owledgeable, incredibly helpful, and genuinely becomes a friend first. She is someone who reminds you to breathe, be present, and actually enjoy the moments as they come. As a planner myself, I’m used to being the one managing every detail, but with her there, I didn’t have to touch a thing. I knew every vendor was taken care of, every detail handled, and everything would get done exactly as it should.
She doesn’t sweat the small stuff, keeps an amazing attitude, and brings a calm confidence that instantly puts you at ease. She makes the entire day feel light and effortless—like you’re floating on a cloud with your best friend watching your back.
She is a forever friend, and I will recommend her over and over again to anyone who wants a wedding day that feels joyful, seamless, and completely supported.

rbor Resort (Amazing), but with a wedding on an island and guests coming from 7 states and 3 continents, the logistics seemed overwhelming. Not to mention finding vendors that were familiar with the location. There were so many opportunities for something to go wrong. But it was perfect ! Grace was two steps ahead of us all along the way. Anticipating needs and any possible hiccups. Her experience, professionalism, relatability, patience, understanding and care, ensured that all the events were perfect. Grace's relationship with the resort was so helpful in so many ways. Coordinating the vendors, the housing, the professional DJ, the outstanding photographer, the guests dietary restrictions, the special needs from the 3 generations of guests, the "interesting family members", (you know, you know what I mean), Grace made sure that everything went smooth, allowing the family to get to enjoy the special day. We cannot say enough about Grace and what she did for our family. Weddings are expensive, so why not have THE BEST helping you make sure to get the most out of your investment. Hands down Grace is the best. Grace went from our wedding planner, to a trusted friend to a member of the family. She is passionate about making sure everything is perfect. She Cares. ter me, but paying Grace is the best expenditure you'll make in your entire wedding and if it's more than I paid for her, you'll still feel like you got your money's worth.
Roche Harbor gave us a vendor list of people they've worked with. We mildly looked at some of the other planners. They said things like "if you're not paying 100k for your wedding, don't email us". From our very first Zoom call with Grace, we knew this was the woman for us to help us navigate through all the trials and tribulations of planning a wedding. She immediately put us at ease with her personality and reminded me (the groom and planner) that this is supposed to be fun.
Then she meets my guys, the groomsmen in the wedding. They're not an easy bunch to corral. She took care of them with effortless ease. It would have taken me an hour to do what she did in 15 seconds. Grace just instantly took care of a rowdy bunch of guys and left them all feeling like "what just happened?!".
Then there's the small things too. As the groom, I had a moment where holding my little baby nephew broke my boutonniere. Grace was there right away and had my broken bulb re-attached to the rest of the flowers in 30 seconds flat.
Or what about what MY WIFE wants to point out? We're taking pictures for hours on end. Grace comes up and asks if we want water. She brings a normal bottle of water for me, but she has a straw ready to go for MY WIFE's water, so it doesn't mess up her lipstick.
Those are just a small snapshot of what to expect when you hire Grace. She will literally be ahead of you at all times and will know what you need almost before you know you need it.
From the small (albeit stinky) things like someone clogging the toilet at the reception to the massive things like coordinating your vendors, whether that's florals, linens, lights, DJ, or the venue itself, Grace is a rockstar. You'll hear about some of the big stuff that directly pertains to you, but for the most part, Grace is gonna be operating behind the scenes and keeping your day stress free.
I just simply cannot express enough how important Grace was on my big day/ weekend. She took everything in stride at every point. Call her Shohei Ohtani, because she's the MVP that can do it all. When the dust settles on your big weekend, you want to call her your friend. That's how cool she is.
If you're on the fence about "do I need a wedding planner?!", then lemme tell you. Unless you're doing a small-scale wedding for less than $10k all in, you should have a planner. And you should be contacting Grace at Smiling Roses to handle it for you. MY WIFE and I had the most perfect weekend of our lives on 10/31 and 11/01. That would not have been possible without Grace.
I still have 500 characters left, so I'm just gonna say Grace is amazing. We got to call her more times than you'd ever expect. We could text her too. Emails? I sent about 50 of those to her. She just continually exceeded our expectations. She's so cool that she's probably gonna text me and thank me for this review.

For our rehearsal dinner, hosted at a private home for 115 guests, Grace handled every detail. She spent an estimated 10+ hours on-site in the days leading up planning layouts, coordinating rentals, troubleshooting logistics, and delivered a seamless event. On top of that, she navigated the complexity of working with vendors who primarily spoke Chinese, without missing a beat.
On our wedding day, Seattle threw us a rainy curveball, but Grace turned it into the best possible version of the day. She somehow knew our vision just as well as we did, despite running multiple wedding at a time - I don't know how she keeps it all straight and with such calm, but she does! She is very knowledgeable about planning weddings and was available to make recommendations to us on a range of issues (we had never planned a wedding before!). Grace also communicated well with our vendors and our venue, and helped us arrange and pick up / drop off some last minute rentals. We also loved that Grace has a collection of wedding supplies (votives, vases, etc) that we could borrow from! During the whole planning process, having Grace on our team made us feel more relaxed, and confident that everything was thought of. On our wedding day, Grace proactively took tasks off of our plate, and reminded us that our job that day was to relax and have a good time. The event ran so smoothly, and we felt like a lot of that is owed to Grace. To couples planning their wedding – hiring a day-of coordinator or planner is a must. She suggested vendors that met our price points and reviewed and provided feedback on all our vendor contracts which put our minds at ease and made sure that we were covering all our bases. Her communication was outstanding and her sense of humor was perfect for when things got stressful. During the wedding weekend, Grace easily handled all questions/concerns from immediate family members (so we didn't have to) and our wedding day was completely stress free for us. She also has a great inventory of decor items which she lent to us for the wedding. I highly recommend Grace and her team.

She even came to the venue with us earlier this year to help us figure out how to configure the space and answered all of my frantic texts with such patience and grace (pun intended?) when I felt anxious with certain vendors and set up details. Day of, she delivered exactly what we requested - which was to show up and leave our wedding without worry while bringing to life the design I had in mind to perfection. After many horror stories from friends having to do more than they bargained for during their wedding (tear down, set up, etc.), Grace allowed us to have a perfect day by taking care of all of the behind the scenes set up and tear down. She came to us only when absolutely necessary and had everything perfectly in place with her team and our vendors otherwise. Another great perk of working with Grace is her inventory of items! My venue was a blank slate and Grace's inventory being part of the cost of working with her allowed us to save on a bundle of miscellaneous items that would cost us more/be more of a pain to get rid of otherwise. We cannot say more good things about Grace, and frankly a review alone just doesn't justify our appreciation of her and our team for making our wedding the best it could possibly be. DO NOT HESITATE to hire Grace for any of your event needs - she is the BEST, and we feel so lucky to have gotten it right with her as our coordinator. <3

h Grace. Her creativity, organization, patience, and knowledge, is truly unmatched. I'm not exaggerating: Grace knows everything there is to know about the wedding industry and planning a wedding. She answered every single one of our questions and had sound advice on everything. Even though we hired her as a day-of-coordinator, she went way beyond that and was honestly part-planner / part-coordinator. She held monthly calls way before our actual wedding date, came to our food tasting and coordinated our choices with the caterer, traveled to a rental warehouse with us to pick out tablesettings, handled some insane family drama (including giving my sweet but very stressed mother her personal phone number), and bought, printed, and wrapped our party favors (at a bulk discount!) – all before the actual big day. During our rehearsal and wedding, Grace was organized and kept everyone on track, while still being funny and kind. She really did everything, from coordinating vendor arrival and setup, to making sure everyone was in the right place at the right time, to ensuring we actually ate food and enjoyed ourselves. All I had to worry about was showing up and having a good time. Plus, my other vendors commented on how thorough her timeline and communication was and how it included some buffer so we weren't rushing from event to event. Grace even brought her own decorations and a bubble machine for our big exit. After the reception, we went to an after party and Grace and her team packed up all of our stuff really well and dropped it off at our apartment – on top of returning other vendor rentals. Hiring Grace and her team was the BEST investment we made for our wedding and I cannot recommend her highly enough!!

She was able to accommodate everything we wanted in our schedule, and when it was the day of the wedding I didn’t have to worry about a thing because I knew everything was in the best possible hands. She rolled with any pop-up so smoothly it’s obvious she has a contingency plan for anything. I was juggling last minute guest count adjustments and she passed the information along to catering, adjusted seating, and got back to me in under FIVE minutes. Her organization is off the charts, and she uses Google Drive to make it even easier. Schedules, VIPs, vendor details, it’s all safe in one space. I could add info about the wedding, vendors, and other details knowing she would see it.
If there is ONE must-have vendor out there for every wedding, it’s Grace and her team.

On the day of the wedding, in addition to coordinating everything, she also made herself available to answer questions from us/our friends/family/guests and that helped us A TON. One of the biggest things for me was that she handled the set up and break down of the event. She also tracked down a 12 -person round table in the week leading up to the wedding, so last minute, and got it to the venue because my mom had to have a certain table arrangement and the venue didn't have that specific table. Grace got us over the finish line. Grace is incredibly responsive and filled with ideas. As someone who finds it hard to let go and tends to project manage everything, I felt so reassured working with Grace that she would take care of it. She took on communications with our vendors (at some points, needing to be more persuasive than others!) and our venue - plus her and Erin’s help day of just running the show and making sure all of our food, drinks, decor, people got to where they needed to be at the right time, made it so easy to just show up and enjoy the day.

not enough to describe how amazing Grace is!! We had two weddings to plan, one in Korea (Nov 2021) and one in Seattle (Dec 2021). You can probably already sense how crazy and overwhelmed we were with all the wedding planning, especially in the covid-era. We first found Grace through a recommendation from our DJ. From the very first time we spoke with her, we knew we've found THE ONE. She is super down-to-earth, fun, organized, professional, and caring! Although we hired her as a day-of-coordinator, she reached out to us two months before the wedding, checking in and making sure we had everything in order for the big day. She was always available via email to answer our questions. Even when one of our vendors had to cancel on us last minute and we were doomed to do a lot of decorations ourselves, Grace helped to make sure I was stress-free on the day of (and the days leading up to it) and put together the most beautiful wedding I could ever dream of! Smiling Rose Event Planning has their own awesome docors, like hurricanes, votives, frames, easels, which couples can rent for free (what?!?!), which honestly saved our lives and our bank account! She was super easygoing, always with a smile on her face. Everyone at our wedding was impressed by Grace and Stacey (Grace's assistant). Even when I forgot to order sparklers for the sparkler going-away photos (which I was super sad about on the day of), Grace was able to talk with the venue staff to locate enough sparklers for us to use! ituation where having a planner can mean the difference between a perfect day and a disaster. Grace made that difference for us. Every detail she oversaw was flawless. From gorgeously pulling off a last minute site change (from a muddy garden to a dramatic fireplace-lit courtyard) to making sure as much of our cake as possible got saved (my biggest priority) Grace made it all happen. She thinks of EVERYTHING and makes herself available for all those details you simply cannot deal with both before and on your wedding day - from transporting all the decor to remembering to print out your vows to having electrolytes on hand. She even helped me ship off my bouquet for preservation the day after. I have no idea how she does it all - while staying so organized, calm and friendly. I think she must have superpowers. Just hire her. I cannot stress this enough. You'd be out of your mind to try and get married without her.

We worked with Grace via email coordinating many wedding details that I sure wouldn't have been able to wrap my head around at that stage. She has this amazing ability to quickly address a million big and little wedding details in a fun, positive way! She is extremely productive, responsive and I would absolutely recommend her for any event! The actual day of and the rehearsal we worked with Stacey at Smiling Rose and my goodness. I can't say enough how much I appreciated Stacey! She coordinated all the vendors, did all the decorations, picked up the flowers pre-wedding, corraled the groomsmen (quite the task!), communicated with the wedding party impeccably, did the little things (like checking in with those giving toasts 'how they are doing' my Dad was really appreciative of that), helped with making sure all of our items were ready to be packed up before heading out, and she just had a tremendous wonderful attitude. Our day of just wouldn't have been the same without Smiling Rose and as I mentioned, I would absolutely recommend them and hopefully will work with them again soon for another type of event!

Leading up to the wedding, Grace was easy to get ahold of and answered any question I had. She had great suggestions and always offered to help whenever she could. She really respected our budget and helped us get the most for our money, never guilting us into spending more.
The day of the wedding she was as fun to have around as my bridesmaids (although also had an ability to be in the background when necessary!). She handled everything, including effortlessly navigating tricky family dynamics. She and her team did a beautiful job with my florals and making sure my décor was exactly how I wanted -- they really listened!

When I saw that the wrong color napkins had been placed on our reception tables, she was able to work her magic and by the time of the ceremony, we had the right napkins. She's the perfect balance of friendly/fun but also gets shit done. My husband and I are both very type A; detail oriented, organized, typical “planners”. We were on the fence about hiring a coordinator as we thought we could handle it ourselves, but we finally decided to pull the trigger based on advice from other married couples. We found Smiling Rose via our venue, Roche Harbor Resort, as a preferred vendor. We decided to go with her "day of coordination" option. Grace's services went FAR beyond "day of" - she jumped in immediately, got on a first-name basis with all of our vendors (talking with each of them multiple times leading up to the wedding), and handled every tiny detail that we could possibly think of (with an incredible attitude) for the entire wedding weekend. We, along with our guests, were absolutely in awe of Grace, her work ethic, and her ability to make it all happen.
We quickly learned that our event was in very good hands, and it felt like a breath of fresh air. We stopped stressing/worrying about the details and were able to put our trust in Grace right off the bat.
We leaned on Grace for a lot of things – set up/tear down, running errands, keeping guests comfortable in the record heat, managing our vendors and their travel to San Juan Island, the list goes on. She even set up our entire Sunday brunch at a private residence the morning after the wedding (floral arrangements, décor, picking up food/ice, creating beautiful food platters – she literally did the entire thing).
We asked Grace for advice along the way (how do you think we should set this space up?, what’s the right timeline for this…?, how much should we be tipping?) and she was incredibly helpful, selfless, honest, and sincere.
We were able to truly enjoy our entire wedding weekend without a moment of stress, and we have Grace to thank for that. She is one of the hardest workers we've ever encountered. She is an outstanding project manager and can be a tough cookie - which is exactly what we didn't know we needed. She was prepared for anything and everything (even carries an emergency kit - she had fans for my bridesmaids and I, heel stoppers for the girls with stilettos who were nervous about sinking into the grass, snacks for the other vendors... the list goes on).
Again, 10/5 stars – highly recommend Grace to anyone and everyone!!!

ized, detailed, and level-headed, which really helped me leading up to the wedding, especially with all our last-minute changes due to Covid. Although I booked her as a day-of coordinator, her package really includes so much more, and we were in contact pretty much throughout the whole planning process. It was so reassuring to know I had someone who could handle all the small details that I was trying to corral in my head.
On the day of the wedding, I was able to let go and know that everything was taken care of! There were a few moments when I remembered something that needed doing, but Grace had already done it! She took care of set-up, being the point of contact for the other vendors, organizing/cueing our wedding party (with no rehearsal), playing the music, transitioning for our cake cutting and champagne toast, clean-up, and probably many more things I didn't notice behind the scenes. We were able to completely relax and enjoy our wedding, thanks to Grace!

Her pricing is incredibly reasonable for the peace of mind we got, and she went way above and beyond our expectations. She handled our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception. She is a great communicator — always responded to emails and texts in a timely manner. She connected with all our vendors and took them off my hands to coordinate their duties. She met with us a few times to go over the to-do lists, patiently answered all our questions and made great recommendations when we didn't know what to do. She was a huge help with the ceremony and reception venues — for the walkthroughs, she took charge and also made the day filled with humor, which is important during such a momentous time.

Grace was the 3rd or 4th wedding planner that we met with but once we met with her we knew she was the wedding planner for us. She has a lot of experience with wedding planning and was able to educate me on every category of putting a wedding together. She is easy to communicate with and both my wife and I got along very well with Grace. She has no problem letting you know if you are getting stressfully behind schedule or reassuring you if you are not actually behind schedule but you just feel like it. She also helped make us feel much more comfortable making it OUR day and not giving in to the requests of family members unless we actually wanted those requests. Grace also has no problem running point on talking with those family members to help create a buffer for you and to help keep the wedding YOUR special day.
Grace did an amazing job creating a schedule for us, assigning us monthly homework leading up to the wedding and keeping us on track. She always went above and beyond our highest expectations and helped reduce a lot of the stress we were feeling. Whenever we met or talked she would ask what she could help with and I would just explain which task/decision was stressing me out, expecting at most some advice and she simply told me don't worry about that I can handle it. She compiled the best options for us knowing our preferences and presented them to me for easy decision making. She not only thoroughly impressed my wife and I but also all of our family members involved in the planning process and even our vendors. Every one of them was amazed at how great she was at her job and commented on how relaxed the experience was and how easy it was to know what is going on.
While I had already handled most of the vendors myself by the time we hired Grace she took over all of the correspondence with them so that I wouldn't have to handle all those communications and updating of people.
On the actual day of the wedding she was able to keep us out of all of the planning, stress or problems so we could just enjoy our day. Before we even realized that we had any needs she was able to show up with whatever we would have needed. When we would get too involved in the party and start to destroy our own timeline she would let us know, confirm if we wanted to destroy our schedule or not and then either get us moving on or adjust the timeline accordingly.
I came in with moderate expectations for what a wedding planner would be able to do for us and Grace exceeded even my un-realistic, dream world expectations for a wedding. She quickly got a feel for what we wanted for our day of and helped guide us into making that day happen with as little stress as possible. I look back on our wedding day and still get tears in my eyes from all of the joy there was that day. It was perfect and that is certainly because of Grace.
Not only was Grace the best ever, her rate was also lower than every single quote we received from other options. I highly recommend Grace to everyone I know planning a wedding or who know people planning weddings.

Our officiant was my husband’s father who had never officiated a ceremony before. Needless to say we were all rookies. We all were so blown away by her professionalism, her kindness, her grace (really - the most appropriate name), and her ability to handle anything that came her way during the day. We had a couple of curve balls happen (as they always will!) and Grace was always in the right place and at the right time to make sure they were taken care of and that no one had to worry about them.
Also, she truly cared about how I was feeling on my wedding day. While she handled everything to make sure the day was going well, she was continuously checking in with me, my husband and our families to make sure we were all enjoying ourselves and didn't need anything to make it better. There is something special about someone doesn’t just care that the details fall into place, but also gives all her attention to your enjoyment of the event.
