The AMAZING:
1) The process for determining what music for the quartet to play was SO EASY - they have a list of songs they have played in the past that they would be able to play ...
again. I was able to set out exactly what I wanted and for what portion of the ceremony.
2) I cannot tell you the amount of compliments I got on the quartet. I was very busy during this and wasn't able to hear them play during the prelude and postlude, but all my friends and family absolutely thought they did incredible.
The Constructive Feedback:
1) I always envisioned myself walking down the aisle to a specific song. When I asked about it, the work was put back on myself to find piano music for it. I wasn't able to and didn't have the knowledge to build the sheet music myself. Weston was unable to make this work or draw up something himself, so I was not able to walk into my dream song. I was able to find a song on their list that was beautiful to walk into. I was hoping that the talented team would've been able to help me with building this 30 second string piece, but I was mistaken.
Overall, I am incredibly happy that I hired Simply Strings - they sounded gorgeous in the ceremony space and my guests raved about them.
When imagining my wedding day all my life, I always dreamed of having a string quartet and always knew the song I would walk down the aisle to.
Simply Strings made that dream a re...
ality and exceeded all expectations. From the planning, to the lovely people you get to work with, to the actual day, they're just so amazing at what they do. We only had them for our ceremony but so many people said how lovely they were and truly made the ceremony that much more special.
We highly recommend Simply Strings for your wedding or event!! And a huge thank you to them for everything they've done!
I'm so glad I went with this string quartet for my wedding ceremony. Weston was friendly and professional, showing up for the wedding rehearsal in order to talk through logistics ...
and get the lay of the land in advance. During the ceremony, the quartet expertly extended and shortened my selections (Celtic/Folk/Fiddle - although they have a LARGE repertoire) for the processional based on how long it took people to get down the aisle. And even without amplification, everyone was able to hear them with no problems.
This quartet travels with its own canopy, which turned out to be important, as it did rain leading up to our outdoor ceremony - and it was so nice with everything else going on in those last few hectic moments of pulling everyone in under the tent, I didn't have to worry about the instruments getting wet.
I also was shocked at how affordable a high-quality string quartet can be. All in all, Five Stars. These guys nailed it.
