h, and Kimberley stood out as being the absolute best from day 1. One of the other 2 planners didn't seem to have as much experience or design sense as Kimberley, or as many connections. When meeting with them, I felt like they'd do a decent job, but that my wedding would end up looking very cookie cutter and I worried I wouldn't be referred to other vendors (DJ, etc.) who were unique and best in class. The 3rd planner was straight up annoying and I couldn't imagine working with her long term! Kimberley was the best of ALL worlds--her background as an interior decorater and an innate sense of taste merged with her ability to truly understand who we were as a couple and our design preferences. Thanks to her, we ended up with design elements in our wedding that we'd never have even thought were possible, if not for Kimberley! Kimberley also recommended a fantastic (and affordable!) florist, caterer, and DJ, among other great vendors. She was also a dream to interact with and made everything lighthearted and fun. When I say my wedding day went off without a hitch, I MEAN it! Literally everything was perfect, and it was not because the "stars aligned"--it was because of the thorough planning and flawless execution by Kimberley and her team. We went through numerous challenges with our wedding--first of all, we had to postpone 1 year due to COVID. Second of all, our wedding was in Fredericksburg, so it was a challenge to find vendors (especially catering!) who would travel from Austin. Third of all, we had issues communicating with the venue after the yearlong hiatus in between our first and second wedding dates. I have no idea how we could have navigated those situations without Kimberley--she & her husband literally helped us get some of our rentals to and from Fredericksburg because we couldn't find a company that had the availability to do it! She also used her industry connections to get a vendor who was delivering games (like cornhole, etc.) to our wedding to deliver & pick up some of the rentals as well. She is a problem-solver extraordinaire. The day of the wedding she set everything up gorgeously. We had SO MANY candles and decorative items on our tables & all of that required an artistic eye to set up--it wasn't like each table looked the same or had the same stuff on it. Kimberley made each table a work of art. Our guests raved about the look of the wedding & most of them commented that they'd never been to a more beautiful or better run wedding. Seriously, the way Kimberley facilitated our wedding day was so smooth that even the guests noticed it! Still to this day people comment on the beauty and ease of our wedding. My friends were amazed that there was absolutely "no drama" and our wedding party was impressed the day of at how Kimberley remained firm and in control while also being super fun and personable. Kimberley is completely unflappable and brings a reassuring sense of calm and positivity no matter how much she has going on--she is a true professional. I honestly don't know why you'd want to look anywhere else for a wedding planner--Kimberley is THE girl if you want someone to plan the gorgeous and unique wedding of your dreams while also being fun while also carrying out all of your plans flawlessly! Go with Kimberley, you will NOT regret it!

new within one meeting the exact vendors that matched our tastes and personalities. She truly listens and engages when she speaks with you. She doesn’t try to force any of the conventional ideas of a wedding and is only interested in what fits who you are as a couple. If we aren’t sure of an idea, she has three more to replace it. I cried the day she sent over her vision board- it was such a relief to have chosen the right person to hand our big day over to. Planning our wedding suddenly became fun again instead of a giant weight. We were blown away by the tasting at the catering team she had chosen. I think my mouth literally fell open when we met the florist and saw what she had collaborated with them on for our table centerpieces. When we asked her to recommend a good band- we booked the one she suggested without even hearing them first. That is the level of trust she created.
Seeing everything come together on our wedding day gave me such peace. There weren’t any details to worry about- she was on it. Instead, I got to concentrate on celebrating the lifelong commitment I was making with my best friend. Not everything went off without a hitch (to be expected when you enlist your family members instead of professionals to be the officiant, makeup artist, hair stylist, and emcee), but Kim quickly dealt with any hiccups efficiently and behind the scenes. Our reception was hands down the most beautifully decorated venue I have ever seen. This woman is gifted! All of our guests told us all night that it was so “us”. Every detail felt right and purposeful. Everyone raved about the food and one table actually asked for seconds-at a wedding! The florals were dark and moody and dripping from everything. The band had every single person on the dance floor. Once our night reached an end, we received a hundred photos Kim had secretly taken on her phone throughout the day-knowing our photographer wouldn’t be able to get us any for a while and we would want them. She is so in tune with what is important to couples.
I can promise that you will not regret placing your trust in Silver Thistle. Our planning experience turned from a burden into a source of joy and excitement the moment Kim stepped in. erley, she asked me to send her a pinterest board of inspiration for my day, and she took it from there. When I tell you that she surpassed all of my expectations, I mean she surpassed ALL of my expectations- the bouquet, the cake, the set up- all of it was a combination of all of my favorite elements from my board, but somehow better. Not only that, but Kimberley was such an incredible comfort to have from the start- she touched base with us consistently from the second we reached out to her until the moment she handed us coffee on our return from our sunrise hike on the day of our elopement. Kimberley has such a calming presence, and was a constant source of reassurance that things were handled which took so much stress off of us so that we really could just sit back and enjoy our day.
Pictures tell a thousand words, especially when it comes to design, but I’ll try my best to paint a picture of the day that Kimberley created for us. After our sunrise elopement, which Kimberley supplied the most STUNNING bouquet for, she met us at a beautiful secluded beach nestled between the mountains, where she had set up a picnic laid with geometric blankets and wicker baskets. We ate pastries and fruit and sipped our coffees, and it allowed us to have such a beautiful moment to soak in our day, and we are eternally grateful for those memories.
Later that day, we headed out to the COOLEST luxury campsite that Kimberley helped us find, had dinner, and then walked back down to our tent where Kimberley had set up the most incredible cake stand and floral arrangement. We danced to Coldplay, we ate cake off of each other’s faces, and we read letters from our friends and family. We laughed, we cried, we tripped over my dress. At the end of it all, with Kimberley’s help, our day became so much more than what we had thought of as a typical elopement. Instead, it became a day filled with all of our favorite traditions, framed by beautiful details, that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

After explaining to her what my vision was for our big day and showing her my Pintrest board, she ran with it and surpassed every expectation I had. It’s your one day - DO NOT RISK IT!
We caught her colluding with vendors on pricing even the ones we found ourselves for kickbacks- and that’s the worst feeling when your planner is working against your event instead of for it and focused on double dipping after locking a contract and getting paid by you. Regrettably we had the evidence but not enough time to get her off of our account. We didn’t assign anything to her and kept her involvement to a bare minimum and only as required by the venue but it was our poor decision to allow her access to our event.
Some Examples of what that resulted in :
Incorrect order of events passed to our wedding party and vendors. We ended up with no one showing up at the cocktail location because she instructed everyone to head to another location.
Giving incorrect information to the venue of table count and seating. Fortunately they had figured it out and were taking instructions only from us.
Wedding cake was sent to kitchen before we got to cut it.
It really became way more work trying to put out the fires and monitor her than having a planner who would have done nothing.
Even though we had two weeks left we did manage to replace most vendors without sharing the information with her and they did their best.
Tips for wedding planning-
Make sure your planner is personally recommended not just an online five-star review. (Maybe paid for)
If your planner tries to win your confidence by talking about the venue/vendors in an us vs. them terminology- or undermining them -be Extremely Vary!!!
If they are over insistent on particular vendors in this case it was The Flower Girl - know that they may be working together and you may not get an honest result. Luckily we had kept all the evidence.
Make sure you are either directly involved with the venue or included in all communications - that is honestly why we still saved face thanks to the great team we had at Camp Lucy!
Ask the venue for their recommendation. Our venue shared their experience with us and why they have their recommended choices.
I would not recommend Silver thistle or Kimberly Bentley for any wedding/event related business.

You were so patient, yet saw through those small details I thought I may need, and pushed me towards what you knew I would want, and what you knew would make me happy, but I didn’t think was possible. I am not what I would consider traditional, and you made my off the wall ideas seem welcomed and exciting. I am in awe of everything about every part of both our rehearsal and especially our wedding day. I wouldn’t have changed a single thing. Everything was perfect, perfect, because of you.
I remember walking into both Deep Eddy and Prospect House, looking around and laughing. I just knew nothing could be as good as what I had built up in my head, yet somehow, it was better.
The day of our wedding, I kept coming out of the bridal suite just to watch the process in awe. Nothing has ever made me more happy than to see our vision come to life. To see what you thought would be amazing, blow your mind, because it’s more than that. To have all these elements from our travels entwined with so many design aesthetics, we only talked about, because I had never seen. You allowed me to trust you to run, and man did you run! Everywhere I turned that night, you were there, keeping us relaxed and stress free. Allowing us to enjoy our day. Making us feel so loved and special. I don’t know if I can ever say thank you enough, but THANK YOU. We are so grateful to now have you as a friend, and apart of our lives forever. You are a true visionary.

y Kari, (The Flower Girl) and Bee Lavish and Root Cellar Catering created the most gorgeous and unique setting at Prospect House. Our photographer Nikk Nguyen Photo, captured everything so beautifully and the pictures were breathtaking. It really was a dream come true for my daughter and she was extremely happy. Kimberley handled the smallest details to huge ones and coordinating everything seamlessly. I can’t say enough about the wonderful job she did and would highly recommend her to anyone! She was AHHHH-MAAAAY-ZINGGG on our wedding day. We had a wild group and she was so professional yet fun and kept everyone in check for ceremony time. Her assistant was sick the day of the wedding and I had probably 15-20 boxes of decor that she magically unpacked and perfectly placed BY HERSELF in just a few hours. I saw the venue transform from a blank slate into the most beautiful romantic boho dream I could have ever imagined! Seriously, my husband and I miss her already...I told her I was going to get married again so we could have her around some more! hehe :)
If you think you have the perfect timeline and everything is perfectly planned out for your big day and you can do it all by yourself the day of and still enjoy yourself...you're wrong honey! I am a severely, oftentimes annoying OCD planner, and I could not have done it without Kimberley. I see now, after looking back on our big day that a planner is a MUST in order to feel stress free and happy on your wedding day.

My daughter spoke with both planners but decided very quickly to book Kimberly. BEST decision she could have made! Her vendors were professional and very talented at what they did. However my biggest applause goes to Kimberly! When I said earlier that we all hope for great memories for our kids...that statement was tested when 6 days before our daughters wedding we had “historical flooding” in our area. The rain continued for the entire week before the wedding. 2 days before the wedding we had to change the location of the ceremony/reception to another area of the ranch and get a larger tent than what we had reserved. My husband and I were getting anxious about this situation but not Kimberly. Kimberley handled all of this with such professionalism and a constant smile on her face. The wedding ended up being wonderful under the big tent. The flowers, decor and catering were all out of this world. Thank you Kimberly for giving my daughter such wonderful memories!

ing. When I met with her the month before our wedding out at the venue she had a very calming effect on me and my pre-wedding jitters all the while keeping the same level of excitement.
My actual wedding day is really when she shined for us. I spent the entire day on cloud 9 completely oblivious to the apparent chaos that was ensuing all around me. Our caterer showed up 2 hours late which not only delayed the food but they also were hired to set up all the tables, chairs and linens. She stepped up and had my bridesmaids pitch in without me knowing any of this until the next day. We also did not have enough table runners (My fault, I didn't bring them all!) she just asked me calmly if it was okay to cut them in half to accommodate the extra tables. I said "sureeee no problem" not even realizing I had screwed up and went out to look at everything it was just stunning the way she put everything together so last minute. Everyone at my wedding was commenting on how beautiful everything was and I could never have had the stress free, best day of my life without her help.
