g reviews, following her on Instagram, and having a first-hand experience of a great haircut (which may sound lame, but I have super fine and thinning hair, so someone making feel pretty with a haircut means a lot to me), I decided to book her for hair and makeup for my wedding. Shirley is so sweet and so patient. I often get nervous being vocal with professional about things I do and don’t like, but Shirley made me feel so, so comfortable. We did trial hair and make up a few months before the wedding. For my trial, I went with a low bun. We started with a bigger bun, but just to try it out, Shirley took the whole thing out and redid it with a smaller bun. This gave me so much confidence that if she could do a whole up-do, take it down, and redo a completely different look in the hour-long trial, she could do anything on the actual wedding day. Fast forward to the big day and I’ve decided I want to do a high bun (rather than a low bun like we did for the trial). Shirley made it happen, no questions asked. I didn’t love it at first, but we made some tweaks and overall it looked stunning. My bridal make-up was also absolutely gorgeous (not to sound braggy, but people are still complementing how beautiful I looked months later, which really feels good), and my bridesmaids couldn’t have been happier with their looks. Shirley checks ALL the important boxes and some. She’s on time; you can text with her which is very convenient; she put together a schedule for the day based on the complexity of the hairdo’s my bridal party wanted; she’s super quick; reasonable pricing (especially for NJ!); and most importantly, she is phenomenal at her job. I could go on and on. Shirley is amazing and I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone for wedding hair, everyday haircut, makeup – you name it!

calming presence and is punctual, which helped made my wedding day stress-free! There was a total of 9 women in my bridal party, including myself who needed to get their hair done. This was originally a job for two hairstylists, but the second was unable to come due to sickness. But talented as she is, Shirley managed to style our hair on her own without a sweat! I chose a specific hairstyle for each bridesmaid, and she was able to make each one a reality. I especially loved my updo, she made me look like my best self. ture haircuts. I was pleasantly surprised to find out she offered bridal services. After my trial with her, I knew she would be the perfect fit. She was so patient with my mom and I as we tried to decide on the exact look I wanted on my big day. Prior to my big day, I communicated with Shirley via email and she was very responsive. She provided me with an estimated amount of time she would need to get everyone ready which helped a lot in organizing my timeline for the day. On the day of the wedding, Shirley was on time and ready to get to work! Unfortunately, her assistant was not available as she was sick so for a second I did worry this would throw off my timeline. But, nope! Shirley worked non-stop from the time she arrived getting my hair and makeup done along with that of 4 bridesmaids. She did take some breaks to laugh with us as we watched "Love is blind" haha. She worked well with all our different hair types and skin tones (we were a diverse group of bridesmaids). And in the end we were all happy with the results!

The day of the wedding, she was on time. Nothing ever felt rushed as she did my mom's, 3 bridesmaids, and my hair and makeup, and hair for my 3 flower girls from 6am to about 1pm. Her assistant was a big help to her. I was very happy with how everyone came out. My makeup stayed put until the very end of the night. My curls did not fall. Shirley did such a great job and I highly recommend her to anyone in the area.

From communication, to setting up the contract, the Bridal Trial, and then they day of working on the Bridal Party. It was all amazing, she is quick and talented. The make up was gorgeous, it was natural looking, and complimentary. The application was smooth, I didn't worry about a thing, she is very sensitive to what you want and are envisioning. The hair styling was perfect, all I had to do was show her a picture and she got it right on. If it hadn't been for Shirley I don't believe I would have gotten the look that I wanted. My now husband had concerns and when he looked at my for the first time on our wedding day, he said this is you. Her team was very punctual and we all got done in time for pre-ceremony photos! I loved my hair and makeup. I just got the photos back and everyone looked so beautiful. My cheekbones have never been more defined. Foundation color was accurate (I'm always worried my face will be made too light, but this was not the case) and the eyelash extensions were included! Bonus: Shirley also helped my party take some boomerang photos and sent them to us.

I was trying really hard to find a makeup artist that could accommodate lots of different skin tones and I’m glad I chose Shirley after doing some research and seeing her Instagram. My style and makeup lasted perfectly through a hot day and hours on the dance floor, right until I washed it out at 3AM! Also, she worked quickly and efficiently so I didn't have to spend hours in a chair. My maids looked gorgeous too and were all very pleased with their look. I even got my mum to have her hair and makeup done; she is tough to please but she loved it as well! Can't recommend Shirley and her team enough!
