But, it wasn't until getting my hair trial and then getting to have her be with me on my "getting ready" morning on my wedding day that my appreciation and admiration for her grew. She is not only an awesome stylist but just an incredible human being! She exudes kindness and has such a calming presence! My bridesmaids loved her, too! Everyone's up-dos looked incredible!!! She works with everyone until she gets their how just how they want it. Shelley also moved at an incredibly fast pace and was way ahead of schedule. I cannot rave about her enough! am normally terrified of having anyone touch my hair because I naturally have very curly hair, so I straighten it and then have it styled. Which you think wouldn't be very hard but so often people put way too much hairspray and what not but not Shelley! She literally in 10 minutes fixed what one of the hairdressers had done to my hair making me literally look like I had voluminous VS hair, I kid you not. But it gets better...when we were taking pictures Shelley noticed how uncomfortable I was with the wind blowing my beautifully tossled hair into my lip gloss and face. She took me aside and legitimately in 3-5 min before we were supposed to line up she threw my hair into the coolest side braid with a twist on the side. I received so many compliments--more than ever before! I felt awesome and not only is she great at hair she was professional and so sweet and just made my day! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone and already told her I will be using her for my wedding (knock on wood! haha).

After seeing glowing reviews and stalking her weddings on Facebook, I gave her a call to see if she was available and willing to travel to Bay Harbor, MI for my August wedding. She was so easy to talk to on the phone and she knew all of the right questions to ask. For most brides, the next step would be to schedule a trial with your hairstylist to make sure you are happy with their work (especially after just having a bad experience). Well, the kicker is that I live in Florida and there was only so many times I could make my way up to Michigan. I booked her on the spot and crossed my fingers. I also wanted extensions put in my hair before the wedding. Since I was unable to make it back up to Michigan, Shelley had to color match my hair through pictures I sent her (I know, I’m crazy). I flew up to Michigan 3 days before my wedding for Shelley to apply the extensions. So, needless to say, they needed to match or I was out of luck. They matched perfectly! Shelley traveled to Bay Harbor, MI Friday afternoon with a makeup artist, Nikoletta, that she totally put together for me. They did hair and make-up for myself and my mother-in-law for my rehearsal dinner and it was nothing short of amazing. For the wedding on Saturday, Shelley styled hair for myself, five bridesmaids and my mother-in-law. Everyone just loved her. My mother, who is not an easy woman to please, absolutely loved all of her updos and styles. She was so easy be around, very calm (which is EXTREMLY important on your wedding day) and she’s basically your psychologist for the day. I’m officially obsessed with Shelley and Nikoletta’s work. They are a KILLER team. You cannot go wrong with Shelley. I would and will recommend her to anyone and everyone!

I've worked with a lot of hair and make-up people in my line of work and let me just say this: If you want a perfect hair experience from start to finish then you want to book shelley for your wedding day (or any day). Let's start at the very beginning- Shelley is amazing at communicating. She always responded to my emails in a timely manner. For my trial, she spent hours with me making sure she understood what look I was going for, offering her expertise and trying a bunch of different looks that I was obsessed with (so much so that it made it so hard to decide which way to go!!) She then takes meticulous pictures of your hair so she can reference it on the day of the wedding! For the day of, not only did she do such an AMAZING job on my hair, but her energy and overall coolness is the EXACT type of energy you want around you on your wedding day. She's sweet, she's chill, she's fun to talk to and most importantly, she's beyond talented. She (and her team) did such an amazing job on my hair, and every bridesmaid as well as my husbands mother - ranging from up-do's to big curls to a perfect blowout and more! Another thing I love about Shelley is that she loves people who know exactly what they want and executes it perfectly (like my best friend) but is also pure perfection when you need a guidance and help deciding (like me!) I truly could not have been happier with my hair or with Shelley and I'm SO happy I found her!
