Silver Springs State Park is a gorgeous venue. It's very scenic, the natural beauty is gorgeous. It's also very affordable! But be prepared to have a backup indoors, thanks to Flor...ida weather. I had my heart set on an outdoor ceremony and 45 minutes before, the ceremony got moved in the ballroom due to lightning and hail. Also be prepared: since it's a state park, you can't have the flower girl drop petals, lavender, etc, your send off has to be bubbles, glow sticks, or wands (no sparklers), and if they end up doing renovations it will take a while (I was supposed to have my cocktail hour out on the deck-absolutely gorgeous- however they were redoing the decking and were supposed to be done several weeks before my wedding. They weren't even half done on my wedding day so cocktail hour had to get moved as well.) we had the reception in the ballroom, which has almost floor to ceiling windows. We had to use their catering vendor (one less decision for me to make) but there was no tasting beforehand. I was nervous about that, however I should not have worried, everything was great. In fact, many people told me afterwards how delicious the crab dip was. Like they went out of their way to tell us how good it was. So I would highly recommend thE crab dip. So even though there were several things I wish could have been different (outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour on the deck, flower girl drop petals, lantern send off) would I change the venue? Absolutely not. I am so happy we got married at Silver Springs.
