Shining Star Band

Jodi was an absolute delight to work with, always responding very quickly and made me feel like everything would be handled perfectly (and it was). They kept everybody dancing and singing all night long which is all we really wanted. I truly could not recommend them more highly, they are exceptional!!

one that has ever planned a wedding knows there are so many important decisions that go into planning the perfect event. My husband is a musician, so among the most important of the decisions we had to make was finding a band that would entertain, energize and inspire our guests... We envisioned a party where guests would be on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG. We chose Shining Star to play at our reception and it was truly one of the best decisions we made about our wedding. Jodi Light was extremely warm, friendly, caring and really listened to our wish to create an evening filled with upbeat dance music featuring our favorites such as Motown, top 40 hits, the 80s, etc. Both Jodi and Kenny have incredible voices and all of the other musicians were so talented as well. One of the things I loved the most is that I could tell that the Shining Star band really enjoys playing together. Its evident that they love their job as they almost had as much fun performing as we did dancing to their music!!!! Working with Jodi and Shining Star was a true pleasure and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who is hiring a band for a special event. We had about 250 people at our wedding and the huge dance floor was packed the entire evening, so much so that several people told me they barely ate that night since they didn't want to miss out on the action on the dance floor. People were even dancing on the carpet since there was no room on the dance floor :) My husband has been playing the drums since he was 9 years old and his best friend is a professional musician. Shining Star was extremely gracious and allowed them to jam together to one of their favorite tunes at the reception. It was so memorable as they started playing music together over 20 years ago and had a chance to play together again in front all of our family and friends. I could go on and on about Shining Star!! Several of our guests asked where we flew them in from as many of them knew how important the band was to us. When we told our guests Shining Star was local/based in Phoenix, they were thrilled and a few asked me for their contact information for future events. In conclusion, if you are looking for a talented, fun, upbeat, energetic band, look no further than Shining Star. I give them the highest of endorsements and would hire them in an instant if I could do it all over again!!

ary! From setting the mood as our guests entered, to playing dinner music, and then getting the party started on the dance floor, they were spot-on. Jodi was great both as a vocalist as well as an MC, and we had guests coming up all night to tell us how great our band was. Their extensive song list and adherence to our "please play" and "please don't play" requests were outstanding and our guests stayed on the dance floor all night long. I would highly recommend The Shining Star Band for any wedding or event!
