and sometimes zinc. I was ready to purchase the ring ASAP and only needed Sofia’s response to confirm my partner wouldn’t have a skin reaction before purchasing. Never got a reply. For a $33k ready-to-ship piece, not responding is unprofessional and blows my mind. What a reason to lose a $33k sale.
I’d heard a few people say Sofia is tough to get ahold of and not the most reliable, but I figured they were exaggerating. Turns out they weren’t. You shouldn’t have to chase someone just to give them your business. Especially when you're making a big purchase like this.
I asked my friends if it was like this when they were engagement ring shopping and they were all shocked to hear about my experience. They all received quick responses, solid communication, and zero hassle when they bought their wives rings.

I had researched different styles of rings and knew that I was looking for one with a soft/matte gold where the band looked like a tree branch and there were leaves surrounding a blue gemstone at the center. Definitely not your traditional engagement ring. However neither my partner nor I knew much about this kind of thing, so we decided to have one day where we went to stores in person so that we could talk with people one on one and get more of a sense of what we were doing. And who knew, it was possible we'd find the perfect ring at one of the stores. Unlikely, but possible. The first store we went to was a complete wash. Everything was very shiny and filled with nothing but diamonds and very much not my style. When we talked with the person at the store, it became very clear that they didn't have anything even remotely close to what I was looking for. We left the store a bit disappointed, but since we were already in Santa Monica, we decided to google if there were any other jewelry stores nearby that might have what I was looking for. In my search, I stumbled across Sofia Kaman, and on their website I was amazed to find they had exactly the kind of ring I was looking for. And when we drove to the store, they were everything I could have asked for. We spoke with a sales rep and she was absolutely delightful, showing us options and helping me find my ring size. She told us about how they offer custom ring designs as well and that Sofia herself was currently in the store and that we were able to speak with her and we jumped on that opportunity. Sofia was lovely and was clearly excited about creating the design I had in mind. She was wonderful to work with every step of the way, and I am ridiculously happy with the end product. I can't recommend this shop enough, especially if you're interested in a less traditional design for an engagement ring.

the likes. We expected to be treated similarly to those shops, either being ignored or talked down to because of our flip flops and t-shirts. We couldn't have been more wrong! Sofia was warm and friendly, she offered to help and congratulated us for finding each other. She even asked how we met and listened attentively as we told the story.
After looking around the shop and realizing that everything in the cases is from designers Sofia knows and that most of the pieces are made in Los Angeles, we were amazed at the beauty and uniqueness of each piece. No one else will ever have an exact replica of the things we saw in that shop. Despite the beauty of all the designers work, I hadn't seen a ring that I could see wearing the rest of my life. Then there is was; in the case behind the register wall. There in that case was my ring. Sofia had taken a vintage ring and redesigned it in a slightly more modern way, still vintage looking and very unique but not vintage in price.
My husband came back and bought that ring without me and proposed. I needed to have it sized and Sofia remembered not only me, but our story and I got to tell her the story of how he proposed. I was never going to find a band that would go with this ring, so I asked Sofia to design something for me that would match. The ring she designed for me is the most beautiful wedding band I have ever seen. 16 pave diamonds in a band with tiny gold leaves that match the design on my engagement ring. Mass shops do not have the ability to design and personalize a piece of jewelry just for me. We loved the shop so much that when we were looking for my husband's band it was the first place we went. He found a simple titanium band not too flashy and again, something that no one else will ever have.
Sofia is an absolute dream to work with, her staff are friendly and helpful as well as knowledgable about every piece that is in the store. The store itself is sweet and very inviting, with adorable cards and also delicious fragrances that make the store feel zen. I can't say enough good things about our experience with Sofia and Kamofie. Not only do I feel like I have a beautiful ring that I will wear for the rest of my life, I also feel like we made a friend in Sofia and that she is forever a part of our wedding story.

Her beautiful and unique rings gave me a great starting place for designing mine. She was so patient and spent tons of time with me and my fiance figuring out exactly what we wanted. I wanted a very specific stone - pear cut champagne diamond - and she ordered about 10 different diamonds of varying shapes, sizes and hues for me to choose from.
When my fiance proposed at a waterfall in Ojai I was absolutely floored. I knew the ring would be special but my heart just swelled when I saw the finished product. It was even more gorgeous than I imagined and I get compliments almost every single day.
