He has a phenomenal eye for composition and for finding stunning backdrops – for us, around city hall and the public garden. For our portraits, Ben kept us at ease and natural. At the reception, Ben helped us maximize our time with guests and was a wizard at herding everyone together for the formal group photos. As soon as we first spoke over the phone and eventually met in person, it felt like we were speaking with an old friend. In navigating one of the most amazing and beautiful (but also overwhelming) days of my life yesterday when we got married, Ben made our day special by taking the formality out of the photo taking process so that everyone’s personalities in our party could really shine through - he also fit right in and we were genuinely happy to have him in our company. ion call to the wedding day, i felt like ben was listening to every word i said and made sure to craft our day perfectly around the direction. i had so many guests come up to me and say they barely realized we had a photographer there because he so seamlessly blended into our day. the final photos we got back were exactly what i wanted and captured every moment incredibly. it was a perfect balance of genuine smiles and happy moments blended with the necessary family photos. even the portraits were natural and don't feel overly posed at all. i can't recommend ben enough!

dibly happy about. The way Ben documented the trajectory of the weekend definitely added to the final product, which was absolutely stunning. The different moments Ben was able to capture, ranging from the wedding party portraits to the intimate moments during prep to the raucous moments on the dance floor were all spectacular and came together in a portfolio of photos from the weekend that absolutely blew us away. The pictures we now have would have earned a stellar review on their own, but what made the entire experience even more impressive and meaningful to us was how much we genuinely enjoyed working with Ben coupled with the way that he blended in with the night. On the first point, Ben choreographed all of our pictures in a way that we never felt like we were being ordered around, and he was always able to get genuine laughter our of his profiles. (We even had a few people come up after the event and say how much they enjoyed their brief interactions with him.) Then when it came to the evening itself, we’ve been to weddings where photographers show up with crews of people and compromise some of the most special moments to take pictures of them. Ben was the exact opposite of this. He blended in incredibly well with the surrounding scene and was still able to capture all of the special moments in a breathtaking fashion without being intrusive or obstructive in the slightest. I cannot recommend Ben / Silver + Salt more highly and would be happy to do a reference call for him anytime.

it was so hot and humid, and he was able to pivot immediately when I abruptly decided it was too hot outside. The final photographs are everything we dreamed of and looking at them makes my heart swell.
