We asked for a simple frosted cake decorated with fresh flowers, and Simma’s was happy to coordinate with our florist on the decorations. Overall, our cakes were executed wonderfully, and we cannot wait to pull our final slices out for our anniversary next August. We would definitely recommend working with Simma’s for anyone’s upcoming weddings.

I called them back, they wanted a sample of the cake I brought them 1 1/2 of the cake they said they would get with their team and call back, that didn't happen, 24 hours later I call them back and spoke with Peggy an was told they tasted a cake that was 6 days old and nothing was wrong with the cake and sometimes people try returning the cake after the couples do not eat it all at the wedding. For the record I love love love cakes cupcakes, little Debbie cakes you name it an would/could eat most of the cake alone l also have 7 year old twins that loves cake an they would probably eat the rest lol but they also didn't like it.. My twins came with me to return the cake and she screams out " that cake was nasty"
After speaking with Peggy, I felt like they didn't believe me an calling me a liar. I'm a christians women that believes in GOD and my spirit does not operate that way..They kept the cake and told me they could give me a 8"cake. NO! I will NEVER patronize your bakery again! Please be careful of the fake smiles and lovely attitudes! (I really thought they cared about making this cake an me having the best experience ever. Boy, was I wrong!

tion venue (why…?). The night of the rehearsal, I had decided to bite the bullet and take my 1-year old daughter home so my wife could enjoy the rehearsal dinner without worrying about her. When I got home, I let the dog out of her cage and walked upstairs for bedtime stories. Finally getting my daughter to sleep, I went down to make dinner, watch some tv, etc… After about 30 minutes, I noticed my dog was acting a little guilty about something. I thought maybe she had an accident or something so I did a quick spin around and didn’t notice anything. Then I looked at the table… Where there was a ravaged wedding cake top and cake crumbles everywhere. I felt like the camera of life zoomed in on my realization of what happened… Terrified and furious, I put/threw my dog into her cage, and did what any 35 year-old American male would do, alone, in a cake related emergency… “Call Mom!”…
It took a few minutes to get my mother to stop laughing at my cliché wedding-movie problem… Wiping the tears from her eyes she told me she would call back in a few minutes. Within 15 minutes, I was texting the on-call Simmas bakery owner who was available using the “Wedding Cake Emergency Hotline” (yeah… I didn’t know that was a thing either). I gave him the specs of the cake-top using my tape measure and some pictures and he said they will get on it in the morning.
First thing the next day, the baker let me know the cake was ready. It was perfect. Texture, buttercream frosting, size, everything. As a note, Simmas did not make the original cake, their team is just extremely talented and worked ridiculously fast for some random guy whose 40-pound golden doodle got courageous. When I asked how much it was… The owner WAIVED THE FEE ENTIRELY!!! And said, just take a picture of the reaction (which I wasn’t present for sadly).
Just to clarify, my family has been going to Simmas for years because their cakes are amazing. The owner didn’t know who I was, but still saved a crucial part of a wedding. I always knew this bakery made amazing pastries and cakes, but now I know it’s run by a generous and wonderful team. I come from a very big family, and Simmas will be my, and more importantly my mom’s, grandma to 19 hungry children, go to bakery whenever the occasion calls. Thank you, Mark, Meredith, and the entire Simmas Family for saving the day!!!
PS: the dog is fine, and my wife’s aunt laughed about it (on the outside), so I think I’m in the clear… for now

my dreams unfold. They were available for multiple calls during the day and helped me late at night decide how to lay everything out on the dessert table. They let us try our desserts, and gave suggestions on switching out items to get our money's worth and give the guests a good product. We decided on a 2-tier cake with cheesecake on the bottom and a genoise cake with raspberry filling. This was surrounded on our dessert table with seasonal pies (blueberry, cherry, pumpkin, pecan chocolate chip), mini pecan tarts, and apple bars. Our guests were very impressed by the setup as well as the taste of everything. From start to finish I can say that have been beyond impressed with Simma's quality and helpful staff. I will be going to Simma's annually to get an anniversary dessert for sure.

Now the cons: They were terrible to work with. We had a really bad experience with the wedding consultant we had. She was always short with us, rude, and very impersonal. While all of our other vendors made us feel special and taken care of on our wedding day, she never did. In fact, rather than take care of us, Simma's actually added a ton of stress for more than one reason. 1) We purposely did not rent stands/displays from them because we knew we would not be able to return them (we live out of state, and left town the day after the wedding). However, in our last call with our wedding consultant, she informed us that there was still a piece we would have to return. She waited until a week before our wedding to even mention this, so we had to scramble to find someone who could return it. 2) Simma's does not set up the desserts. It is not even an option you can pay for them to do. This was shocking for us to find out, because most other bakeries would have handled the delivery and set up. This meant we had to also find someone to set up the desserts, since they were being delivered 2 hours before the ceremony, and the wedding party and families were busy with other things.
Overall, I would have a really hard time recommending Simma's to anyone for their wedding. For everyday desserts, they are great, but to work with on a wedding, was not a good experience.

The cake was picked up the day before our event, transported 4 hours in a car, and still looked perfect on our warm summer wedding day! . Returning the plates was easy, and the refund came quickly as well. We did order significantly less than suggested, and it worked out great with even some leftover pieces for us. My only points of improvement/warning are they don't provide platters for the mini pastries (however, our venue was very willing to plate them for us), and the base level designs are very simple and can add up pretty quickly if you want a more unique design. Overall, we were very happy to have Simma's be a part of our special day!

This was very frustrating to me because they are the professionals and should have prompted us with a numbers reminder (especially because that was said would happen at our meeting) but we got the amount of cake we needed for an additional $35. We LOVE LOVE their bakery. Always making a point to go in whenever we are in town. No deal of free anniversary cake like other bakeries but we have already bought a 8" round cheesecake for my family party so we will get one for our anniversary.
We are appalled by the customer service we received from Simma’s. We booked with them 6 months ago for a wedding in July 2018. Just this morning, we received a phone call that Simma’s will be closed during that time and they have now cancelled ...
our order. We are less than 7 months from the wedding with no cake or sweets table. During this phone call, they made no effort to correct this mistake. Turns out, they close down that time of year every year but failed to figure this out until now. They have now made it our problem to resolve and offered no suggestions or help. We would have appreciated a call from the owner or even them working with a new vendor we selected to ensure they could duplicate what we had ordered. There are a number of ways they could have handled this to make this situation better but the way they chose to inform us just made everything worse. We had been so excited to select them as a vendor and so loved their food.
UPDATE: we just received a call from the owner who offered an excellent solution. Something we would have expected to receive when we first heard this news. We appreciate her call and chance to discuss our options - much better service.
Great service! The process was seamless, we had no issues whatsoever. The cake was delicious, somewhat on the pricey end though.
