My husband and I were lucky enough to find this charming little wedding venue/reception area attached to a very large and modern chalet-style rental home that happened to have our ...wedding dates (May 3- May 5, 2024) available for rental. Even though we were only about 7-8 months out from the wedding at the time of booking, a time during which many of the other venues we had looked at were booked up, when the hosts Erica and David were immediately able to accommodate our wedding dates and rent us the property - we were over the moon.
Upon securing the property for these dates, we were sent a list of available wedding-related items on-property such as a wedding arch, table setting counts, and other information that proved helpful in planning the decor and style of the wedding.
This was an all-in-one rental that allowed us to have the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony (the only thing we had to rent was outdoor chairs), the reception (they have built a lovely reception hall on-property), and all of the lodging for our guests (this place can sleep around 30!) all under one roof. We really appreciated this aspect as it kept our guests from having to drive from one location to another, to another, and from having to secure their own sleeping accommodations.
There were many things that made Sky Valley Chateau the perfect wedding rental for us. David and Erica, the hosts, spared no expense in retrofitting this property for the purpose of holding events like weddings. The rooms were numbered (and private, very spacious), the property was extremely clean and well maintained, the reception area boasted lots of counter space, a large fridge for all of the drinks and desserts and leftover food trays, the hot tub was extremely large and easy to operate and proved to be a wonderful place to warm up during the snowier parts of our stay, the private suite usually reserved for the bride and groom was gorgeous and flanked in windows that allowed us to take in the amazing hillside view of Steamboat Springs, and though there are two separate well-maintained lawns that could be used for a wedding ceremony here, their dedicated wedding lawn was green as can be, easy to walk upon for the bride and wedding party, and boasted a pre-built arch as the backdrop for a stunning mountainous wedding ceremony.
One of the things that truly made this stay special was our interactions and communications with the hosts David and Erica. They were accomodating to us for an early check-in when we arrived an hour sooner than expected. David gave us an in-depth tour of the property and its many amenities. When guests brought animals at the last minute that we had not planned on hosting, I informed David who was highly dog-friendly (as long as you DISCLOSE to him any pets that were attending) and immediately worked with me to negotiate a very fair pet fee. After this, the dogs were able to (respectfully) roam the property. This attentiveness and kindness on the part of the hosts remained true throughout the entire stay - anything that came up, as long as we discussed it with them, they immediately found a way to accommodate us.
While the beauty of the property is evident in the listing photos, nothing compared to arriving and seeing the entire property in detail. It was astonishing everything the hosts had thought of when building this place...no detail was forgotten. Thank you Erica and Dave for having us, and for helping to make our day so incredibly special.
