I want to first off by saying that I am a successful DJ that has been part of this industry for 10 years now. So when I got engaged the question out of everyone's mouth was.... who are you hiring to be your DJ! This was a difficult task I had a head of me because I have such high expectations from a DJ. However difficult people thought my decision was going to be, I already knew who I was going to hire. Just to put this into perspective... I know practically all the vendors on the first and second page of this site and I chose Jay as my DJ. That goes a looong way, because everyone including myself was expecting the best of the best at my wedding since I knew all the wedding vendors in the area. Let me be the first to tell you this man doesn't disappoint one bit. Jay provided music for our ceremony, cocktail, and reception. This also included full room uplighting for the venue. Everything was spot on and the best it could have been. I had given him specific times for the ceremony songs and when they should be played... I even stressed on the times for the intro song for the reception! Everything was flawless... as I expected from Jay. We even coordinated a point where I could DJ at my own wedding which was the icing on the cake. Don't even get me started on the song selection and energy he brought to the floor... because it was absolutely insane! He asked me before if I had a must play and do no play list for him... he expected a list from me because... I am who I am.... my response to him was "Do you thing man!"... and boy did he deliver... so people trust me when I say this have faith in this man and his ability to make your day something that you and your guests will never forget. Thank you Jay from the bottom of our hearts because you made our day absolutely incredible and something we will always treasure forever!

Jay was absolutely amazing and made our wedding perfect. From the planning meetings until the wedding day itself, Jay had exceptional attention to detail and made sure to go above and beyond for our special day. The reception music was perfect and literally everyone was up and dancing, including my grandmother! There was even someone dancing/playing the air guitar with their cane! Numerous guests complimented us on Jay's service and said it was the most fun they have ever been to. The whole night was filled with laughter and fun and I'm positive Jay played a huge part in that. Last but not least, the CO2 cannon was the perfect touch to the party. It literally made the crowd go wild and we are still talking about it! I cannot recommend Jay and his services enough. You won't regret adding the BEST dj to your best night ever!

Jay was the best and most fun DJ! My cousin had him as her wedding DJ last year and after being in that wedding I knew that I wanted him to DJ my wedding! He was so great and took our song suggestions and played awesome music all night. It was the best party ever and all of our guests agreed! We also got uplighting and a photo booth from him which were perfect! I would recommend signature sounds to every future bride and groom!

Signature sounds was great, jay is organized and responsive, even when I changed songs frequently and we had to change set up plans last minute due to the weather. So he was easily able to set up his equipment later than anticipated- in fact, as the bride, I had no idea that there was any hitch, it all went very smoothly. The lighting was great, made for awesome feel on the dance floor and great pics. Highly recommend using Signature Sounds for your wedding!

We would willingly and highly recommend Jay as a DJ. Since our son's wedding was an outdoor event, Jay came days before to check out the location. He was attentive to detail, had a good selection of music, and adjusted the volume of the sound. As a person, he is tasteful and not boisterous - a true professional, in every sense of the word. If you are looking for a wedding DJ I highly highly suggest Signature Sounds! They were recommended to us by the event manager at The Cape Club of Sharon and they helped make the night incredible. Every single request we asked was met- my husband is into more old school music and I love pop songs you can dance to. Jay from signature sounds is amazing to work with! He was booked the night of my wedding, but locked me in with a backup DJ , Derek, who was fantastic. Jay was my main point of contact through the process and was super quick to get back to me with all my questions. During our final meeting him and Derek went above and beyond to cover all aspects of our interests when it came to music. Derek was incredible the day of our wedding and helped us throw the most epic dance party exactly how we imagined it. I would highly recommend working with SignatureSounds for your wedding day!

From start to finish, Signature Sounds does not disappoint. Each meeting with Jay and George allowed us to get to know each other, learn our music tastes and what our vision was for our day. We selected DJ service, uplighting and the photo booth. We HIGHLY recommend all three services. They really listened to us and evens surprised us with music to complement our theme - movies. George did a fantastic job with the music, we loved the movie sound tracks at dinner! We had family members that haven't danced in years (medical conditions) that were up and dancing! They said they couldn't not dance to certain songs - really made us smile. We have had so many people tell me it was one of the best weddings they've ever been to! Brittany and I couldn't have been more pleased with job your staff did with the photo booth and just running the wedding in general, the timing was perfect. Also, if you are on the fence about uplighting - just go for it! It really added another level to the ballroom. These guys know what they are doing! The added bonus was the photo booth - the ladies running the booth were a delight. Our guests loved it and we were surprised with a keepsake album of all of the shots! So sweet! We chose Jay as our DJ for our wedding this August, and we are so happy that we did! He was amazing. All night long our guests were commenting on what a great job our DJ was doing. He definitely knows how to keep the party going. We had an Indian Fusion wedding, and Jay did a great job with this. We provided him with a flash drive with some Indian songs a few weeks before, and he mixed them in with his playlist. He chose the best parts of each songs and mixed everything so seamlessly that the whole night just flowed into one big dance party. I'm a shy bride and usually not a big dancer, but because of Jay I was out on the dance floor all night long and had the best night of my life. Thank you so much Jay! Our wedding would not have been the same without you. Jay also provided the uplighting and the ceremony sound system for us. He wasn't doing the music for the ceremony or cocktail hour, but still arrived early in the day to help everyone set up for the ceremony.

Jason was absolutely AMAZING! I’d give him 10 stars if I could. He truly made our wedding day the best ever!!! Our friends and family couldn’t stop talking about how great he was! He had our entire wedding, even my husbands 90 year old grandmother up and dancing! He sat down with us and really took the time to get to know us and the music we wanted played! He also did an amazing monogram that truly made the whole look of the venue complete:) Our day would not have been complete with him as our dj!

We contacted Signature Sounds on the advice of our wedding coordinator and we were so glad we did...we, along with our families and friends were absolutely thrilled with how great a job George did for our wedding. The dance floor was full all night with different groups of people dancing, all of our requests were played (including a last-of-the-night by a fairly obscure artist) and everyone had a blast. Jay was a breeze to work with and George went above and beyond for us...including stopping by our table when guests interrupted our dinner to make sure we had time to eat. As a former wedding planner, I knew that entertainment was a make or break element at any event. Choosing the right DJ was extremely important to us, as we wanted to ensure everyone had a great & memorable time. And Jay Friese from Signature Sounds did not disappoint. From start to finish, Jay made us feel comfortable and ensured us that we would be well taken care of. We met with him numerous times to go over the details & questions, which I thought was a testament to how detail oriented he is and how much he invests in each event he does. He likes to dig deep and really get to know the couples that he works with. He was even kind enough to drive an hour away to our venue just to do a walkthrough with us. The uplighting was beautiful and was a perfect accent to the room. They use great, high-quality lighting. He also provided our Photo Booth as well which was a huge hit! They gave everyone a copy of their photos, as well as put together a book for Trevor & I that had everyone’s photos in it with little notes from each guest under their picture. We were even pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Photo Booth book! It was a beautiful faux-leather album with laminated pages. And we didn't even have to wait for it- it was ready for us to take at the end of the night! Jay really goes above and beyond to make sure that every detail is taken care of to the standards & expectations of his clients. Choosing Jay Friese to be a part of our wedding was one of the best decisions we made while wedding planning. From our first meeting with him till the end of our wedding, he was everything we wanted in a DJ. I always thought that I wanted a band for my wedding but the prices for that were not in our budget. But after the wedding we were so glad we had Jay. Our friends and family raved about him. My husband and I love music but when we sat down with jay to start picking music we weren't really sure what to choose. We trusted jay enough to leave it in his hands and he nailed it. We had a small wedding so I was concerned not many people would dance but with jay everybody was on the dance floor. I promise if you go with Jay you will not be disappointed! Jay came highly recommended from friends who had him DJ their wedding. We seriously couldn't have hired a better DJ for our wedding! From our very first initial meeting to our wedding day, Jay was easy going, organized, and energetic. His confidence was so infectious that we would leave every meeting even more excited for our big day. Being a former club DJ myself, my expectations were pretty high. Needless to say Jay blew it out of the park. From the uplighting to his energetic mixing, everything was next level. His ability to read the crowd was some of the best I've ever seen. Perfect mixes and mash ups that kept literally everyone on the dance floor dancing and singing along all night. The dinner music was also a highlight for us. Rather than your traditional jazzy dinner fluff, Jay played down tempo, acoustic renditions of top hits that guests immediately recognized, loved and sang along to. At multiple times during open dance floor, his custom mash ups played and blew me away. I would give Jay a cheers, and Jay would wink back. It was awesome to see him having just as much fun as our guests– you can tell the man genuinely loves his job. I cant recommend Jay enough and cant imagine our wedding day without him there. Working with Jay Friese (Signature Sounds and Lighting) was a wonderful experience start to finish. He is super organized and gathers tons of information to ensure that the event runs smoothly and to your satisfaction. Jay asked questions I never would have even thought of and was able to give lots of recommendations about other vendors and pieces of the wedding planning process. He is a true professional in this industry. We were able to find the perfect acoustic cover version of our song so that it was appropriate for our first dance. His transitions are seamless! Jay is truly an artist at what he does. Usually when you are at a wedding, the dance floor has to warm up a little bit before people get moving. My husband and I were thrilled to see that the dance floor was PACKED immediately after dinner, when the "dancing" portion had just begun! Jay knows exactly how to make the music flow for a wedding to appeal to the guests (i.e. playing more classic tunes early on so that the older crowd can enjoy it and playing more modern beats later in the evening for the younger crowd). The dance floor was seriously full all night long and everyone commented on how amazing the DJ was, which we already knew! As a bride with a budget, I know that you have to prioritize each vendor and decision you make throughout the planning process, but you cannot compromise on a quality DJ! The DJ sets the vibe at your wedding and plays a big role in ensuring that you and your guests are having an incredible time. I would absolutely hire Signature Sounds again for a stress-free, smooth and crazy fun time!

Outstanding. I give signature sounds 5 stars. From the ceremony to the reception jay did an outstanding job. All my guests were pleased he truely has a talent and makes sure there's always a crowd going. From the first meeting my husband and I met jay we knew he was our Dj. Jeremy was our DJ for our October wedding and he absolutely killed it! Our guests were on the dance floor from dinner until we got cut off by the venue after closing! Multiple people have said it was the best wedding ever and our caterer commented that they have never seen every guest on the dance floor all night! He did a great job picking all of the right songs at the right time and fit in all of my must plays. Jay also put up with my million emails leading up to the wedding! A great crew! Jason at Signature sounds was absolutely amazing!!! Our wedding was 10/15/16 in Bristol RI and he was the first vendor we booked after our venue and he exceeded our expectations!! He was amazing to work with along the way very laid back and knew what we wanted. First of all everyone is still telling us how much FUN they had because we had such a great DJ! So let me also say that he worked with my fiance and was able to incorporate a voicemail clip from my deceased father into my first dance song...not a dry eye in the house it was simply beautiful!! Jay was everything that we could hope for and more in a DJ for our wedding! Working with him was extremely easy, and we knew from the first meeting with him that he would be a perfect fit for us. He was able to help us shape up what music we would want to have at our reception, even while we were being indecisive. We walked away from each meeting prior to the wedding feeling confident in our decision in hiring Jay. During the reception, once he started playing music, he kept the energy up all night. Our friends and family started dancing and did not stop until the last song. Many of our friends came up to us during the ceremony saying that they were having a fantastic time, one of which saying that he was having more fun at our wedding than his own, all due to Jay’s DJ expertise. I can't say enough good things about Jay and George! Music was one of my biggest concerns for our wedding, and George read the crowd, got everyone dancing, and totally made the day! The best part wasn't even the music, it's that Jay and George were DJs/therapists/bodyguards and more. You know you picked an amazing DJ when your guests are texting you two days after your wedding saying how sore they are from dancing all night!! We couldn't have asked for a more amazing DJ for our wedding. The dance floor was packed all night and the guests LOVED the music played. When you're picking a dj for the most important day of your life, it can be kind of terrifying. Luckily for me my brother had chosen Jay for his wedding. Jay was awesome to work with. My husband and I are very particular about music, and we didn't want a cookie cutter wedding with the same old songs you tend to hear at every other wedding. Jay patiently worked with us to find a great balance of music we love and music to keep everyone dancing. He also expertly provided music for all the different locations we had for our wedding - ceremony at South Ferry Church, outdoor cocktail hour, and indoor reception at The Towers which looked amazing thanks to Jay's gorgeous uplighting! He has a sleek, non-intrusive setup as well, making him a great fit in any venue!! Super friendly & super fun!!!

When we first started looking for a wedding DJ, we didn’t know exactly what we needed or what we were looking for. We met a few DJ’s who listened to what we thought we needed and quoted us their package pricing. It was a whole different experience when we finally sat down with Jay. We immediately knew we were in good hands! Jay took the time to get to know us so that he could make the best recommendations for our big day (it was clear he's done this once or twice before (!) and this was our first attempt at wedding planning!). We also were looking for uplighting and knowing our venue, Jay knew exactly what type of setup was going to be appropriate for the space. (We had a November "winter white" wedding since our venue already had their holiday decorations up and Jay's lighting was SPOT ON) We sat with Jay again 2 weeks before our wedding and he took the time to go over the entire day with us! From the timeline of how our reception would flow to all of the music selections (he did a custom song for each bridal party group, shortened our first dance song, etc), he had everything covered. When it came to the dancing the night of our reception, Jay had everyone out on the dance floor and kept them there until the last song of the evening. My wife is not a dancer by any means and she didn’t leave the dancefloor all night! There were so many great photos and videos of our guests having the time of their lives and I am sure that Jay’s music selections made that possible! We have since referred Jay to several friends that got engaged and after the great time they had at our wedding, they booked Signature Sounds as well! We look forward to seeing him at upcoming weddings this summer!

Talk about total Heroes!! When our original DJ fell though just weeks before the wedding, after paying our deposit and everything, we turned to The Knot to find a good recommendation and had our fingers crossed that somebody would be available. Signature Sounds came through big time!!! As soon as we spoke with them they were so accommodating and easy to work with. They set us up with George and when we say down to meet with them and talk through the day, we knew IMMEDIATELY they were the best of the best. So easy to work with, professional, and right on board with all of our ideas. George even offered to go get us some fast food if we got hungry late night!! The event set up was done beautifully, George made sure everything flowed smoothly and on time all night long, which is no easy feat with a group of 30+ fraternity brothers. We could not possibly have hoped for George to be any more personable and easy to work with. THANK GOODNESS Signature Sounds was there to save the day!!!!

To say Jay is the best Dj is an understatement! He truly knows his music and gets the crowd going for all ages. I knew Jay would be amazing from the moment we booked him, with his amazing suggestions, helpful tips he created what was the perfect dance party at our reception. When my friends were having trouble nailing down a good yet affordable wedding DJ for their upcoming wedding, I recommended to them. While I had never been to one of his events, I knew him personally and many of our mutual friends have said how professional and awesome his business is. Being in the wedding party I saw first-hand how when the venue and planner dropped the ball on multiple accounts, and Jay didn't miss a beat to jump in and make sure the wedding ran smoothly. His experience and professionalism was certainly noticed and appreciated by all. He kept the party going and dance floor full the whole night. Jay was amazing from start to finish! He did the sound for our ceremony and music for our reception! He requested multiple meetings throughout the planning process to make sure that he had the music we wanted as well as the exact script for bridal party introductions. Jay kept everything running smoothly and on schedule throughout the entire night. Our wedding coordinator at the venue dropped the ball so Jay stepped right in to pick up the slack. He made sure the cake cutting, garter and bouquet toss as well as speeches happened in a timely manner. We had a lot going on at our wedding between a photo booth, s'mores bar and lawn games but Jay managed to keep the dance floor packed all night. All of our guests talk about what an awesome and fun wedding we had. People actually said they were sore the next day because they were dancing for our entire 6 hour reception! From the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception and dancing - Jay of Signature Sounds was perfection! Unless you have a referral, selecting a DJ can be quite a daunting task. We spent so much time researching, reading reviews and talking to various DJs. When we initially spoke with Jay, he assured us that he could read the crowd and play the music our guests wanted to hear to keep everyone dancing all night - and Jay did just that! Jay went above and beyond for our ceremony (which was in the middle of an orchard) and was prepared with a battery pack so we could have music for our ceremony without having to run 400ft of extension cord through the orchard! If you are debating getting the dance floor lighting, it is a must! The setup is very professional and it definitely turned the dance floor into a real party! My husband and I danced all night with our friends and family - Jay absolutely delivered on his promise to keep the dance floor packed. We couldn't be more thrilled with the service that Jay provided. Jay was professional and timely in his communications, and he made planning remotely super simple. He also provided us with exactly the type of music we wanted and the majority of our guests spent the entire reception dancing! The mixes he made were original and various, and his presence was not intrusive at all. Hands down, the music was one of the best parts of the wedding. I can't honestly say enough about Jay!! His professionalism was through the roof!! From start to finish he was amazing!! Being in the business my expectations were high and he met them on every level!! My friends and family are still talking about how amazing he was!! The venue fell short on so many levels and Jay took control and made everything better!! I really can't say enough about how much fun we had!! Jay was fantastic! I can't say enough good things about him… We hired Jay to DJ our ceremony music and our reception. For the ceremony, he was there early and had everything ready to go in time to play music as everyone was seated. He even created a custom loop of an intro to a song that I liked for the entrance music for my bridal party. He timed everything perfectly. For the reception, Jay had everyone dancing the whole night. People were coming up to us all night telling us how great he was. He read the crowd perfectly and managed to fit in our "must play" songs always at the right time. Not only was Jay an awesome DJ, but he was really great to work with. It was like having a friend DJ your wedding, he was so helpful. My musician friend was supposed to play the cocktail hour which was originally supposed to be outside but because of rain needed to be moved indoors to the reception hall. Jay started the music early for us without any complaint. I was trying to coordinate with my friend to play, but she needed a microphone in order to be heard inside. The vendor coordinator was no help at all, and when Jay heard that she needed help, he actually ran out to his truck to get her a microphone and set her up to play using his speakers. He was absolutely our hero that day! We also hired Jay to do our uplighting, which was set up beautifully. He was very reasonably priced and was the perfect DJ. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. Everyone was so impressed and I would highly recommend him for any event!!

Jay brings a lot of fun to a wedding for a VERY good value. Compared to other DJs we looked at he was more affordable but he still offered a FULL list of services we associated. He was very available during the planning of the wedding and met me at the venue to go over specifics. He also was knowledgeable about what extra music we would need other than the dance music after dinner, and this was very helpful during the planning. His introductions to the wedding party, cake cutting and all other MCs roles were done well as he's very personable. He has a portable unit for the ceremony and cocktail hour, which was very nice. This worked out well for us since those two events were in two separate locations and away from where the dinner was. Getting to the dance party I also liked how he made a custom mix of the music we chose, mixing ones with others, rather than just playing one song after the other. The music was unique and extremely fun to dance to. Of course he'll play songs in their entirety as well. We requested some of those too. His equipment is quite good; there were no times during the night we got any speaker feedback or interference. It was high quality sound. And the last thing i want to mention is that he has his own wireless uplighting and this really added a lot to the venue/night. Again, the whole package with him. Would definitely recommend to others. He was our age which i found to be a big plus as well as he knew which music to play. We didn't have to give him a complete list, just "songs like these" and "these artists, but not these artists" is enough for him to make a great playlist for us. The highlight of his style is to bring a really fun attitude to the dance party for your wedding. It will feel modern and fresh which for us was fantastic. Pick this guy!

Jay is a true professional. He provided an experience at our wedding that my wife and I will never forget. Since then, I've referred Jay to some of my friends and family and witnessed firsthand, again, what a good DJ experience does for a wedding reception. Also, Jay was very easy to work with. He's calm, cool and collected-not an alarmist. Something you will need on your big day!

I was tired by the time it cam to picking the music and told Jay what I like and didn't like. After a year of wedding planning I couldn't bring myself to create yet another list of something to do. Jay put together a great playlist based on our feedback. The day of the wedding he had the dance floor packed at all times. I have know Jay for 10 years and his quality and professionalism has never dissapointed. I actually found Jay as a referral from another DJ I was referred to but had already booked my date and I could not be happier! Jay did an excellent job keeping the dance floor packed as promised. They say time flies when you are having fun but that's an understatement. I could have danced all night and was sad to hear our last song begin to play. Weeks later I am still seeing my wedding guests and hearing how much fun they had. Jay was affordable, organized, and most of all professional. I had contact with him over the phone a number of times before the wedding. He was well organized and quick to respond to questions. He even invited me to some local shows and other venues to get to know him before hand. I was certainly not a bride that wanted to spend a significant portion of my budget on a DJ, as my thoughts are it's basically just anyone with a Mac computer these days, but I have to say that Jay was absolutely fabulous to work with and he followed everything we asked for to a T! Our intros were perfect and any suggestions he made were helpful and honest. If you are looking for someone who will keep it fun but be respectful of your wishes, Jay is the one for you!

Finding a DJ was probably the hardest part about wedding planning for me. I met with one too many older, smarmy, used-car dealer type who would have been SO wrong for my wedding. Just as I was about to start looking outside the state of RI, I met with Jay and hired him almost immediately. He was so easy to work with, played the EXACT music we wanted- and more importantly, avoided the music we DIDN'T want! We danced all night to hits from our high school & college years. My husband and I had our wedding at Saint Clements Castle on June 29, 2014 utilizing "Jay Free" as our DJ for the venue. He was very professional, organized, personable, accommodating, and easy going yet focused. I felt very at ease the entire night. Everyone loved the music including myself. DJ Jay Friese was absolutely fantastic. We really wanted a fun, upbeat atmosphere at our wedding and someone who could get everyone on the dance floor and keep them there all night, and Jay did not disappoint. He was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process and always responsive when I had a question. He even put together a music montage for the father/daughter dance just a few weeks before the wedding, taking the time to make sure the timing was perfect. Jay was great to work with. Extremely professional and always quick to respond to us. He plays great music and really knows how to read the crowd. Everybody always says you need only two things at a wedding . . . good music and good food. We definitely got great music with Jay as our DJ! We had a unique set-up at our venue (a foyer connected by two guest rooms), so I was concerned people wouldn't dance, but that was not the case at all. Jay got everyone to go out and stay out, especially me, the bride. All I wanted at my wedding was to dance and have fun, and I got to do exactly that. I'm extremely happy with the service I got!

One thing at our wedding (June 20, 2010) we didn't anticipate was the mood of the night. It was a hot day, very warm. Thanks to our kick tail wedding planning and being smart to asked Jay to be our DJ, everything was perfect. As the night went on I remember thinking how did he (Jay) know I wanted that song to play right then. This happened so many times. He can mix in a song, take a request, and change the entire vibe in a millisecond. My wife and I picked out our songs and left him open do what he does. Turns out he did what he does, and my wedding was a fantastic night. Classy, happy, deep, summertime, jazzy, fun music was pouring out with great sound. He had my entire guest list was out dancing. This guy is fantastic. Highly recommended, very fair on price.
