What an incredible cruise we had for my son's rehearsal dinner on the Adirondac! The food, service and ambiance were fabulous, and some even said it rivaled many weddings they've a...
ttended. It was worth every penny. It was a wonderful experience for all 99 guests.
Disclaimer: I did not end up having my wedding on one of the Shoreline boats. I did, however, fully intend to if I was ever lucky enough to receive a response from their wedding p...
lanner. I started off in contact with a wedding planner in July of 2021, intending to have my wedding aboard the Adirondac in June of 2022. I had to call and email twice within the span of a week to establish initial contact, but once their wedding planner finally contacted me back she was perfectly helpful and we were able to set up a tour of both of their boats. We ran final pricing and a few days later I contacted the wedding planner with our estimated headcount and asked for a contract to be drawn up; radio silence. I reached out multiple times throughout the week, to no avail. Finally, over 2 weeks after I had requested a final contract, I was emailed by apparently the new wedding planner asking for details of our wedding as she was getting onboarded at the new position (the same details we had already given the first wedding planner, who apparently left the company with no notice given to us). I was frustrated by the lack of professionalism on Shoreline's end but decided to give the new wedding planner a chance as the turnover was not her fault. I re-hashed out all the details over the next few days and eventually asked for a contract to be created for us; once again, radio silence. I followed up with the new planner multiple times through email and voicemail, getting no response. Finally, we were able to get a hold of the boat coordinator who informed us that the latest wedding planner was no longer with them. We asked to be referred to the next wedding planner, and never received a callback. At this point we decided it was time to ditch the venue, as it was a big red flag that a wedding venue would have such high turnover with planners. I had also never experienced people so unresponsive and unwilling to take my (not small amount of) money . I think I'm technically still waiting for a callback from this company..
Plus side: the Adirondac is a very pretty boat and I'm sure the day of event would have been lovely with the beautiful views of lake george in a 360 degree platform. If they can figure out their staffing issue I'm sure this company could be a beautiful and unique location to tie the knot.
Before we begin this review we need to provide some history of our wedding plans. We booked our wedding with Shoreline in 2018 with a Sept 2020 wedding in mind. Due to COVID this h...
ad to be pushed to Aug 2021. With this being said in the time from 2018-2020 we went through 6 wedding planers from the company some which were great and responsive others who were not responsive at all. All we can say is that if you are planning a wedding more than a year out make sure you get the following clarifications outlined:
1. What do they mean by when you put down your deposit that your pricing is fixed. We paid our deposit in 2018 and when we went to make some tweaks to some packages that were outlined in our original agreed to pricing sheet, they wanted to use the most current years pricing. Thats not how the contract reads.
2. What is the pricing for children and kids under 21. They dont clearly outline this and depending on their mood they may decide to charge you for an adult even though they cant consume alcohol.
3. When choosing food they wanted to charge us more for some appetizers because the 2021 pricing says they are more than what we agreed to in 2018.
4. After paying a date change fee due to COVID which is acceptable in our eyes they wanted to raise prices on the alcohol packages as well as the food because it was 3 years later. Thats not what is written in the contract.
5. When they say in the contract that you get 5 parking spots for your guests or your party to use to set up you may get 1 if they feel like it and you may be lucky to be able to keep your car there.
6. Even though it is outlined in the contract that you get 2 hours to set up this is also another item that they decide how much time based on their mood.
On to the better part of this review:
The day before our wedding we found out we got a new wedding planner all together. Even though they were brand new Amelia was extremely responsive and helpful with getting things settled and questions answered since the last planner had departed. The other person that was a huge help both the day before and during the entire wedding is the boat coordinator Robin. She deserves a huge shout out as without her our wedding would not have gone smoothly from behind the scenes.
All in all the wedding venue aboard the Adirondac was amazing as a venue to be able to tour Lake George while you tie the knot, but if you are planning a wedding way in advance like we did this is a venue that needs specific items answered in writing.
I cannot even begin to explain how PERFECT our wedding was aboard the Adirondac. This was a destination wedding for us and Lexi handled everything and answered all my questions qui...
