About this vendor
Welcome to Soli Deo Gloria!
Soli Deo Gloria Weddings and Events is located on 25 + acres near the small town of Greenwood, Texas. We are a scenic 1-hour drive North of the Dallas-Ft Worth Metroplex.
Soli Deo Gloria is a Latin phrase that means "Glory to God Alone". This name was carefully chosen to represent this lovely venue. Soli Deo Gloria desires to glorify God in all they do. The beautiful Chapel, Party Hall and Guest Cabin are nestled amongst towering oak, cedar elm, bois de' arc, and cedar trees. We are known for the beauty and peace that envelope the property.
The venue was a labor of love, born in 2017. The Chapel is built with wood from a historic old church built in 1908 which was originally located 2 miles east of Soli Deo Gloria. The building was meticulously dismantled and brought to the property. The Chapel was designed and built by the proprietors' family. Surrounded by trees, the Chapel reflects its rustic past and an industrial future. It's lofted ceiling reaches to the sky. The windows beckon the outdoors to come inside. The chapel holds 150 guests and the sliding glass can completely recess to open the chapel up to an additional 50 guests. We also have a beautiful outdoor site for weddings under the Wedding Tree.
In 2019 the Party Hall was designed and built to reflect the look and charm of the Chapel; lots of windows, sliding glass doors old wood and exposed beams. The Party Hall features reclaimed wood from an 1885 barn and an 1885 shack that was home to the proprietors' Great Grandparents, Grandparents and Father. Indoor and outdoor lighting makes for a festive party atmosphere.
The Guest Cabin was built in 2007 from wood harvested from one of the proprietors' Great Grandparents Old Home Place. The cabin has served many purposes over the years, it now houses the Bride and Bridesmaids the day of the wedding. It is often rented the night of the rehearsal for the Bride and Bridesmaids to spend the night. It is also offered as the Bridal Suite for the newly married couple. Many couples return to the Soli Deo Gloria Cabin to celebrate their anniversaries.
This venue is also the perfect setting for Weddings, Rehearsal Dinners, Vow Renewals, Anniversary Parties, Fund Raisers, Daddy-Daughter Dances, Family Reunions, Corporate Parties, Christmas Parties and more.

I could not have pictured a more perfect venue and team of professionals for my wedding!
This was the only venue we toured in person and we immediately knew it was exactly what w...
e wanted. The venue is beautiful, and they are always adding something new. Beyond that, you are paying for so much more than just the venue. The fact that the venue has a decor closet saved us so much extra money, and we could NOT have done this day without the coordinator, Angela!
Angela was incredible, walking with us through every step of the planning process. Not only did she have so many helpful tools for planning the wedding, but she also genuinely cared for us and our relationship, and checked in on us throughout the entire process. Because of her, the wedding day went perfectly, and I didn’t have to stress about a single thing. Having her is a MUST!
We are so glad we chose Soli Deo Gloria for the best day of our lives, and we can’t recommend it enough!
Andrea and Angela are among the kindest and most wonderful souls you could ever meet. They worked with us from the very beginning to make our day absolutely perfect, and the entire...
Soli Deo Gloria family went above and beyond to care for both our guests and us. The day flowed so smoothly, filled with joyful moments I will cherish forever. They took care of all the little details we never even thought of. My husband and I kept joking, saying, "This day is going so well; we must be missing something!" But it was all perfect, thanks to Angela and Andrea. This venue and these amazing ladies will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you for providing such a beautiful setting that reminds us our union is part of God’s design.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Truly the Most Meaningful Wedding Experience
Choosing Soli Deo Gloria as our wedding venue was one of the best decisions we made. From the very beginning, Andrea made...
the entire planning process incredibly easy and completely stress-free. Her communication was clear, her guidance was steady, and her heart for her couples shines in everything she does.
Our wedding day was handled with such grace and intentionality. Andrea and her assistant coordinated every detail with calm confidence, making the whole day feel peaceful, smooth, and joy-filled. We never once had to worry about what was happening behind the scenes.
What meant the most to us was how beautifully Andrea embraced our story. We were blending families, navigating tender emotions, and wanting to honor the memory of Billy’s late wife in a meaningful but gentle way—especially for McKenna. Andrea handled all of this with incredible sensitivity and compassion. She cared for our family as if it were her own, and that made our day not only perfect but deeply healing.
The venue itself is stunning, but the true treasure of Soli Deo Gloria is the heart behind it. Andrea doesn’t just host weddings—she ministers to couples, loves them well, and creates a space where sacred moments can unfold.
We cannot recommend Soli Deo Gloria highly enough. If you want a venue where beauty meets genuine care, and where your story truly matters, this is the place
I can't say enough good things about Soli Deo Gloria. From the moment my fiancé and I stepped foot onto the property, we knew this was where we wanted to have our wedding. We had t...
oured many venues, but this was the first one where we felt like family, not just another client.
The entire process was incredible. Angela and Andrea made everything feel effortless — they were always there to support us, ensure I wasn’t overwhelmed, and help bring our vision to life. Their care and attention made all the difference.
Soli Deo Gloria is truly a God-centered venue, and that’s reflected in every detail. Our wedding day was absolutely beautiful and went off without a hitch. As a bride, it’s a huge thing to say I had a completely stress-free day — I was able to truly savor each moment with my bridesmaids leading up to the ceremony.
I wholeheartedly recommend this venue to any couple looking for more than just a place to get married — Soli Deo Gloria is a place where love, faith, and family come together in the most meaningful way
I can’t recommend this venue enough! My wedding was perfect because of Angela and Andrea! They are simply amazing at taking care of your wedding planning to even checking on your w...
ellbeing! The venue is so peaceful and pretty too, and the chapel is surrounded by nature making it feel like a fairytale!
I cannot sing the praises of Soli Deo Gloria and the Duwe family enough! We recommend them to every newly engaged couple we meet.
I knew this was "the one" the moment we drove ...
up! We were looking for a chapel, rustic, but not TOO rustic, somewhere that was naturally beautiful, and interiors that were pretty enough to not need a lot of décor. It was perfect. My husband was sold when Andrea came out to greet us with her precious doggo and then offered him snacks.
The location is just far enough outside of DFW to be a "pseudo-destination" that folks can drive to for a day. Pricing was more than fair, and worth every penny. For getting married in August, we definitely judged venues on the quality of the AC, and SDG won on every point!
I don't know how else to describe our experience than it felt like we were welcomed into the Duwe's own home. Early on, Andrea sat us down to talk budget, vendors, timeline, and showed us her room FULL of décor items. I had a million questions, and she answered them all! We chose the package that included access to the reception hall the day before, and using the cabin the night before for me and my girls. I highly recommend that option! It was certainly nice to wake up to fresh air, song birds, and a hot cup of tea before getting swept up into the day.
The Duwes are more than the venue owners- they truly put their hearts into serving the couples! They handled parking, last-minute food setup, and Andrea was the sweetest day-of coordinator. Our wedding would not have been as easy and as lovely as it was without them. I highly recommend Soli Deo Gloria!
If you’re looking for a small venue for a wedding, we highly recommend Soli Deo Gloria. It was the perfect venue for our daughter’s wedding with 100-125 guests. The chapel doors/gl...
ass walls slide open which creates an even more gorgeous atmosphere with beautiful weather. I actually imagine this venue is gorgeous year round. The reception barn is near, but separate and was the perfect size for dinner and dancing. Andrea and Angela are definitely experts and communicate and guide you through the entire process. We couldn’t have done it without them as they know how to set your timeline so everything flows perfectly. This venue is a little ways outside of Decatur, TX but the scenery, the drive, and the area is beautiful in the spring. They have hundreds of lights strung in the trees, inside the reception hall, and lit all around the property which provides a great nighttime atmosphere, as well. Since we were not from the area, they also provide a nice list of vendors whom they know and work with well. Our whole day was pretty relaxed. We had a small wedding party, so their bridesmaid cabin, and groom’s lounge area, was the perfect size for everyone to get ready without feeling cramped at all. I honestly wish the girls had stayed in the cabin the night before the wedding.
If you book Soli Deo Gloria, you’re not just getting a fabulous venue, you’re getting genuine, kind, and detailed service from a great team.

ked and then due to daughter's fiancé joining the military, the date got pushed up!! You can imagine my panic. Andrea was beyond amazing!!! Her sweet calm nature and reassurance was such a blessing. The two day access to the venue made the day of so relaxing with special memories being soaked in. She did an outstanding job with our rehearsal/dinner! We all felt so ready for the actual day. The bridal party LOVED staying the night in the cabin talking, laughing and doing some last minute alterations:) The day of, Andrea and her team were on top of things. Attending to every detail and ensuring this day would be perfect and it was. The property and the chapel are so beautiful. You truly have to see it to understand it!

ur day was such a relief and gift!
The location itself is so peaceful and beautiful, tucked in the trees. I loved all of the natural lighting in both the chapel and the party hall--they both have big windows and can accommodate indoor and outdoor seating. Both spaces are both beautifully and simply designed, so you have a clean canvas to decorate--which is exactly what I was looking for!
I couldn't recommend this venue or its sweet owners more!!

I cannot stress enough how amazing my wedding was and it was in no small part due to Andrea. at Soli Deo Gloria!
The setting is peaceful and magical. You are made to feel completely at home. The venue doesn’t have the corporate feeling that some other venues have where you feel as though you are just a tenant on a roster to cycle through. It’s an intimate experience and the family running it is so very precious with a heart to serve.
If you are considering this location for your special day, at the least take a visit – I believe the rest will speak for itself!

erything happen, capturing your vision for the perfect wedding experience. The venue is gorgeous, nestled in the trees of beautiful Greenwood, Texas. The chapel is stunning with the beautiful architecture, huge windows and expansive high ceilings. The reception hall is perfect for large or small weddings. Nighttime is magical with lights hanging out of trees and leading your way to the parking lot. I would definitely recommend Soli Deo Gloria for a truly unique and beautiful wedding venue. I would definitely choose Soli Deo Gloria again!
A friend recommended SDG to us & I checked their website 1st. My heart leapt when I saw the photos, because it seemed the exact setting that my daughter was wanting for her wedding...
. My thoughts were confirmed when I showed her. We made an appt to visit & were met by Andrea (one of the owners). She had made muffins to greet us, which was a nice surprise! She gave us a tour of the venue & was so friendly & accommodating that, inspired by the beauty of the place, we fell in love! Andrea was not pushy at all & told my daughter that she'd love for her to have her wedding there, but to go home & pray about it first. She said something like, "Don't you dare have it here if God doesn't confirm it!" She prayed with us before we left that day. The day of the wedding was so beautiful & we didn't lack for anything. Andrea helped facilitate everything & it went great! I could not more highly recommend SDG for your wedding! They have indoor & outdoor options & the owners are the best! <3

I highly recommend this fabulous venue!! Privacy was important to us and this fit the bill. We desired a backup plan in case of rain and they fully provided as it did rain. They did not present any stress given the weather. They just smoothly transitioned and kept us rolling with kindness and precision.
We are so thankful for Soli Deo Gloria! You will not be disappointed in going with them for your event. Rick and Andrea are beautiful people with hearts of gold. We are forever grateful!
