We have a very mixed review for SNPJ. We hosted our wedding ceremony and reception at this location, and there are a few great pros, and some very negative cons to this venue.
First, the pros. The price we got this venue for was unbeatable, especially with how hot rustic décor is. The grounds themselves are beautiful and provide a great canvas to decorate for an event. The stage outside was perfect for our ceremony, and it was nice and quiet. The bartenders were great and kept things moving smoothly, also communicating with us well. At the end of the night, we had a CRAPLOAD of cake left, and we politely asked if we could pick it up in the morning as we did not have a big enough fridge in our hotel room. The caretakers obliged, we even told them they could have a slice or two as a thank you.
Now, to the cons. I don’t know where to start with these. First, when we originally booked this venue, it was under different management than it is now. Roughly a year after signing our contract, the ownership changed or something, changing the way in which this business is run. I get it, and I think the direction they are trying to move the business to is a good one for them…however, it made the logistics of getting our wedding set up a NIGHTMARE!!!!! Communication amongst the staff is awful. Our planner had been in contact with the property manager and was told we could have access to the grounds the two days prior to the wedding for set up as long as no other events were going on. There weren’t. The Sunday prior to our wedding, she received a call, knocking this amount of prep time down to only two hours the day before. After some negotiating with the property manager, our planner was able to get four additional hours. When we arrived to do the prep work to help her out, it was VERY obvious that our presence was never communicated to the staff doing other yard work around the property. They were very unfriendly and were flat out rude to not only the planner, but us as well. They acted as if us being there was an inconvenience to them and that the miscommunication within their organization was our fault. Our planner had gotten permission to leave string lights from a previous wedding up for ours, and when we arrived, they had been taken down. They did correct this by hanging them back up, and not forcing us to spend time doing so, which was great.
I truly hope that the new ownership will take this business to the next level, but the fact that our original contract was not honored and we were given so little time to adjust to their way of doing things is unacceptable in my opinion. Our wedding turned out beautifully, but not because of the owners of SNPJ. I really believe if they smoothed out the edges of the way they work with clients, this could be a go-to venue in northeast Ohio.
Perfect for the rustic indoor/outdoor venue. Everything was provided (facility, tables, chairs etc).
Very beautiful setting, large dance floor, enormous kitchen and bar
