Shelley is the BEST and I am so grateful to have had her as my hairstylist on my wedding day. Not only is she professional, but also so personable - I really just enjoyed her company throughout the whole bridal process! She got up at 5am to start my hair on the big day, worked on 12 bridesmaid’s hair, stayed all day during photos to make sure I looked my best, AND then did a last minute hairstyle change right before the ceremony. I cannot thank her enough for making me feel beautiful on my wedding day!

Shelley was AMAZING!!! She was so accommodating with scheduling hair trials, and everybody in the bridal party LOVED their hair. Shelley showed up early to setup, was so fun to have around for the day, and stayed late to make sure my hair was secure with the veil before leaving for the venue. Best decision I made for my wedding weekend was hiring Shelley!! She went above and beyond to make all of my hair dreams come to life and she is AMAZING. Shelley is simply amazing!!! I cannot say enough how she was the absolute BEST pick as a hair stylist on our wedding day! I had heard of her work through friends that go to her regularly for hair cuts/coloring and had gotten to have her do my hair as a bridesmaid previously. But, it wasn't until getting my hair trial and then getting to have her be with me on my "getting ready" morning on my wedding day that my appreciation and admiration for her grew. The main word I can use to describe Shelley is--Awesome!! I was one of the bridesmaids in my best friends wedding and Shelley made the experience of getting my hair done amazing. I am normally terrified of having anyone touch my hair because I naturally have very curly hair, so I straighten it and then have it styled. Which you think wouldn't be very hard but so often people put way too much hairspray and what not but not Shelley! She literally in 10 minutes fixed what one of the hairdressers had done to my hair making me literally look like I had voluminous VS hair, I kid you not. But it gets better...when we were taking pictures Shelley noticed how uncomfortable I was with the wind blowing my beautifully tossled hair into my lip gloss and face. She took me aside and legitimately in 3-5 min before we were supposed to line up she threw my hair into the coolest side braid with a twist on the side. I received so many compliments--more than ever before! I felt awesome and not only is she great at hair she was professional and so sweet and just made my day! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone and already told her I will be using her for my wedding (knock on wood! haha).

From the hair trial to the big day - Shelley was amazing and I couldn't have been happier! She was professional, easy to talk to, and extremely talented. She could knock out any hair style picture that I showed her. I hired Shelley for myself and a few others and another salon from Traverse City for my bridesmaids and she completely blew them away. Working with Shelley was one of the best experiences throughout the planning process up until the wedding day. AMAZING! I found Shelley’s information on the Knot while scouring the internet for a hairstylist for my wedding. I had just had an awful experience with the salon that I planned on booking for hair and make-up. After seeing glowing reviews and stalking her weddings on Facebook, I gave her a call to see if she was available and willing to travel to Bay Harbor, MI for my August wedding. She was so easy to talk to on the phone and she knew all of the right questions to ask. For most brides, the next step would be to schedule a trial with your hairstylist to make sure you are happy with their work (especially after just having a bad experience). Well, the kicker is that I live in Florida and there was only so many times I could make my way up to Michigan. I booked her on the spot and crossed my fingers. I also wanted extensions put in my hair before the wedding. Since I was unable to make it back up to Michigan, Shelley had to color match my hair through pictures I sent her (I know, I’m crazy). I flew up to Michigan 3 days before my wedding for Shelley to apply the extensions. So, needless to say, they needed to match or I was out of luck. They matched perfectly! Shelley traveled to Bay Harbor, MI Friday afternoon with a makeup artist, Nikoletta, that she totally put together for me. They did hair and make-up for myself and my mother-in-law for my rehearsal dinner and it was nothing short of amazing. For the wedding on Saturday, Shelley styled hair for myself, five bridesmaids and my mother-in-law. Everyone just loved her. My mother, who is not an easy woman to please, absolutely loved all of her updos and styles. She was so easy be around, very calm (which is EXTREMLY important on your wedding day) and she’s basically your psychologist for the day. I’m officially obsessed with Shelley and Nikoletta’s work. They are a KILLER team. You cannot go wrong with Shelley. I would and will recommend her to anyone and everyone!

- I've lived in LA for over 4 years now and work in entertainment so I was a little nervous at first with finding someone in Michigan since I hadn't been back to have my hair done there in so long.... and then I found Shelley. At the beginning of every appointment for the past 7 years, Shelley has sat down with me and discussed how I'm feeling about my hair - cut, color, health, and direction for the current appointment. Shelley is absolutely INCREDIBLE! I was a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding in Michigan and first met Shelley when we visited her wonderful home for the bride's trial. She was so warm and welcoming, and the conversation just flowed naturally. I felt like I was talking to an old friend, and I wasn't even the bride! Ha! Her demeanor is so positive, and it's hard not to get excited when you're in the same room with her. She's incredibly personable and easy to talk to. She was also very attentive to what the bride was looking for with her hairstyle--asking about how she usually wears her hair, what vibe she was looking for with the wedding decor, etc. She really goes the extra mile to get to know your essential self and help you feel your best on your special day. As a bridesmaid, I had a blast looking through her beautiful photos on her social media accounts to brainstorm what I would like leading up the wedding. One word--BRAIDS. Shelley's braids are beautiful, romantic, and oh-so magical! I highly recommend browsing through all the styles she's done in the past. You're guaranteed to find something that reflects you. On the day of the wedding, Shelley arrived at the bride's home and we pretty just had a Girl Tribe Party all day. She makes everyone feel so relaxed, and I could tell she enjoyed seeing the bride in her element surrounded by her closest friends and family members. She very much felt like family that day, too. I think that's the best thing about Shelley--she carries this energy with her that is just overflowing. You can't help but soak it up!
