I love simple, clean compositions and bright, intense colors. I love shooting the big moments of the wedding day and the seemingly quieter ones – to me they are equally important and it is often when I look beyond the obvious that I am able to create the best pictures.
I live in Somerville, Massachusetts with my wife, 2 kids, and super cute lab-mix, am an award-winning member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), and have had my work featured in The Knot Boston and Gala Weddings. I am entering my 11th year in business and have covered 250+ weddings.

ide (perhaps main) benefit of doing them - that it's actually good for the couple and photographer to get to know each other before the big day, rather than spend it with a total stranger. He is very experienced and was able to ask us a lot of good questions to get a good sense of our vision for the day and our photos, without us having to specify every small thing. Simi has a great, dry sense of humor (my favorite!) and really put us at ease while we did all our photos before the wedding. All the way through the process, he was very communicative about timing for receiving our photos and sent us 'sneak peeks' of our engagement and wedding before the full packages were ready. The site he uses to host the pictures is also easy to use and requires a code for download, so we know not just anyone can get into the gallery. It was a real relief to have Simi as part of the vendor team during our wedding, and we were so happy with the pictures when they came back! Thank you.

emails we’ve had with him regarding setup, style of photos, along with the initial video calls was helpful to make things more comfortable with him prior to investing any money.
On the day of our wedding, Simi was punctual, professional and easy to work with. We hired an extra photographer of his, and she too was great to work with. He was also very flexible when it came to the photography and leaned into some of our ideas for photos on the fly. It was also helpful that he had a list of pictures we needed to get, as well.
After our wedding, he quickly delivered the photo gallery. The images were beautifully balanced, not over-saturated, and included a mix of traditional shots along with some stunning candid moments.
From our first conversation to the final result, working with Simi was an excellent experience, and we are so happy with our photos. We highly recommend Simi to anyone seeking natural lighting, classic portraits, and beautiful candid shots.

From our first meeting he was very easy-going and good at communicating with us. He put us at ease with funny stories when taking our engagement photos and helped us to try out different poses when we weren’t totally comfortable in front of the camera. As photographer, he maintained a perfect balance between listening to our vision, ideas, and desired locations or group shots, while also offering his expertise and ideas when needed. Before the wedding he helped us to think through the timeline to make sure we would be able to get the shots we wanted and during he carefully made sure that none of the group/family shots were missed! He was a thorough professional and coordinated well with our other vendors as needed. Most importantly, in the end we came away with beautiful photos of our wedding that we will cherish for years to come!

We first met him on our engagement shoot, which was included...
as a part of his wedding package. We're not always the most comfortable in front of the camera, but Simi made us both feel comfortable throughout. He spent a lot of time with us and the photos he took during that shoot were the best photos of us we'd ever seen... until we got the photos back from the wedding, that is.
He was the only photographer for our wedding (no team), so we were honestly shocked by the number of different angles and moments he was able to capture. We were delighted to see so many beautiful moments we didn't get to experience firsthand as the couple -- seeing friends and family connecting, hugging, laughing and tearing up the dance floor. Multiple family members also said they were surprised by all the photos, because they barely noticed him taking them.
We had an extremely tight timeframe for friends and family portraits, as well as our own portraits -- but Simi made it work and somehow everyone came out looking great. And the photos that Simi took of the two of us are the best photos of us that we've ever seen. Some of them are really art.
We got our wedding photos back right as we were spending time with our families over Thanksgiving, so we spent the weekend reliving our wedding day with our parents. Looking the photos, it feels like he captured not only our wedding, but us too.
As you can tell, we can't recommend him enough!

as able to capture many very natural moments, and he was so personable and easy to talk with before the wedding. And when he says 'unobtrusive' at the wedding and reception, he means he is like a ninja-- I'm in some of these photos (and they look amazing) and even I'm asking myself, when did he take this photo?! I didn't even see him??? Additionally, the online galleries Simi sent to us after the wedding were very nicely categorized, and easy to share.
I am still absolutely speechless at all of the photos and can't stop smiling when I look at them and remember all of the happy moments of the day. I feel very lucky and grateful he was available for our wedding day. His pricing was incredibly competitive as well, and he was very flexible when we asked for changes (re: additional time at wedding).
Everyone we have showed photos to has complimented our choice of photographer, saying Simi did an amazing job, and that everyone looks so genuinely happy. We have two different philosophies about pictures, Arielle loves portraits, while Jonathan loves candids. This was one of the first things we talked about with Simi, and the beauty is that he does both so well!!! He is an excellent photographer, who is so chill and so easy to talk to! He worked with us through the two different venues, and rethinking the timeframe of pictures. At one point, we thought we would have a shorter wedding, and despite our initial contract, Simi was more than willing to modify the contract to a shorter time and adjust the fee accordingly. In the end, we stuck with the 8 hours. And we could not be happier! Simi is an incredible photographer who is so fun to work with!

During the event's ceremonies and celebrations, Simi magnificently captured both the big must-have moments (ring exchanges, speeches, dancing), as well as the small very-detailed moments (hand-holding, dress embroideries, nature textures). Simi takes a journalistic approach that captures moment both 'seen and unseen' in a remarkable and poetic way. The pictures we have today perfectly capture the pomp and circumstance, alongside the quiet intimacy of our wedding. Following the event, Simi was very quick to publish a preview of our web gallery, and soon after, he shared the entire gallery, which was very nicely categorized and easily viewable. an eye for candid photos and action shots. Simi stood out to us immediately. He so accommodating and captured every photo on our list. He moves like a ninja and was EVERYWHERE during the reception capturing hilarious moments on the dance floor.
Simi was so easy to work with and made my husband and I feel comfortable throughout the engagement shoot and the day of our wedding. We are not into PDA and thought we'd be too stiff during the engagement shoot but Simi made it fun and our photos came out great.
We would 100% recommend Simi to anyone getting married!

Simi's dedication and commitment to delivering the best photos was best illustrated at the end of the evening. Well after he was slated to call it a night, he found us, let us know he was leaving. A few minutes later, a particularly funny dance-off was happening on the dance floor, and Simi was in the center capturing it all.
We would hire Simi again in an instant. Working with him was super smooth, and his photographs are truly special. We were lucky to have such a great photographer documenting our day.

quickly and were blown away by how accurately the photos depicted our day. My husband hates having his picture taken and Simi made us both feel very comfortable every step of the way. I love that in addition to the "big stuff" he captured little moments that we didn't get to see when we were in the heat of the moment, like small details of the decor and interactions between people we never thought would enjoy dancing together. We highly, highly recommend!

Not only this, but I think the key thing for us was that he integrated seamlessly into our day, never making any moment about him and his photos. He was supremely respectful of our guests and our time, as we found the reception zipped by!!
For our reception, we had quite a few formal portraits we needed to get through, yet he worked through these smartly and efficiently, and the results speak for themselves. We also really liked his openness to input from us regarding how we'd like to set up the photos, whilst also offering his clearly expert advice and ideas as well!!
If you're looking to take one more thing off your mind on the day, (It can be quite an overwhelming emotional day, and the last thing you need to be doing is worrying about minutiae) then I implore you to consider Simi as your photographer, the service and the person are both excellent.
