Lanie, our photographer with Simply Bleu Weddings, went above and beyond from start to finish to ensure our vision for the wedding was carried through and captured to a T! I did not have any connections in the photographer department, and Lanie came recommended through my venue, The Local Ark. So I decided to call and inquire on pricing and availability. To my surprise, she wanted an in person meeting, which I thought was a nice detail that I did not receive from other photographers. From the moment I met Lanie, she made me feel special and heard. She put me at ease with her sweet personality, as well as ensuring me that she would work WITH me to capture all of the poses and family combinations I desired (which she did and then some!). Along with her competitive rate, I chose Lanie because she created a lasting impression with me. She is genuine, both in conversation and through her work. It gave me peace of mind to know I had hired a very capable and talented photographer. Between our meeting and wedding day, Lanie was always available and very responsive via emails, texts, and calls with last minute questions or other ideas that I had. On wedding day, Lanie arrived on time and was precise with photos according to the schedule which we laid out beforehand. That helped the day run so smoothly! Lanie was the photographer for our wedding at the Virginia Living Museum. She is every bit professional, but also brings a very personal touch, helping us decide things we couldn't figure out ourselves. She listened and helped guide us along. We highly recommend her!

Lanie is very easy to work with. She is sweet and cheerful. Makes you feel comfortable posing and smiling. Also doesn’t hesitate to tell you about stray hairs, peeping bra straps, and other things you can’t see but don’t want in your pictures! She is excellent at posing, at finding the most flattering angles, and at using the light to capture the most beauty. She is so cheerful that she brings out natural smiles and happy faces. We didn’t feel awkward or self-conscious at all during our shoot. My fiancé normally hates having his picture taken, but he had a good time and felt relaxed as well! Highly recommend her for your wedding or any other photos you want taken!

Not only did Lanie work with whatever setting she had, but she also went above that and sought out the perfect scenery for the perfect outdoor pictures. Lanie responded to the stress of the day with poise and professionalism. She came prepared, which was demonstrated in the quality of her pictures.
