Silver Pix Studios

We hired Silver Pix Studio to cover the Photography and Videography at our wedding in 2012. I have waited to review there services for fear of damages and withholding of our photo and video. I hope that no one else has to go through what we did. The initial meeting went well. Amber offered a discounted rate to lock us in and we agreed to have her studio cover our wedding. Prior to the wedding we noticed that the quality of her wedding films had decreased. We contacted her to see new samples and she told us that her work was outsourced, but she edited the video herself (We thought that she had videographers on staff). We were very nervous after hearing this and she assured us that everything would be okay. We had our engagement shoot a few weeks prior to the wedding and she had a new Videographer practicing. He told me that he wasn't familiar with shooting video and I wished him luck in his future career. My Fiance was nervous that he might be shooting our wedding and contacted Amber. She assured us that she would have a professional. I was a nervous groom - The day of our wedding. To my surprise the Videographer from our engagement shoot was there to film our wedding. He was there with a second shooter who had difficulties putting on my wireless microphone. I blocked it out the best I could and focused on my beautiful fiance who would be walking down the isle shortly. Silver Pix Studio was contracted to stay through cake cutting, but had announced they would be leaving early. Amber explained that if we didn't move cake cutting forward then the Videography crew would leave! I begged the DJ and caterer to move the cake cutting forward and this interrupted the entire flow of our wedding. I felt completely ambushed! Silver Pix Studio had no objections when we sent her our timeline! We were also subjected to numerous occasions where our Photographer would take shots from "creative" angles. Unfortunately these angles exposed her plump mid section. Silver Pix Studio promised that we would receive our photos in 30 days. We received excuse after excuse every time we contacted the studio. The owner told us that she had "pulled her back". She apologize for the delay and promised that she would have them within 60 days. She started to ignore our emails and replied four months later with another excuse. She told us that she would be out of the country. If it wasn't for a by chance encounter (during her supposed "charity" photography trip), we may have waited longer to receive our photos. When we received them their were photo's missing. When we brought it to the studios attention they were able to locate a few of the photos in question. However, they we unable to locate all of them. Our video was promised within 3-months and we did not receive them until 9-months after our wedding. The owner constantly lied to us and at one point told me that she "worked with our small budget". I wouldn't exactly call a $30,000 wedding a small budget. She new the venue and could clearly see that our budget was larger than she expected. I honestly believe that this angered her and was the reason for her poor treatment of us. When we asked for edits of OUT-OF-FOCUS video they refused. They then agreed at a cost that exceeded the cost of the entire shoot! I would not recommend Silver Pix Studio. They have been very nasty to us after the fact. I wish we had hired true professionals. Very disappointed with this vendor.
