We loved working with Justin. He took the time to understand what we wanted for our vibe and understood the assignment! The ceremony music was beautiful, and he had plenty of options to choose from if you do not have a specific song in mind. As a dj, he kept people dancing and we know our guests had a great time!

Justin was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout my wedding planning process! From our first phone call with him, we had a good feeling about hiring Skylark for both our live music for the ceremony/cocktail hour and Justin to DJ for the reception. He has a very chill vibe which is what we were looking for. I had very niche live song requests for Justin and Jesse to learn for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and they learned them with no problem! I even had some requests a week before the wedding and they were able to learn them. They are both very talented musicians. For the MC portion of the reception, Justin listened to what I was envisioning and executed the day of. Everyone had a blast at the reception and my husband and I barely left the dance floor! Our friends and family are still talking about what a fantastic time they had. I would highly recommend hiring Skylark for all your wedding music needs!

Our wedding could not have gone better, and Skylark music was a big part of that. When we started planning we had another DJ in mind who turned out to be unavailable, but after the first time we spoke with Justin it felt that we found an even better fit than our plan A. The ceremony and cocktail hour music was exactly what we were looking for, and it was easy to see how much fun everyone was having on the dance floor. Justin also did a great job as an MC coordinating with us and other parties to keep everything moving smoothly. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience for us and we'd recommend Skylark Music to others in a heartbeat.

We hired Skylark for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception music and were so happy with the quality of performance that was provided. We knew we wanted a live music component, but were working on a smaller budget, so Justin worked with us so to have a duo present for our ceremony and cocktail hour, followed by him serving as DJ for our reception. He was incredibly communicative, easy to work with, and took our personalities and interests into consideration when finalizing the playlists for our special day. We are so happy with Skylark, and can't recommend them enough!

Justin was everything we wanted from our wedding DJ. He understood our needs (which were on the more low-key side of your typical wedding vibe) better than we did, and he got compliments from our guests both for his live music duo during cocktail hour and his DJing during the reception. Justin & Jesse were amazing! We got married this past October at Blooming Hill Farm, and they made our wedding so special. We had Justin & Jesse play live music for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and then Justin DJ’ed our reception. Right from the start, Justin was incredibly easy to work and communicate with. We didn’t have a hyper-specific vision for our music and Justin was great at making recommendations but also allowing us to personalize things and make it more us. On the day of, they were punctual and so flexible - I think I sent my cut-off times for the first and parent dances the morning of the wedding! We got so many compliments on the live music, our guests were truly blown away by how talented they were. We had a very small wedding (~20 people) and Justin was great at reading the mood on the dance floor. Our guests danced all night long! Can’t recommend these guys enough!

Justin is amazing! We found him when we went to a friends wedding and loved the fact that he did live music for the ceremony and cocktail and then DJ for the reception. We knew immediately we wanted to book him for ours. Justin is very talented and so easy going. He was great with the crowd and really captured the vibe we were going for. A lot of it we told him to use his best judgement and we couldn't of asked for better music. Everyone at our wedding raved about the music and dancing. It was truly a blast for all ages!

Justin and Jesse were incredible! They did live music during the ceremony and cocktail hour and switched over to a DJ for the reception. All was perfect. Very minimal lift on your end in terms of choosing music—just tell them your favorites, what songs you want played at the key times, and you can rest assured it’s going to be amazing. We wanted to find someone who can play live music and DJ and luckily, we found Skylark :) The ceremony and reception went by so fast but the sequencing felt seamless and the music was fitting and created the right mood and atmosphere for our farm wedding and our party centric friends! Skylark Music is everything you want for both a DJ and live musicians! Hiring them for live music and as my DJ was hands down the BEST decision I made! Justin and Jesse played live music for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, and Justin also DJed our reception. They were nothing short of AMAZING. They were on-time, professional, friendly, and well in sync with each other. They are easy to get in contact with, timely with responses, and willing + able to go with whatever vibe you are looking for! They are also incredibly flexible and diverse with music. My husband and I chose upbeat folk for our live music, but they also do pop music covers, jazz, and classical to name a few. My husband and I had some odd song requests (Jump in the Line from Beetlejuice and Congratulations - Post Malone) and not only did they learn it without any questions or difficulty, but they NAILED it! Their hauntingly beautiful live rendition of Across the Universe had everyone (including myself) in tears. Guests at our wedding are still telling me how much they loved the live music and DJ. As a DJ, Justin is very flexible and encourages you to create two separate playlists for both dinner and dancing. He will play ANYTHING you wish- from metal, to eccentric & eclectic, to 80's, rap, R&B, pop, you name it. He was able to read a crowd and keep people on the dance floor. I 100% recommend choosing them as your live musicians and DJ-- you WILL NOT regret it!

Absolutely perfect! We could not have imagined a better experience booking a band for our intimate Catskills wedding. Justin and Jesse are so talented and made the process so easy for us. It could not have gone better. Cannot recommend more!!!

We cannot rave enough about Skylark Music! From the moment we spoke to Justin before booking we knew we wanted Skylark for our wedding. Our venue had strict rules regarding live music outdoors but Justin and Jesse worked hard to make our vision come to life and work around the requirements. We knew we wanted live music for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and then a DJ for the reception and Justin and Jesse made that happen seamlessly! We requested specific songs for the ceremony (with a bit of short notice on some) and they accommodated every request, it was absolutely beautiful and truly a dream brought to life! Justin did a phenomenal job as MC/DJ during the reception and our guests had nothing but compliments for him! Immediately after the wedding one of our friends even reached out because they want to book them for their wedding. Truly the best!

We loved working with Justin for our wedding. We had the duo (Justin and Jesse) do live music for our ceremony and cocktail hour with Justin serving as the MC for our reception. Jesse and Justin learned a few songs that were important to us to make our day extra special! We provided a YouTube list for them for our reception seated and dancing to give them a good selection of what we were interested in and they did great at filling in the rest. Justin was so easy to work with and understood desired our laid back wedding DJ style. Would definitely recommend!

We are so glad we booked Skylark for our wedding! Jesse and Justin played our cocktail hour, and then Justin stayed to DJ our reception. They were communicative, open to our thoughts/wants, and the guests thought they were perfect for cocktail hour. We wanted jazzy music, and they suggested the combination of instruments and played music that my musician aunt described as "unobtrusive and pleasant," and said they were at the perfect volume for people who wanted to chat and for people who wanted to listen to the music.

Skylark Music was an amazing addition to our ceremony and cocktail hour. We spoke with Justin several times throughout the planning process, and he was always super gracious, kind, and accommodating. He gave us lots of ideas and was even willing to learn/arrange our relatively obscure choices. The arrangements sounded gorgeous, and getting to walk down the aisle to songs so meaningful to us was an incredible experience. Additionally, my family performed a song during the ceremony, and Justin helped make sure it sounded terrific. The jazzy vibe during cocktail hour was really fun and kicked off the party perfectly. They did a wonderful job at our wedding. They were very accomodating of our special requests so we were able to have exactly the soundscape we wanted. We had them play acoustic arrangements for our ceremony, followed by some jazzy tunes for our cocktail hour. Afterwards Justin switched to DJing for our reception, and everyone loved the music selections! We're still getting compliments from our friends and family for how good these musicians were!

Justin & Jesse were an absolutely perfect band for our Summer Garden Wedding!! They created a Bluesy/Jazzy vibe and even brought their friend who played bass to round out a great Trio. They were fantastic musicians and we highly recommend them for any wedding that wants some soul! We used Skylark music for our church ceremony and cocktail hour. We initially booked them pre-pandemic and they were luckily open for our new wedding date and were more than willing to accommodate. Their communication was stellar. I cannot say enough good things about their responsiveness and willing to help. My husband and I had a Catholic ceremony. Jesse was extremely helpful in providing us recommendations and telling us what would work well. On wedding day they showed up on time and played music as our guests were entering the church. They also were able to go to our venue afterwards to play for cocktail hour. As requested, Jesse and Justin played mainly jazz and added some Disney flare per our request. Our guests kept telling us how much they enjoyed listening to Jesse and Justin during cocktail hour and how they added a nice ambiance. Our only regret is that we did not have more time to listen to them on a busy wedding day. I would highly recommend Skylark music for any event. Thank you Jesse and Justin!

We had our July 31st wedding at The Roundhouse. Skylark Music was the perfect addition to our event! We had them play as our guests arrived and for our ceremony. We had them play just the romantic part of “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” by Billy Joel for the groom/family processional. They played “Dark Side of the Gym” by The National for the bridal processional and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by Queen for the recessional. It seems like they will do just about anything - and they have great suggestions if you’re not sure what you want. We got so many compliments from our guests on their music and their vibe. They were flexible, accommodating, punctual, and responsive to inquiry. We think Skylark Music added so much to our event and are so glad we booked them!

Skylark played live music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and we also used them as our reception DJ. Planning a wedding, even a small one like ours, can be stressful, but Skylark made the process so easy. Leading up to our wedding they were super helpful, communicative and responsive, making sure that we were prepared. They played our ceremony and recession songs beautifully, and even helped us figure out the best point in the song to start walking down the aisle. The live cocktail hour music was also great: it was tasteful, classy, fun and incorporated our song requests. After cocktail hour Justin stuck around and Dj’ed the wedding, he did a great job of matching the vibe of the crowd - even though we had a small intimate wedding with no dance floor, many people got out and started dancing! Would highly recommend working with Skylark - they make the process fun and easy and their love and knowledge of music truly shows!

Justin and Jesse were a pleasure to work with! They played music for our small ceremony in April of 2021, and made it feel so special. They both were really responsive and they helped us pick the perfect music for our ceremony. Our guests told us how much they enjoyed the music while waiting for the wedding to begin. Justin & Jesse performed for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and first dance song, and they were wonderful to work with throughout the entire 2 year planning process and pandemic-caused reschedules. I gave them quite the variety of specific songs, and they nailed it, from Hotel California to an unknown Nashville country song. I felt like the vocals on our first dance song were a little muffled, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who felt that way. Overall, a great job from this talented duo.

Skylark is the best choice for a wedding - these guys can do it all! For our ceremony and cocktail hour, Jesse and Justin played live music. They crafted wonderful arrangements for the processional and recessional music, and filled the room and garden area perfectly during the cocktail hour. Many guests mentioned how impressed they were by the variety of instruments they play and their custom arrangements! For our dinner and reception, Justin stayed and DJed. He played a great selection of songs for dinner, but really lit up the dance floor for the reception. We had a small wedding of only 50 people and were worried that few people would dance, but this was far from the case! Justin reads the crowd masterfully and intersperses party classics with your music tastes seamlessly like he can read your mind. Thank you for the best party of our lives!

I cannot say enough good things about Skylark Music. They were one of the best vendors we had at our wedding. Jesse and Justin were professional, prompt, flexible, and amazing performers as well. They listened to all of our ideas and brought our vision to life. They arrived in a monsoon of a rainstorm to set up and never complained. Thankfully we had a pavilion, otherwise, it would not have been possible. I know that multiple guests asked for their information to book them for a future party. They were truly amazing and responsive throughout the entire process. While our wedding day was beautiful, the music that inspired it made it that much better.

We hired Skylark to perform the ceremony and cocktail hour music for our wedding and they were amazing.! We were able to communicate with them efficiently and hash out our “music vision.” Unfortunately, due to issues with our shuttle buses our wedding had to be delayed by an hour and a half, but luckily Justin and Jesse were there to keep the guests that had arrived entertained with their music while they waited. I also appreciated that they learned the songs that I envisioned my bridal party and I walking down the aisle to, which helped make the moment even more magical. My now husband and I were very happy with their services and would hire them again!

We learned of Skylark just from the internet and are very happy to say we picked the prefect group. Skylark was everything we hoped for. They are wonderful musicians and lent just the right atmosphere to my daughter's brunch- under- tents wedding. They were very responsive to any questions we had and gently guided us through our selections for the ceremony and reception. And they are resonably priced. Justin and Jesse performed at the outdoor cocktail hour for our wedding held in the Hudson Valley, and we were thrilled to have them play for us. Both my wife and I have a long history in the jazz scene (and played brass instruments in various groups into college), so we were thrilled to have Skylark Music perform a variety of classic jazz standards (and a few newer numbers) that were meaningful to us. Their repertoire is impressive, and the flexibility to perform songs as either accompanied vocal works or instrumental duets was likewise a big draw for us. Furthermore, they were always very responsive to our messages, friendly, and professional. If we held another event we wanted to make classy and enjoyable, we'd definitely contact Skylark again!

We hired Justin for our wedding at The Garrison on St. Patricks Day 2019. Amazing! The hiring process was very simple, and Jesse was very easy to work with. Jesse and his crew were on time, set up in an awesome area, worked well with the wedding coordinator and put on an amazing performance. The guests, children, everyone throughly enjoyed the music. The music at our venue sounded exactly how it did on Jesse's website or even better. I would highly recommend Jesse for any wedding!

Justin and Jesse were THE BEST. Working with Skylark was actually the one thing in all the wedding planning that was simple, straightforward, and not at all stressful. They clearly laid out for me what I needed to pick out, made great suggestions when I couldn't decide, and were incredibly accommodating in learning new songs and playing with multiple instruments for the arrangements I desired. We hired Justin and Jesse to play our ceremony and cocktail hour. My husband and I are both musicians and we were very impressed by their talent. We loved their "bespoke" style of jazz, classics, and folk which fit perfectly with our rustic, barn wedding. Justin was very nice to work with and help coordinate everything. Plus, since they're based upstate, they were much cheaper than musicians in NYC. Overall, wonderful guys who add a unique touch to any occasion.

Have only the best things to say about Justin from Skylark Music!! We asked them to do one song for our processional, and they were willing not only to travel and make it happen, but asked really specific and insightful questions to make sure that they got everything right when the moment came. And WOW was it effective. Between Justin's guitar and voice and the accompanying mandolin, our song set the perfect tone for the rest of the evening- conveying intimacy and whimsy and a little humor.
