. Not only is he super professional and organized in all of his communication and planning leading up to the big day, but he’s also just a dang cool guy. We had so much fun at both our engagement session and of course at the wedding. He sets the perfect vibe every time by bringing the best energy. He makes you feel calm and relaxed, but also hyped up and energized at the same time. You can tell he is so passionate about what he does and goes above and beyond. Like he even laid down in the dirt to get a cool shot of us with the trees above us. Seriously he is THE BEST. And all of the photos are absolutely gorgeous! The photos perfectly captured our personalities and our relationship. Looking through the photos I can just still feel the energy of the day and how much fun it was. through Instagram because my then fiancé and I wanted to do our engagement photoshoot in Asheville. Fortunately, he travels! He arrived bright and early all the way to Durham, NC, and had the lovely Chris assisting him that day. Simon has an incredible fun personality that is down to earth and puts you at ease on a generally anxiety provoking day. He is so professional and efficient (he was so organized for our family portraits). Finally, you just know from his work and how he’s shooting during the event that you’re in good hands. I felt so comforted knowing that all the shots and more (he’s got the most creative eye and ideas!!) that I wanted were being captured. My now hubby and I could just be in the moment. Just two days after our wedding he shared a sneak peek of our photos (77 pictures!!) and I fell in love with every single one.

We also love everything from the rest of the night from dances and food and speeches and everyone just having a great time. Hi wire overall is such a cool venue and he had great spots to really capture that space from the artful walls, to beer can stacks and more. Honestly, afterwards we know Simon was the best vendor we had. There were a couple things that went wrong in different areas and he was so good at distracting us from these issues. For example - we did our own music which cut out at one point. At the same time he gave us a camera to take some photos of our own around the venue of our loved ones and really whatever we wanted. As the bride, this helped me not focus on what could’ve been a stressful moment (the music was fixed too no worries). I also believe he helped keep the event on track and flowing from pre-ceremony through the event. While we didn’t choose to have him there the full day, if it’s in your budget, just do it. You won’t regret it.

so very nice. Having him there felt like having a new friend there instead of a random stranger taking pictures of us all day. We had a daylight time crunch because of the time of our ceremony and he kept the families moving for family portraits so we could get our other important pictures in before dark, which we really appreciated. Picture turn around time was fast; we even got one of our sneak peaks back the night of the wedding! I would hire him all over again and I highly recommend him.

But, as my husband and I flip through our engagement and wedding pictures, we are quickly transported back to that transformative time in our life. d boy was I lucky. His rates were very competitive and he was responsive when I asked for his vendor recommendations as well as prompt to answer any questions I had. We had multiple phone conversations, but due to this being a destination wedding I met him on my wedding day about 15 minutes before “getting ready photos”. He was kind, patient, and efficient. I had a list of must take photos I wanted to complete prior to the ceremony and he staged and took beautiful photos of the wedding party faster than I can take a picture of my just my dog. He had the list in his hand and always looking around for the best shot based off the surroundings. During the night he was EVERYWHERE, capturing so many candid photos which mean so much to us: from the dance floor, to sunset photos, to the sparkler exit. He even got some professional photos complete for our friends at the venue. My husband and I had never gotten professional photos taken before, but Simon knew what to say to get us to laugh or place us in poses that didn’t feel forced or awkward.
