From the second we met Blake, all our nerves and anxiety washed away as he helped us seamlessly sink into the scenery. The best way to describe Blake is being ever present with his calm demeanor, but completely invisible when capturing our most raw, genuine moments. That balance of energy and fluidity is hard to come by! ng all the moments and the overall feel, and in helping wrangle us to always be exactly where we needed to be to capture everything we planned to capture (including the amazing sunset photos!). You can see that James loves what he does and takes an immense amount of pride, both in his craft and in making sure his clients are beyond happy. Photos were turned around super fast! James was an absolute dream to work with and he bent over backwards accommodating us with edits and re-edits until we found the exact aesthetic that we liked for every photo. His skill, demeanor and drive to go above and beyond to ensure we were happy with absolutely every step of the process was unparalleled. I cannot recommend him and his work highly enough.

s so lucky to have him photograph both my engagement shoot (for which he drove to SF for) and wedding. Not only did he manage to make my husband and I comfortable in front of the camera, he made my entire wedding party feel great. His style strikes the perfect balance of being easy-going and yet offering helpful direction, and his photos are complex, romantic, and timeless. Our house will be covered in wedding pictures because he gave us so many gorgeous shots we couldn’t possibly just choose a few!

We met the rest of the team on our wedding day with them putting in a long day, including a very long church ceremony. James captured amazing photos Marisol (bride) getting ready, her dress, and bridesmaids. Dylan took photos of AJ (groom) and his guys getting ready, and he also captured the tender moment when he first saw the bride when everyone else was focused on her. Dustin did a great job with the video recording of the ceremony and reception. He put together a great highlight video (~5 minutes) that we could share with family and friends. Upon a special request, he also took the time to put together an hour long video just for us. James was there with us for almost 12 hours, until we left at the end of the night The entire SLOtography team was great to work with and worth every penny to capture the moments of our big day. So many family and friends felt the team captured the moments and atmosphere that slipped by us as the bride and groom. We really enjoying working with James and the SLOtography team. Our family is growing and would definitely make the drive from LA to SLO to have James take our family photos.

Y penny. The two of them work so well as a team the confidence and experience they have will immediately put your hectic mind at ease. But most importantly our pictures and video are breath taking. My husband and I hired them for our “elopement” they had 2.5 hours to capture and develop what they usually would in 8 hours +. We weren’t disappointed. The magic they worked still blows our minds. Because of Blake and Dustin we can relive our wedding over and over. We can’t thank them enough.

and scope out some places we could take pictures the day of. He also sent me a list of vendors he has worked with in the past. This was so helpful because we did not live in the area. I ended up choosing about 3 vendors from the list and they were all spectacular! The day of the wedding went prefect. James captured every spontaneous moment and every smile that day. We were so impressed when we received the photos, they were all so thoughtful and such good quality! I would really recommend James for weddings. couldn’t be more grateful that we did. The video he put together was so beautiful and we are constantly hearing compliments and praise! Not only is he great at his craft, but he is also just a super cool person. I thought that being video taped on our wedding day was going to be awkward and uncomfortable, I was so wrong! I didn’t even notice him most of the time, yet with proof of the video, he was everywhere! Our wedding day didn’t go quite as planned (rain), but they totally dealt with a silly bride and groom perfectly! I have heard a lot of bride and grooms who decide to cut the videographer out of their budget. DO NOT DO THIS! Honestly, our video is probably my most cherished item from our wedding day, I love it so so much. I can’t recommend SLOtography enough, don’t be silly quit looking and book them!
