effect. The barn is defined by original wooden features and concrete flooring. Combined with romantic decor, the space feels intimate and inviting. There is room for up to 150 guests on the main floor with additional seating upstairs. This allows soon-to-be-weds to go all out with their guest list. There is also space for a band and a dance floor, encouraging lively celebrations all night long.
The team at Sherwood Gardens is more than happy to help plan a destination wedding. They will help you design a unique celebration of your wonderful milestone. The venue has all the basics for a memorable weekend. The main house features five bedrooms, a large kitchen, a library, and more. There will be plenty of space for your wedding party to make themselves at home. Two nights of accommodation are included in the venue rental.

I loved using the room with all of the windows for hair/makeup. We had about 95 guests and it was a bit crammed in the barn during the reception. We hoped to utilize the outside area more but it was too cold that night (October 7th). I wish we would have had more room for the dance floor but it wasn’t a big issue. I also wish I would have been made aware earlier where the dj would have to be set up (we weren’t told until check in on Friday) because we had to rearrange our intended layout last minute which messed up guest table placement and our seating chart. Overall, I highly recommend this venue!

de us feel at ease with our new plans for a 1st Wedding anniversary reception. The barn inside was clean and had plenty of tables for our needs. The grounds were large and had lots of neat nooks for photo opportunities. We really loved the use of the beautiful farm house where we hosted family and got ready for our big event. We also rented the unique honeymoon suite across the street. It was Very nice!

plenty of time before the wedding to set up and a day after to take it all down. We were able to have our entire wedding party and significant others stay in the house which made for a fun weekend with friends instead of just one day. The grounds are beautiful and have a variety of spots to take pictures. Myself and the bridesmaids got ready in the house and the guys across the street in the carriage house, which made it easy to gather everyone on site yet keeping us seperate until the ceremony. Kathy was wonderful to work with. She was very accommodating, responsive, and flexible in meeting our needs. We did the ceremony outside (with an inside option in case of rain) and the reception in the barn. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a great wedding venue in Southwest Michigan!! I absolutely love the style of the barn and having enough room on the grounds to be able to set up a few outdoor games. There is so many different places to take pictures on the grounds as well! Kathy was wonderful to work with and very accommodating and very quick to respond with any questions you have! I definitely recommend Sherwood gardens!

entire weekend is what makes it so special. We were able to set-up the day before and clean-up the day after. We held our rehearsal dinner the night before on the patio and it worked out perfect - especially with covid limiting other options. My bridesmaids and I stayed the night in the house and we got ready there the next day. Kathy was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. We really can’t say enough great things about Sherwood Gardens!
