We're so glad to have Michele! We love our photos and are so glad the best moments of our happy day were captured by her. The close-ups and photos of kids are fantastic. Plus Miche...
le is so great to work with! She had cool stories to tell when we met up for the in-advance discussion, and she put everyone at ease (because wedding days can be stressful). Highly recommended!
At the outset, I should disclose that Michele is a friend of mine. That said, when my partner and I decided to get married, we knew that we wanted to hire her as our photographer.

I've followed and enjoyed Michele's work for many years, ever since she was a photographer for my hometown newspaper. Since then, I've watched her grow as a photojournalist and apply the talent she developed in that arena to her work as a wedding and family photographer.
As a same-sex couple, shopping for wedding services can feel a little bit fraught. Thankfully, we didn't have any bad experiences, but along with all the other things to deal with planning a wedding, there's also the anxiety that somebody will be weird about making you a cake with two grooms on top of it or something. Knowing Michele personally as we did, we knew that that wouldn't be a problem, but we were also impressed with her previous work as a photographer at same-sex weddings.
It has been eight months since the wedding, and as I look back at the photos Michele took, I get a real sense of the story of the day. The staged portraits and photos of the ceremony are beautiful, but the thing that really sets Michele's work apart is the candid shots she took before the ceremony and during and after the reception. Together with the more formal shots, Michele's candid work really captured the personalities of the friends and family that made our day so special.
I find that when wedding photography is merely competent, it can have a cookie-cutter quality about it. Michele's work, in addition to being formally excellent, also has an empathetic and perceptive quality that sets her apart. The wedding photos she takes for you won't just be pictures of a wedding, they will be pictures of YOUR wedding.
Michele photographed our wedding and was so, so amazing. The pictures are just gorgeous, and she was great to have around (giving cues for music to start before the ceremony, etc)....
Looking at the pictures I see those small moments that barely registered during the day, represented brilliantly in the pictures. The portraits are great, but she really shined in capturing the event itself, i.e. photojournalism.
I can't believe how much we lucked out in finding her, when it was a bit of a challenge to even convince my fiance-at-the-time that we should hire a photographer in the first place, and we ended up having a relatively small budget. I cannot recommend her enough!
