We are so happy we chose to get married at the Sleeping Lady! The scenery is so beautiful, and there are several locations at the resort to choose from for the various wedding events. We received great feedback from our guests about the venue, and it was very convenient for them to stay in the cabins at the resort. Jena was amazing to work with, she was easy to communicate with and was able to provide helpful advice throughout the planning process. All of the food was amazing, and there were many options to choose from for our dinner. The Sleeping Lady is such a special place, and we felt honored to be able to get married there!
So beautiful! The chapel is a beautiful space for a ceremony or reception! Tons of outdoor spots with gorgeous views for photos. The desserts were incredible and the service was good! Our event coordinator was easy to work with, very responsive, and focused on our vision. It's an incredibly beautiful area, perfect for a destination mountain wedding weekend! Amazing accommodations for out of town guests as well, plenty to do in the city of Leavenworth, Washington as well!!
Fantastic place to get married! It wasn’t magical and the staff was amazing.
I had both my ceremony and reception there. It was gorgeous! And the staff is amazing - I love Rachel and Michael was an amazing officiant. I highly recommend this place. I had a winter wedding (which was stunning! but summer weddings are wonderful too).
If you are looking for a great location with amazing support staff (and delicious food) choose Sleeping Lady!
The location of Sleeping Lady Resort is amazing. Right at the bottom of Icicle Canyon, the outdoor stage looks right up to the mountains with the creek below. We live near Leavenworth but almost all of our guests were coming from out of town so we wanted a place where we could all be together. Because we got married on Sept 4th, the long weekend, we had to commit to 20 rooms for two nights, which was no problem with all the out of town guests.
-Ceremony-We used the outdoor stage. Natural setting is very beautiful, you don't need decorations.
-Salmon Gallery & Chapel Theater-Can be a bit tricky if you have more than 100-120 people, they all can't sit together for dinner. We had 70, so it worked out fine in the Chapel Theater.
Dancing and cocktail tables in the Gallery. Again, don't need a whole lot of decoration since the building is pretty nice.
-Food--The food was AWESOME. Everybody raved about it, and are probably still talking about it. The chefs made everything Gluten Free except one pasta dish at our request. They are very good about working with dietary restrictions.
The thing that disappointed me was the Event Coordinator. She felt more like an order taker and was not super helpful with lots of ideas. I understand every person wants things different, or has a vision, but when I would ask for her opinion she was not very forth coming. When I asked what we might be missing or if she had any advice about things "not" to do, she didn't really say anything. Also, she was not very informed. We had the worst time trying to order our beer (kegs). She knew nothing about beer at all, which completely shocked me since she has been a coordinator for 3 years.
When we initially went to look at the venue, we talked with the head guy of the event staff, and he also wasn't very informed about set up of the Salmon Gallery.
The sound system for the ceremony sounded like it might have been a mess. Luckily we have a musician friend who showed up early with extra equipment and worked it all out.
Those issues being said, our wedding was beautiful, the setting was amazing (as are the pictures), food was excellent, and we had a great dance party. It was nice all our friends and family were on site.
My fiancé and I had grandios daydreams about a luxury mountain resort wedding, but when I finally started planning it, it became clear we didn't have the budget to pull off a multi-night shindig without cutting a lot of important corners. I checked prices at Suncadia in Cle Elum, Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop, Shore Lodge in McCall, Idaho and The Lodge at Whitefish Lake in Whitefish, Montana. All these resorts are gorgeous and provide catering; however, they are very, very expensive and large, which means that we would have been a small group in a large pool of guests. At Sleeping Lady Resort we felt like royalty, and their catering food is amazing -- grass fed beef, organic veggies, salads and desserts to die for! They had the best menu out of every high-end resort location we looked into, and it was still the cheapest. Amazing! Their pool and jacuzzi area is a gem. It's like a natural hot spring gushing out of the hillside. Even our guests who were wary of the "resort" aspect were soon letting down their hair and having a blast! Several people compared it to the summer camp environment in The Parent Trap movies. After the rehearsal dinner we even had a bonfire by the river. For the money, this is hands down an amazing deal. We paid for the ceremony site, the reception site, the food and the alcohol but got so much more. No bartender fees even though we had them set up three different bars on the wedding day, no linen fees, and a wedding coordinator who was able to take our flowers and the decorations I made, and transform the venue. We had everything we needed from a microphone for speeches in the dining room to an amazing sound system and lights for our band in the stage area. Sleeping Lady was truly spectacular, and the wedding they made possible for us surpassed all of our expectations!
