She’s a racist. She said that if you want to support a black business you should buy heroin. She’s a terrible wedding planner. Not punctual, not a nice human being, and on your big, special day is this who you want in charge of the details? I think not.
Reading DissapointedP's review feels like almost the exact same thing that happened to me as a bride. She was late to every meeting we had, did a terrible job of explaining the costs upfront and consistently asked for money earlier than we agreed upon, she was more than 4 hours late to decorate the reception venue, and didn't get the flowers to the church until 10 minutes after our service was supposed to have started. I ended up crying a few times on our wedding day because I was so frustrated with her performance. She also didn't communicate with me at all on the day of at all and didn't apologize until 2 weeks after the wedding. She agreed to refund us $500 and 3 months later, she has failed to do so. She also did save the dates and invitations for a friend of mine and the quality was poor and they were done over a month late. I cannot stress enough that you should not hire her.
Beyond disappointing- like breach of contract horrible. Do not hire if you want to have your wedding day go as planned.
If I could give Courtney of Small Events 0 stars, I would. Late to every meeting, we assumed she would at least do what she was contracted to do on the actual wedding day.
Instead, we had to hold the the ceremony 20 minutes while we waited on the bouquets and boutineers to be delivered.
She was over FOUR hours late to decorate the reception venue, after having made special arrangements to arrive earlier than what the agreement with the venue had originally allowed.
There was NO floral for cocktail hour.
Not one design element was executed as she had planned with the bride. In fact, the majority of the elements weren’t even attempted because guests were arriving as her poor team was still scrambling to make things look slightly decent.
Instead of any apologies or productive solutions, she had a plethora of excuses and a complete disregard for the stress she put the bride through. No bride should be crying as they are waiting at the aisle for flowers. She lied all morning saying she was 5 minutes away from xyz and would be there in 20, until we realized she hadn’t even started building the bouquets. As the planner, I couldn’t believe I believed her lies for so long. Had to bring in another designer to do what we could an hour and half before guests would arrive.
We cannot stress enough what a disappointment she was. She did not do anything as she said she would. Complete breach of contract. Spazzed out and careless energy. Do not hire.
We do not even know where to start because words cannot express my gratitude towards Courtney and her staff. My husband and I were scheduled to get married in Turks and Caicos on October 28, 2017. It was a wedding we planned since May 2016. However, all that changed with a simple email on September 20, 2017 when we were notified by the resort that they would be closed until December 2017. Our dream wedding was cancelled. After the shock wore off, we picked ourselves up and were determined to replan our wedding in a short period. The first few days were overwhelming. The task seemed impossible, but we just failed to realize that we just couldn’t do it ourselves. It wasn’t long before we were introduced to Courtney and the staff at Small Market Events by our caterer. Courtney sent us the most beautiful, reassuring email I had ever received. Her email gave us hope that we can do this. She took the stress off our shoulders and made us confident that we could still get married in such a short period. Courtney was great at answering all our questions and being available at all hours. She listened to our ideas and truly transformed them. Courtney is well connected, helping us find the missing pieces to our puzzle. The day of the wedding, Courtney and staff were the day-of coordinators as well, taking care of EVERYTHING. Most brides are running around like a chicken their head cut off, but not this bride. Courtney did not falter, and left no room for error. The wedding flowed perfectly. She directed everyone, decorated the room exactly the way we envisioned and more. We wanted a rustic and Halloween theme, and boy did she meet it. We are still hearing how beautiful the wedding was, and it was in huge part to Courtney and her staff. We cannot say enough about the work she did in such a short period. What felt like an impossible dream came true. Thank you to Courtney and Small Market Events for everything you did.
