Working with Ashlyn and Layton was so so great! We hired them for day-of-coordination for around 100 person wedding at the Botanical Gardens in Chapel Hill, NC. They were amazing day-of and truly so helpful in the whole planning process, from trouble shooting our timeline, providing guidance for how we wanted the ceremony to go, and communicating with all of our vendors. They were responsive, kind, professional, and our wedding day was truly seamless because of them! The best part was how perceptive they were and stepped in to help with any problems that arose. I can only give the highest praise to Ashlyn and Layton for making my wedding a beautiful and stress-free day. I remember asking Ashlyn in Fall 2022 to help me plan and execute my May 2023 wedding as I noticed how thoughtful, thorough, and kind she was in everything she did. Layton is her right hand man and went above and beyond to ensure my wedding day sound/music was working. Ashlyn and Layton have also coordinated another wedding my husband and I attended recently and everything was executed perfectly. They continue to perform their services to the best of their abilities which not only makes them the best kind of support for an engaged couple looking to have a wonderful wedding day, but demonstrates that their quality of work continues to improve and will meet any couple’s wedding needs. Like a fine wine, their services and expertise get better and better over time. Her interest in this started with her own wedding. Somewhere in the middle of planning it, she realized she genuinely loved the puzzle of it including the logistics, the vendor emails, figuring out how a day should flow. What she didn't love was how much of that a bride has to carry on the actual wedding day. That's the whole reason Simply Smith exists. She's a physical therapist by trade, which turns out to be surprisingly good training for this: she's spent years reading a room, staying calm when things go wrong, and taking care of people on days that matter to them. Couples tend to describe her as the person who thought of the thing nobody else thought of. Outside of weddings, she's usually with Layton and their dog, listening to Taylor Swift, or planning the next trip with family and friends.
