I travel constantly. I’ve stayed in some of the top resorts across the country, and I’ve seen luxury in all its forms, but nothing, and I mean nothing, has ever hit the mark like Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica.

in, everything was seamless, polished, and effortlessly perfect. This place doesn’t just meet expectations, it blows right past them. The property is stunning, the rooms are a dream, and every corner of the hotel oozes comfort, style, and intention.
But here’s what really sets Shutters apart: the people.
To the management team, whatever you’re doing behind the scenes, it’s working. The culture you’ve created is world-class. And to the entire staff, from the front desk and concierge to housekeeping, servers, bartenders, and valet, thank you. Every single interaction was genuine, warm, and professional. It’s rare to see a team that not only performs flawlessly, but actually seems to love what they do. That energy? It’s contagious — and it made my stay unforgettable.
The food was on point, the cocktails were legit, and that view of the Pacific? Unreal. Sitting on my balcony at sunset, drink in hand, I realized something: this is the kind of place you don’t forget.
Shutters isn’t just a five-star hotel. It’s an experience. It raised the bar for me, and I don’t say that lightly.

Our first time here and will be the only place we stay when in Santa Monica / Venice.
Such incredible staff. The facilities were superb and the food at Coast restaurant was phenomenal. Have a look out for their Mon-Thurs Happy hour!

We had an incredible stay at Shutters Santa Monica. Anthony at the front desk went above and beyond—he saw that I was recovering from recent spine surgery and graciously upgraded us to an amazing room. His kindness truly made our day better.

ll of the staff were warm, thoughtful, and attentive, making sure every part of our stay felt special. The rooms are beautifully laid out, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the views of the pier, ocean, and strand can’t be beat.
The location is perfect, poolside was fun and relaxing, and considering all of the amenities and service, the price was very fair. It truly felt like a vacation from start to finish. Highly recommend Shutters!

Outstanding! I finished a bike ride along Route 66 so it was great to walk 1/2mile to Shutters. There are plenty of food options in the area but the hotel restaurant serves light appetizers and drinks in the lobby (in addition to regular servic...
e). The front desk staff was so sweet. I needed to shower after I finished my ride but my husband hadn't arrived yet so they let me use the spa showers. The pool is heated which was great for the kids. It was exceptional to be so close to the beach, we were able to wander and play in the morning before any one else was there. Rooms had all the necessities and were comfortable and quiet. I'd definitely stay there anytime I'm in the area!
