ould personally be there for our wedding but she was not. We didn’t have videography so I was very clear at the rehearsal I was happy to allow guests to use their phones / record video. The fill in day of coordinator then made an announcement at that start of the ceremony, with her half shaved head and purple hair (doesn’t matter but doesn’t match wedding aesthetics), that I requested no phones??? And convinced our officiant to repeat that? She asked a lot of questions that vendors asked me why she asked / didn’t already know and then proceeded to do nothing with the information. My DJs did an amazing job with timeline and announcements and all other vendors were great as well. The one job our planner really had was to ensure we did the champagne toast that we paid for and that never happened. I would recommend not throwing your money away to a “day of coordinator”who I couldn’t tell you a single thing they contributed that day. If anything, they made it messier.

I loved that she comes to the rehearsal at no extra charge. I noticed a lot of other don’t do that and I can’t imagine rehearsing without the officiant after going through it. She made everything so simple, we were directed through everything including filing the marriage license. She was always early and prepared.
After talking with us and getting to know us she suggested a wine box ceremony, which we had never heard of, but we took her recommendation and it was a very special part of the ceremony and a tradition we are excited to carry on for years to come.

Merrie is everything you want in an officiant. She is caring, eloquent, and wise. (She also spent some time as a wedding coordinator and is very knowledgable, which was a nice bonus!) We arranged a Zoom call and she took some time to get to know us so that she could write our ceremony from the heart. She certainly does not do "cookie cutter" weddings, and she crafted such an articulate, personalized ceremony for us even after only meeting us for a short period of time. Merrie has a lovely energy, calm voice, and kind heart. We loved having her play such an important role in our big day, and we think you will too.
