Wow - absolutely DELICIOUS!! I had tasted Jessica's treats back when we had a storefront in Petoskey and knew from the moment I got engaged that our cake was going to be by her. There was just no other option. When we did the tasting, my fiance quickly agreed. Everything Jessica bakes is great, but we went with a 2 tier cutting cake and mini cupcakes for our big day. Honestly, cutting/tasting the cake was one of the things I looked forward to most on our wedding day. On top of the cake being gorgeous (floral atop by Carriage House Floral Design) and exactly what we imagined, it was absolutely delicious. More-so than we even remembered - to the point I made my mom (a sweet feen like myself) come over during our cutting and taste it! Jessica also let us know how to accurately preserve our top tier for our anniversary....so helpful and already counting down the days until we eat it! The only regret I have is getting pulled all over during the night and not getting any cupcakes :( I think about this quite frequently...that's how good they are. Recommend Simply Sweet to anyone who wants fantastic sweets on their big day!

Jessica's cake for our wedding day was OUTSTANDING! Design-wise it was everything I wanted and turned out gorgeous! Taste-wise it was delectable and my guests couldn't get enough of it. There were no leftovers except the top of the cake that I already can't wait to have on our anniversary. Our flavors were chocolate PB (our favorite!) and salted caramel. Jessica was super sweet to work with and was able to create a delicious dessert bar for our 9/23/23 wedding!!! We requested cinnamon rolls and she delivered! They were a hit along with everything else. A bit on thé pricier side but you definitely get quality product.

Jessica created fabulous cakes for our wedding! Our wedding cake was delicious, and exactly what we requested visually. She made a special grooms cake, and the attention to detail was amazing. Both cakes brought the “wow” factor! I highly recommend Jessica for your wedding desserts!

Jessica was great to work with for our Walloon Lake Wedding. She set up a gorgeous dessert table for us. Our guests loved the assortment and everything was delish. My only regret is not eating more!

We ordered a cutting cake and mini cupcakes from Jessica, and they were DELICIOUS. Even 5 days after the wedding, eating our leftover cake, every bite is followed by disbelief at how good it tastes! Beautiful cake work and amazing flavors. We just can't get enough!

Jessica is fantastic! As a bride with a gluten allergy I was finding it difficult to find a baker that could work with my dietary needs while also creating something delicious and beautiful. Jessica did just that! We opted for a non-traditional "cake" that was actually two macaroon towers in various flavors and floral decorations to match our reception design. Not only was it stunning, but each one was delicious. The Michigan cookies we added on to include in our welcome bags were also a guest favorite and my husband may have stashed a few in the freezer for future enjoyment. Jessica was easy to work with, prompt with responses and so flexible. I can't recommend her enough!

Simply Sweet by Jessica made muffins for us for our guests to take for the next day - and let me tell you we had txts pouring in that morning telling us how amazing these muffins were! I almost didn't want to share with my new husband :) Customer service is top notch, she is so kind, and her work was wonderful! Thank you Jessica!

We are so lucky we found simply sweets by Jessica! Our wedding was beautiful but also tasted amazing as well. We also had a desire table setup - and were so lucky that Simply Sweets was able to provide us with all of the fun and pretty dessert decor / setup stands etc. It might it super easy for us not to have to worry about that decor or have to deal with renting separately. Highly recommend!

Jessica was super easy to work with and was easily available to discuss different options. We set up a tasting and got to try so many of the different desserts and we got to keep all of the leftovers! We did a dessert bar for the wedding and it turned out absolutely wonderful! So many people commented on how delicious the desserts were. She made it very stress-free and set up during our ceremony.

The most amazing cake you will ever taste. EVER! I wish we didn't have to share it with our wedding guests. Plus, Jessica and her team are the absolute best. PRO TIP: order a bunch of mini cupcakes and do an "at home" tasting with your family / friends. We had a blast eating and ranking our favorites.

From my first bite at our tasting to seeing the beautiful dessert spread at our reception, I was so impressed with Jessica's desserts! We decided not to get a cake and just have a dessert table with cookies, cupcakes, cake truffles, and macaroons. She has a ton of varieties and flavors to choose from! Not only are her desserts delicious, she set up a gorgeous display with tiered platters and trays. They were a HUGE hit at our wedding and I regret not ordering more for leftovers!

Jessica made a wonderful cake for our wedding. It was decorated beautifully and was exactly the way I envisioned it to look. We had two different flavors chocolate raspberry and pumpkin with salted caramel buttercream. Both were fantastic. Jessica's shop is also adorable, we love stopping in when we are in town for a cookie or french macaroon.

Jessica did an incredible job on our dessert table for our wedding. It was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing. She worked with us when we needed an obscure pickup time. We picked up our own desserts and she prepared everything great so that nothing would tip in the car. Our guests loved the desserts and we got tons of compliments on how good it looked. Jessica made desserts and cake for our wedding and they were out of this world (the pumpkin cupcakes are my favorite!!) Not only did everything taste amazing but her display was perfection! Jessica is such a sweet person and you can tell she puts her whole heart into baking and making treats. I have worked weddings for almost 10 year's and Jessica is one of the best out there!! This is not a cake that will look amazing but taste like cardboard, it will taste SUPERB and look beautiful!!! Our experience with Jessica was very professional yet relaxed and fun. We set up our tasting which took place in her shop (adorable by the way). We sampled everything we could possibly want on our dessert table. Everything was eye candy to us! But most importantly it was delicious! As we were enjoying our experience the local town people were popping in an out to pick up their treats and cakes. Clearly Simply Sweet by Jessica has a following... We ordered an over the top Grooms cake made of chocolate with layers of chocolate and peanut butter topped with chocolate pieces. Exactly what we wanted. Mini cupcakes, cookies, macaron's were some of the items Jessica set up on our table with her beautiful selection of platters and tiers for our over the top dessert extravaganza! People are still talking about it! Simply Awesome!

Simply Sweet by Jessica saved our wedding day! At the last minute, our venue said they didn’t have room to refrigerate our cake, so Jessica offered to deliver it and applied fresh flowers in the most beautiful way, so my family and I could enjoy the time together before the wedding. From our first meeting, I could tell how passionate she was about her business, baking, and making her customers happy. She was by far one of my favorite wedding vendors and not just because she served us delicious cake (although she seriously has the best cake)! We were so happy we decided to use Simply Sweet for our wedding cake, cookies, and cupcakes. She truly is the best!

We knew we wanted cupcakes for our wedding at The Perry in Petoskey and we are so glad we chose Simply Sweet! We met with Jessica at her adorable shop in downtown Petoskey and sampled a couple of the cupcakes in the shop which were amazing. Jessica showed us a book of her work to get some ideas as to what we were looking for and took notes based on our likes/dislikes. She suggested a small cake just for us to cut for pictures and we’re glad she did, it turned out beautifully. We are from downstate and didn’t want to have to bring up a lot of décor with us so Jessica supplied the wood slabs for our cake table as well. They fit in perfectly with our theme and she and her team set up everything so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. It was so nice to be able to work with a team of vendors who obviously work together all the time, they just talked to each other to figure everything it out which took a lot of the work off of our plate and was so helpful. We chose the confetti, salted caramel, chocolate and vanilla and they were all so good. We received so many compliments from our guests about the cupcakes, everyone wanted to know where they were from. We would definitely recommend Jessica to anyone getting married in Northern Michigan.

We chose to create a Sweets Table for our wedding reception along with a small tiered wedding cake as the center piece. We did this because Jessica has an eye for design and this sweets table was part of our decor. Her team set everything up and came back to break everything down. I knew if I had her do this that the vision would be executed perfectly and it was! Everything on the sweets table was absolutely delicious! Our guests raved over the cake, the macaroons and mini cheese cakes and cookies. I would advise enjoying a tasting because Jessica has great ideas on traditional and unique flavor pairings and can create a dessert experience that is personalized to your vision and taste buds! We loved the look and taste of sweets she created for our guests and would recommend her services for anyone who wanted a superb culinary delight. Keep in mind this is a small business and on the weekends, Jessica and here team are out delivery sweets to their events. The best time to talk to her and to get a quick email response is during the week. Her hours are posted, and knowing these details will help you manage expectations not only from Simple Sweet but any self owned organization you might choose to work with. I got married two years ago. When I think about this I am still not happy. First, she kept charging $50 for tasting after we already send the deposit which other people will not do, and for only 3 mini cup cakes! I also rent some cake stands from her. When we picked them up on the wedding day, they gave us the ones which look really cheap and are not the ones we selected before. The rental cost was just the same as the purchase price which was shown on the tag at the bottom of the cake stand from target! I give two stars because their cake tastes good at least, but the service sucks and very Over Priced!!!

We absolutely loved our wedding cake - design & taste! Once we knew we were getting married in Petoskey, we wanted to book Jessica right away. She is so talented & the amount of experience she has is easy to see! For our tasting, she had 12+ desserts ready for us, with a portfolio book of her previously wedding cakes. It was so professional and so much fun. We also loved her ideas for extra desserts other than cakes - they were also so delicious! Something I really liked about working with Jessica is that when we wanted to add floral to the cake, she worked with the florist directly. She is so busy and the fact that she took time to do that really meant a lot to us - who were also busy planning the wedding. After the wedding was over we got SO many compliments on how our cake tasted. We had people literally eat 5 pieces each they were so obsessed. :) We couldn't have imaged choosing anyone else & would recommend Jessica to any event in Northern Michigan!

Jessica made our wedding cake and cookies for the reception. Everything so delicious- a bunch of guests have told me how much they enjoyed the cake! One tier was lemon with raspberry filling, and the other was vanilla with cherry filling. The design of the cake was great, too, and had the pop of color in the middle tier we’d requested. Jessica did a wonderful job with our cake. It was absolutely beautifully decorated and a perfect image of what I had imagined it to be. We booked about a year in advance and had a tasting early on in the process. Her cakes are delicious!! The only thing I really wish Jessica was better at was communication. She seemed to have a hard time being reached by either phone or email and sporadically returned messages. Nonetheless, I put my faith in Jessica and it was a beautiful cake.

We initially were not going to have a cake at our wedding but last minute (6 weeks before the wedding) we decided to have one, mainly for the photos. I sent a few photos of what we were thinking of to Jessica via a pinterest board, a very small and simple yet elegant two-tiered cake. Jessica gave us an extremely reasonable price and said that she could still accommodate even due to the tight deadline. Not to mention that the cake was amazing and our guests loved it!! We even liked it and neither me nor my husband are really "cake people". Thank you Jessica!!

Jessica was so wonderful to work with!!! My (now husband) and I went to her shop to do "wedding research" aka just eat her sweets, so many times before the wedding because everything was that amazing. We will continue to visit her shop as often as possible! Literally every piece we ordered for the wedding was gone, and we got a lot!! She did all of our set up and it looked gorgeous!!! Cake turned out awesome! Exactly what we wanted. We went with vanilla bean with buttercream frosting and we received plenty of great reviews from our guests saying how good it was. Living over 3 hours away it made it challenging to schedule a cake tasting when we were in the area. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Communication was fairly easy and was done completely through emails. The only improvement point would be communication of the cost. The cost of the actual cake was communicated early on before booking the vendor however the additional fees were not and for the rentals and transportation fees were just as much as the actual cake. Overall, excellent cake and so glad we used Simply Sweet by Jessica. Definitely will be visiting the bakery in the future!

October 2016 Wedding: First off, Cake was AMAZING! However, that does not preclude her inability to effectively communicate with myself or my family, or the ridiculous pricing for delivery, and incorrect grooms cake. I think she may have too much going on (opening up a new store) to do everything she wants to do. The store hours, while on the building, often appeared to be suggestions, as I attended the shop many times (as well as my family) trying to get into contact with her. I'm glad other people have had better experiences, as I said before the cake is so so good; nevertheless, I won't be going back.

We used Jessica four our daughter's wedding in July 2016. Jessica is amazing as are her sweets. We did a sweet bar and a small cake for the bride and groom. We rented her displays and plates and she did the set up which was beautiful. Our guests raved about her sweets as does everyone who tastes them. She worked within our budget and recommended what to do and not to do to get the most value for our money. Unfortunately, she made but forgot one of our cookies and felt so badly she immediately refunded the cost and the next time we visited our daughter she sent us there with a whole box of her sweets to make up for it! Above and beyond the call of duty. She's an excellent baker and entrepreneur; I highly recommend her. You won't be disappointed.

We had Jessica for our wedding dessert bar and cake. She is so wonderful to work with and her baked goods are amazing. We had chocolate cake with salted caramel layers and buttercream, assorted mini cupcakes, assorted truffles, mini cherry chip and chocolate chip cookies. She delivered on time, decorated our cake with flowers and set up all her delicious desserts on the dessert bar. Everything turned out awesome. I would highly recommend her.

I used Jessica for my 10/2 Castle Farms wedding. Jessica was very helpful in helping us plan and finalize the dessert table with mini cupcakes, cookies and cake! Everything was absolutely beautiful and delicious! Jessica was great to work with and I know I will be back for some more treats some time soon!

We ordered a gluten free couples cake from Jessica for our wedding. Now if you have celiac's or a gluten allergy, you know that wedding cake isn't always, well, I hate this word... moist. Our cake was DELICIOUS. Honestly, not only did I have people coming up to me to tell me how great it was, they had NO clue it was gluten free either, which says something. I ended up eating about 3 slices that night, and then ate the rest throughout our honeymoon. Thank you Jessica and team for making such a work of art for us. We loved working with you!

Jessica did a beautiful dessert table for me! She was very helpful in picking out flavors and a variety of desserts for our guests who all raved about how yummy it all was! Her attention to detail is amazing! She did a U of M football helmet for a groom's cake which was the talk of the night :) Thank you again Jessica!!!

The BEST wedding cake and cupcakes ever. We could not have been happier with our decision to use Jessica for our special day. Our guests raved about the Lemon Raspberry and Salted Caramel cupcakes! We decided to use an old hutch as our display for desserts, and it was beautifully done by Jessica. Anyone getting married up north should swing in to her bakery in Downtown Petoskey to get a sample of all of her delicious creations! Your decision will be easy after one bite!

The cake and mini cookies were absolutely delicious!! The cake was moist and not overly sweet, and the cookies were perfectly chewy. Guests could not stop eating them! Jessica was amazing to work with. She worked with our budget to create the perfect cake for us, and was always extremely friendly and helpful. No question, easiest/best decision ever.

Jessica worked magic for our dessert table - everything was gorgeous, and oh my gosh - every single item was absolutely delicious! She worked closely with the florist and venue to figure out how to best display each item, and it definitely paid off in terms of ambience and photos. The wedding cake was incredible - both in taste and in aesthetics. I wanted a 4 tier peach colored cake, and what she gave me was perfect! Guests are still talking about how good it was. She is also very up-front about the variety/number of items you need to feed the number of people you have. Wouldn't change a thing if I got to do it all over again!

Jessica makes beautiful and delicious cakes. She also has a great selection of display pieces. We were able to rent wine barrels and a fun selection of display pieces which she used to set up our dessert table. It looked amazing!

I was extremely happy with the service I received from Jessica! I found her "on accident" while looking up information from another baker and knew I had to have her bake my wedding cake! She was so easy to work with and my cake was everything I could have hoped for. It was delicious and I had her make a Batman cake for my groom that was INCREDIBLE and he loved it. I never actually met Jessica and was so surprised at how she captured every essence of what I wanted and I was so pleased. She even took care of a cake stand mishap after the wedding (we were supposed to return them but they were left at our venue) and was so sweet about it. She helped make our day perfect. I was very late in booking our cake. Jessica was extremely helpful, responded quickly to my inquiries, and provided us with one of the most delicious cakes I have ever eaten! We had a naked cake: one was chocolate, round tiers, the other a vanilla sheet cake. Both had incredibly rich flavor. We highly recommend her!
