Simply Elegant Rentals

We hired Simply Elegant Party & Event Rentals to deliver, set up, and remove a chuppah for our October 2021 wedding. The chuppah that was supplied was exactly like the one that we had seen online. One thing that we did not notice beforehand was that the chuppah did not have a roof. Simply Elegant Party & Event Rentals was timely, professional, and very affordable for their services.

The Simply Elegant Team was an absolute dream to work with! From the beginning, they were great about making sure I had everything I needed for my guests. They were always quick to accommodate any changes, and made the set-up and breakdown process a breeze. Such a breeze, I never even actually saw them! Which is how it should be for a bride on her wedding day. All of the rentals were in great shape and looked exactly as I had imagined. I would highly recommend Simply Elegant for your wedding rental needs!

Disclaimer: Services were never provided as our wedding was cancelled. This review is based on our experience working with Kimberly at Simply Elegant Rentals for over a year. We decided to go with Simply Elegant for our rentals as their rental fees were much more affordable than other SC rental companies and they had some really neat rental items I hadn’t seen elsewhere. However, the website was very glitchy, photos and dimensions were missing on many of the items, and almost every time you clicked on an item to zoom in and see it up close, a new window would pop up with a picture of something completely different (I think it was a candelabra). Seeing that our wedding was a destination wedding and we don’t live in SC, it was very frustrating when trying to look at items more in depth. Some things that were advertised on the website were not even accessible to view since the page didn’t open or again, it navigated to a completely different page. It would also take over a week (sometimes several weeks) for her to respond to our email inquiries and phone calls. Her reasoning was that all of our emails ended up in her spam folder and that she fixed it, but the same thing apparently happened again months later. When it came time to make the difficult decision to cancel our wedding a second time due to COVID and we asked about receiving our full deposit back, she withheld more money than necessary even though we held up our end of the contract and cancelled well within the 2 week window (we cancelled over 2 months in advance). When we saw her email that said we wouldn't be receiving our full deposit, we tried to contact her to discuss our refund via phone but the voicemail at the office was full. We called her for several days hoping someone would answer. She chose to ignore us and just sent us a check that was less than our full deposit. She also sent us an invoice to show that our order was closed, again with no discussion, and we noticed she had added new reservation and cancellation policies at the bottom of the invoice. We presume our inquiries and the legalities surrounding our situation were the catalyst for those new policy changes. We believe it was completely unfair and unprofessional to handle it the way she did. We would not recommend this vendor to other couples and suggest going with a different rental company even if they are more expensive just to save you the headache.

Our wedding was supposed to be in April 2020, sadly we had to postpone due to COVID. The staff at Simply Elegant was very accommodating in making sure we were able to move our wedding to a new date. We recently had to adjust our order to accommodate a smaller group of guest, and again Simply Elegant was there to accommodate. We ended up with a smaller backyard wedding with just family. We are so happy we choose Simply Elegant for our rentals. The products were clean, prompt, and pricing was amazing. I can't say enough about this company and the way they supported us through this stressful time!

We used Simply Elegant to provide the tables, chairs, linens, etc. for my wedding this past weekend. Every interaction we had with them was simple and easy, from the first phone call to the very end. Their set up and take down crew were great; they were friendly, prompt and got the job done. One of the set up guys even offered to help my aunt when she was struggling putting up some decorations. They are competitively priced and easy to work with. I highly recommend them.

Do not waste your time. I've been going back and forth with this company for months trying to work out a contract and am moving on at this point. Nice enough in emails and sometimes I can get a quick response but often I get no response at all. Now that I've seen others reviews, I'm glad it didn't work out.

DO NOT USE!!! Not all of the items we ordered were delivered for our wedding and the customer service at this place is terrible

they were super responsive to any questions I had and very flexible with all the changes we made! They did a great job with the tent, lighting and had absolutely everything we needed for the wedding we envisioned!

The absolute worst customer serv ice ever. We had planned an outside wedding in Isle of Palms, SC the weekend of September 8th, the same weekend Irma was to hit the east coast. We tried out best to reschedule the wedding a day earlier so we could have the wedding but had to cancel plans because of evacuation announcements for the area. We dealt with two caterers in the area who refunded all of our money because of the evacuation announcement. Simply Elegant stuck to their contract and kept 25 percent of our money for the rental equipment even though they would not have been able to deliver the rental equipment or pick it up according to our original agreement because of the weather. Bad, bad, bad customer service. They told us to file a dispute with our credit card company which we have done.

Everything was initially great! However the coffee pot we rented did not work so that ruined our "coffee bar" that we were so excited about. We bought a table, tablecloth, chalkboard, and a few other things were purchased for this coffee bar. And because it was all opened and set out we lost close to $100 because we could not return this items due to them already being reserved and opened. Now Simply Elegant did refund the cost of the coffee pot, but when we asked about the other items they did not help us. In my opinion they were very unprofessional dealing with this. I believe they could have handled things much better to help make up for our loss. They were unapologetic when we finally had to call because they'd completely ignored my email (it's been 4 days). I question their integrity and customer service. I'd suggest going elsewhere with a company who is more professional and checks their items before renting them out. UPDATE: We actually drove out to Simply Elegant which is an hour away from our home because they said they would refund the items, but after that long drive, they did not refund everything, even the chalkboard which we had a receipt for (as they asked), or the tablecloth we rented from them. We used just as much money in gas, and it was a waste of our time. I am not someone who generally posts negative reviews, but I would caution others of our experience.

The most accommodating and nicest staff! Everything was perfect.

We used Simply Elegant for our rentals for our October wedding. They were super accommodating,easy to work with and very affordable. They were able to deliver our items the day before the wedding so that we could get everything set up early and were very prompt with pickup. They also allowed me to make changes to our item numbers last minute after our wedding had to be rescheduled due to a hurricane. I would definitely recommend them!

My wedding was 4/9/16 at the Francis Marion hotel. My husband and I rented the colonnade archway from this company and it came in 10 pieces in what I soon found out was very special bags. My husband picked the structure up, dropped it off to the staff at the Francis Marion. The next time we saw it was at the alter. The bags that this structure came in were misplaced BY THE STAFF AT THE FRANCIS MARION. Simply elegant rentals proceeded to harass me and my family during my entire honeymoon, threatening to charge our credit card for a ridiculous amount of money for the misplaced bags, never giving us any type of understanding that the staff misplaced the bags and not us. The even told us they would charge us for damages that other renters caused due to the fact that the structure was returned without the bags. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. We were in Mexico on our honeymoon trying to celebrate our new marriage but could barely enjoy the first few days due to the stress caused by simply elegant rentals repeatedly calling and harassing me, my parents and my brother in law about these bags, all while basically refusing to speak with the Francis Marion about the bags! The couldn't have cared less that we were on our honeymoon, even after BEGGING them to allow me to handle this when we were back in the US. In the end, the Francis Marion owned the loss and paid for the bags. My husband and I never received a follow up call, email or text. No apology for the disgusting threats to charge our card thousands of dollars for 10 mesh bags that protected a plastic cheap structure. If you use this company, make sure they deliver and pick up their own goods or you and YOUR FAMILY as well may be subject to harassing phone calls if anything at all is lost. I would not recommend this company to a stress out, wedding planning couple. A little humanity is nice.

Kimberly and the rest of the Simply Elegant Team were really amazing to work with! They provided everything for our wedding day from the chairs (which they let me switch out chair pad colors) to farm tables and round tables with linens to dishwater and all decor. They draped the interior of our venue with 2 huge 96 foot swags of fabric which was STUNNING! Outside we had a 60 foot tent with draping and 3 crystal chandeliers with one more chandelier strung between 2 trees over head for our ceremony spot. We made changes all the way up to the day before and they were so accommodating and made everything just perfect! With additional touches of a bench and accent pillows in our colors we really felt like they cared were were so thoughtful. They have everything you need for a beautiful wedding day.

We visited this rental place and loved Kim and her mom. They were so helpful and accommodating and flexible!! They were able to provide all of the rental things we needed and you could tell they actually cared and wanted to make sure that everything was pefect! They came to set up and break down everything. It was all perfect and I would highly recommend this company!!

Without a doubt I highly recommend this vendor. Their wedding rentals were nice and clean, they had such a variety of wedding arches and candabras to chose from. The delivery and set-up crew made sure that everything was where I wanted it to be. Service was impecable and the staf were very friendly. The cost for their rentals were also outstanding in comparison to some of the other vendors in the area. The only thing was I wish that they were open on Sundays for rental returns!!

After searching everywhere for just the right place... I walked into this shop.. Kim brougt out everything I could have needed from size to color. I knew I was in the right place. She had all of the tables,chairs, ribbons, linens, bows,canopy ,candles... everything. Her thoughts an ideas were exactly what the bride and groom wanted to make their wedding a success. She set it up beautifully, and took it down efficiently afterwards. I will recommend Simply Elegant to everyone.

I needed chairs and tables for a reunion, called several different locations, Simply Elegant had the best prices and was closest to the location of the party. I was concerned because of the last minute timing but they had everything I needed available without a reservation. Thanks!

A friend/co-worker of mine told me that he and his common-law wife finally decided to get married. I knew of Simply Elegant Event Rental because I work in the same area and suggested SE. to him. He told his CL wife and her mother about my recommendation. The soon to be mother-in-law went in and talked to Kimberly. She rented all their wedding supplies (tables, linens, chairs, columns and arch) from Simply Elegant and had them delivered and also picked up. The wedding was beautiful and SE.'s service was prompt. I would recommend them again without hesitation.

Since I live in the Summerville area this company was very convenient for me. I got all of my linens from them. Unfortunately they did not have the exact color I was hoping for but the staff helped me pick a color that would coordinate well, and it did! Everything looked great after it was all put together. Thanks to the folks at Simply Elegant for steering me in the right direction, I couldn't have done it without you!

In this economy, money is more of a concern than ever, so I did a lot of checking. Prices were the best around. My daughter liked the service and everyone seemed happy with the outcome. Would recommend to anybody.

I found this company while looking for candelabras for my wedding. They had a huge selection of candle holders and they had them in silver, which was hard to find in Charleston! I agree with the other reviews, they did have good prices! I also ended up renting tablecloths and table runners. We had everything delivered and it was all on time and in great condition. They also picked up later that night with no problem. I would suggest giving them a try!

I enjoyed working with this company very much. The staff was so friendly and made everything stress free and easy. Best thing about them is they had great prices! I looked at other companies in Charleston and this company had much cleaner and nicer rental items. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for their wedding, I know they saved me money and everything looked great!

Used Simply Elegant for a party had great service so I am going back to have a wedding. They are very helpful and have clean, neat stuff.

When my daughter and I entered Simply Elegant Rentals we were greeted with a young lady that was friendly and had alot of knowledge of weddings. She gave us many ideas and we ended up doing a totally different theme. We will be going back to some more planning and I recommend this place to all of you.

Rented cocktail tables from this company. The tables were in great condition and came in neat bags that kept everything for one table together and organized, great idea! It made setting up much easier. I will be back for my next event!

My fiance and I wanted to get married before my father passed away. As his conditioned worsened quickly we had to make a fast decision and I contacted Simply Elegant on a Tuesday and by Saturday (yes...in only 4 days!!!!) they helped me have my dream wedding. They went above and beyond and helped me with every little detail and were very affordable and accomodating. Their linens and decorations, tables, chairs, etc. are all very clean and in excellent condition! They have lanterns, overlays, chair sashes, candles..absolutely everything to add those special touches and make your special day even more special and stunning. Kim Newman, the owner, is such a warm and wonderful person and is really willing to help and offer ideas and suggestions. She loves what she does and is very good at it and will help guide you in the right direction to give you the wedding of your dreams. The quality of the items they rent and the personal attention they offer make this company exceptional and such a pleasure to work with. I recommend them to everyone!

My daughter and I visited Simply Elegant and found the most delightful young woman, Kim Newman. She is very well informed about all asspects of a wedding. She helped us remain on budget and get everything we wanted for the wedding. We rented tables, chairs, table linens, chair covers, overlays and sashes,china, glassware and flatware. My daughter's wedding was outdoors and late evening and the candleabras and lanterns were really beautiful. Kim has a personal touch that makes you feel that everything will come off just as you want it to, and it did. My daughter and I, both, are so happy we found Simply Elegant. We will certainly use Simply Elegant again for any family event or gathering we may have. Thanks Kim!!!

Everyone was very easy to work with. They gave me lots of great ideas and helped me through the entire ordering process. I rented chairs, linens, and china. Everything was in great condition and clean and best of all affordable!! They really took the time to help me pick out colors and fabrics that would work well with the look I was going for.
