We were in the first wave of weddings affected by COVID-19, in April of 2020. When it became clear that our original plans weren't going to happen, we dove head-first into organizi...
ng a small, intimate elopement ceremony two weeks before our original wedding date. We reached out to Skylar at the last minute to see if she could photograph the day, and she immediately responded with a resounding "yes!" She was warm, kind, super easy to work with, prepared, organized, and of course - she has an incredible eye! She perfectly captured the intimacy, love, and excitement of the day through her camera lens. She showed up in our time of need, and went above and beyond to make to make our last-minute ceremony feel special. We could not be more thrilled with our photos, which we will cherish for years to come!
I found Skylar through instagram as I was searching through wedding photographers in Portland via hashtags. I remember coming across her work and I was in awe of one photo that rea...
lly showcased her ability of shooting and playing with light and shadows. After researching more into her portfolio and following her on insta stories, I just knew she was the photographer for me. And I was not disappointed. I don’t think I can even begin to describe in words how AMAZING our wedding pictures turned out. She was able to use my vision and created exactly the pictures I had dreamed of. She and her husband Jimmy (he was our videographer) are both so warm and friendly, and literally someone you can just sit down and have a coffee with and talk to. I 100% recommend her! Her work is amazing. Do it! You will not regret it!

When it comes to photography, Skylar Coonan could not have taken better pictures of our special day! The colors, the lighting, the spontaneity of the captured moments... they all p...
layed a part in the art seized inside Skylar’s photography. Although Skylar (and her husband Jimmy, the videographer) is a close friend, I have an unbiased opinion on the quality of the photos. It was absolutely a splendid day with my wife, and Skylar’s magic was the icing on the cake!!
Skylar (and her husband) did a photo shoot for my wife, two kids, and me. I was very nervous going in, as my oldest son was barely 3 and my youngest son was only 8 months. Skylar a...
nd her husband Jimmy were so good with the kids, to the point my three year still asks about when we will hang out with them again. They were very patient with waiting for all of us to be ready to get the best shot. We were thrilled with our photos, they were so much better than we thought possible given the challenge of a toddler and a newborn. I would definitely strongly recommend Skylar to anyone.
Skylar was a friend of mine from Bible Study in Florida, and as soon as Austin and I got engaged, we knew we wanted her to do our photos! I had been admiring her work on her instag...
ram page since I had met her back in 2017, and seeing her experience with all of her clients helped me realize that in addition to being an amazing friend, she is a wonderful photographer as well. Before we even booked their flights to come see us, Skylar sent Austin (my husband) and I a questionnaire to get to know each of us a little better as a couple. This is by far my favorite thing that she does in her business! It made us feel so loved and cared for! She then proceeded to send Austin and I each an individualized gift that coincided with what we had written in our questionnaire. I knew Skylar to be such a hospitable person, but I loved seeing it carry over into her business!
The entire process of photos on our wedding day went so incredibly smooth! Skylar and her husband came to our rehearsal dinner and blended in like they were family. The day of the wedding was so peaceful. Skylar was SO professional and so helpful. She showed raw emotion and really made a connection with us both as her friends and her clients. She was fully engaged and present but secretive, careful to not "intrude" on any important moments for specific shots. She was truly there FOR us as her clients.
I have been recommending her to everyone we come in contact with who is looking for a photographer! She's worth it to fly in from Oregon no matter where your wedding is ;) Austin and I couldn't be happier with how Skylar Coonan Photography showered us with love, kindness, and professionalism. 13/10 recommend her!! There needs to be a 10 star button ;)
Skylar (photos) and her husband Jimmy (videography) were the best in capturing our wedding. We can’t wait to display the photos in our home!
Skylar is the best! Always punctual! Always professional and does the most awesome photography of our special moments 😍

She has an incredible ability to not only take remarkable pictures but to make you feel totally comfortable and at ease behind the lens.... not to mention she’s great with getting a two year old toddler to cooperate and even have fun with it! Thank you skylar, so so much for these photos.

I found Skylar while looking for a photographer to take photos for me when my fiancé graduated Basic Training at Fort Jackson, Sc. I really wanted to be able to capture the moments...
when my fiancé’s family and I saw him, while searching for photographers I stumbled upon Skylar. From the moment I messaged her I knew she was going to be phenomenal to work with. We didn’t even meet until the day of, but we instantly clicked and it was as if we had already known each other. I’m so thankful for the time she spent with us to make sure every moment was captured. If I were to every be able to have her take more photographs for us I totally would. Skylar you truly are an amazing photographer. ❤️
