We loved Smokey Glen and how different it would be from every other wedding we'd ever been to. We worked with Mark throughout the entire experience at Smokey Glen and I can't even express how grateful I am for all of his help. He was very responsive and helpful throughout the whole year leading up to the wedding. He is such a nice person! At first I was hesitant about having BBQ food for my wedding but then after tasting the food I was sold. It was amazing and our guests are still talking about how amazing the food was. Actually people are still talking about the wedding in general because it was so different from the norm and so laid back that everyone had an amazing time. This was the only "barn type" place we could find in the area that could accommodate our large 250 person guest list and it was very affordable. There were add-ons but they were upgrades that I wanted to help make it a little bit fancier but I'm talking about chairs and chinet. This place worked out great for us and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a rustic barn type wedding. Great views for pictures and a blank slate for those DIY and budget savvy brides :)

I cannot believe that this venue is listed with two $$ instead of $. My husband and I got married here in October of 2014, in the building that was formerly a chicken barn. We had an outdoor ceremony under a beautiful old tree. We worked primarily with Ken Grundy, who was SO WONDERFUL!! He was communicative, and kind and worked really hard to make our day perfect. My mom and I did all of our decorations and flowers ourselves, and he and his people were so helpful. The only thing that beats Ken's service, is the food. OH MY GOD. Whoever says that a wedding cannot be formal with BBQ is a fool. ALL of our guests are STILL raving about the food (we did the brisket and chicken). It was so good, and my husband and I were ecstatic when we were able to take leftovers home with us. We also used the mini golf course and outdoor bar for our happy hour, and although my hubby and I didn't attend we had lots of guests rave about how fun and relaxing it was. For any bride looking for an affordable escapist wedding, with plenty of surrounding places for guests to stay THIS IS YOUR PLACE. DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER. If you are a bride on a budget in Montgomery County it doesn't get any better than Smokey Glen. Ken was our site coordinator and he was extremely responsive and accommodating. He knew we were on a budget and worked with us to get everything we wanted for a good price. At the last minute we realized we hadn't ordered chairs for our ceremony and he was right on top of it, no added stress or anxiety for us. We used the barn and it just fit our 120 guests and dj table. Instead of buying a wedding cake we had pie (which comes with the dinner package) and ice cream. We also provided guests with a mason jar as their glass for the night (to make it nicer than plastic) and it doubled as their gift. The prices for food and alcohol cannot be beat and a shocking amount of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they've had and they STILL talk about it (and no, our friends aren't clueless about good food, like we thought when we read other reviews that said the same thing). Get the brisket and mac n' cheese!! We were so thrilled with our experience at Smokey Glen!!

Both myself and my husband have worked at Smokey Glen Farm every summer since we were 15. We fell in love here and decided to ultimately have our reception here. It has 100's of acres of beautiful backdrop, delicious food and helpful service. I was care-free. For the venue/food/open bar, we spent less than $9,000 for 150 guests.
