We hired Solid Sound Music for our ceremony and reception. Matt was so helpful during the planning process and was very easy to get a hold of if we had questions. Rachel was our DJ on the day of and did such a good job! She made sure we were on schedule the whole night and was very responsive to requests.
Matt did an excellent job DJing for our wedding. He's very nice and professional. He gave us a detailed layout of expectations and outline for the day. His communication was great leading up to the wedding and day-of. You can tell he really cares about making his clients' happy. He respected all our wishes for the day. I recommend!
We had Matt from Solid Sound Music dj my daughter's wedding. We had 3 1/2 months to plan the wedding. Matt was willing to dj the wedding even after I told him it would be a smaller wedding, dry reception and people might not dance. He was up for the challenge and was very professional and prompt with his emails.
The day of the wedding he arrived on time, he dressed according to the dress code and was professional at all times.
I was nervous about the dancing, thinking nobody would dance. After the first song, people started dancing and at one point the dance floor was full. We even got my 91 year old Dad out on the dance floor! The party only lasted about an hour and a half. Matt was very understanding and very kind when I told him the couple was done. I would definitely recommend Matt from Solid Sound Music.

Matt was excellent. He was super flexible in when things happened and we were able to rearrange some thing. He did great at our introductions and was very patient with us as my now husband was sick and needed some adjustments. Best DJ by far
I can't say enough good things about matt!! We had to move our date a couple of times due to covid and because of that we were super nervous about how the day was going to go since we had SUCH a long wait. Matt was so flexible with us and everything went absolutely perfect. we met with a couple of companies before hiring solid sound and we are so glad we went with him, we truly felt comfortable with him and he is so honest and genuine.
The night itself was amazing. Tom and I didnt have many songs we wanted to hear, just a few special ones, so we pretty much gave him creative control over the rest and knew our guests were going to be big requesters. Seriously every single song was spot on, people danced all night and we had the BEST time. his mcing was great too, we asked for an over the top football intro and he absolutely delivered. Our wedding was perfect. thank you matt!!!
Matt did a fantastic job at our wedding! He made sure to play the songs we requested at our wedding and did a good job at taking song requests at the wedding!

Solid Sound Music is absolutely outstanding! My husband and I chose them over several other companies that we met with - one of the biggest factors was the owner Matt's personality and professional radio background. Right from the get-go, he was so warm and personable and professional. Josh and I just immediately knew he was the right DJ for our wedding. And we were right! Everything was so perfect. Our guests had a blast, the music was spot-on (we got a lot of compliments about that!), the announcements were on point, and we had the wedding of our dreams. He even did the football-themed introductions that we requested! :) We'll definitely be recommending him!
Good party music but not the best fit for multicultrual celebrations.
I had the best day of my life, but I was dissappointed by the DJ.
My husband is Hispanic, I am not - so naturally we wanted a blended wedding of Spanish and English music.
The Mother of Groom requested the song "Vida" by Marc Anthongy, but the song "Vivir mi Vida" by Marc Anthony played. She was visibly shocked and upset. Even tempted to stop the dance.
The correct song is just a simple scroll down on a google search. While I can understand that the DJ did not speak spanish this mistake seemed ...lazy? If he was unsure if he had the correct song, he could have simply asked!
We were assured that any song could be downloaded and that the Spanish music could be included in the regular music. It wasn't played until his family physically got behind the DJ and told him what to play!
Even our cake cutting song was missed and that was country!!
Matt (he was not our DJ) is a great guy, and his team did play good 'party music'. Overall it was a good performance, but the fact that I felt mislead and that part of my family was left out of the party is very dissappointing, and has been plauging my mind.

i am updating this reveiw and have corresponded with the owner. his response about reaching out to me mulitple times is 100% a LIE. horrible vendor wish i never hired.

Hi Aryssa! Thanks for your feedback, and so sorry things didn't quite go as planned! We definitely do try and cater to all cultures and backgrounds.
I guess the first thing that comes to my mind is that I am a little confused as to why I a...
m just now hearing about all of this. I asked you multiple times (including at the end of the night) how things were going, and you expressed no dissatisfaction. The last clause of my contract states that “If at any point the party becomes displeased with the music (or anything), agreed upon or not, this must be communicated to the DJ at the event. We will be more than happy to alter anything at anytime during the night!" And we absolutely mean it, we are more than willing to change things up. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do now, as the wedding was several weeks ago.
I think the most important takeaway from this, however, is how critically important it is for each client to approve of the wedding form. For those who haven't worked with me before, I have a questionnaire that I request every client to fill out. A week before, I put everything together on a wedding form sheet and submit it to the client for approval. Aryssa, it really does pain me to put any blame on you, but the fact is, we reached out to you several times (both by phone and email) to approve the music and got no response. One of my questions was, indeed, about the Marc Anthony song. It is very easy to confuse those two songs, especially for anyone who doesn’t speak Spanish or know Marc Anthony's music. (On top of that, "Vivir Mi Vida" is a very popular song from Marc Anthony, and I play it often at weddings by request.)
Additionally, much of the information that I was given for you was not up to date, including the times of the events - Dave almost didn't make it in time, as I was unable to reach you to confirm details and did not have the final schedule because of that. I do wish both of you the best, and I wish things could have been different.
Great service, and Matt was really easy to work with. He knows what he's doing and was easy going when our timetable kept changing. Definitely recommend him.

Matt was our primary contact, and he was very responsive as we planned our wedding. From providing detailed, timely answers to our initial questions to calling me the week before the wedding to get our party's name pronunciations, we appreciated how communicative he was through the entire process. When I saw the song list the week before the wedding and wanted to completely change up the dinner playlist, he made it happen, no questions asked. I'm so happy he gave me the opportunity to do that - I still get the best feeling when I hear one of those songs and am taken back to our wedding night.
Jesse, our DJ, was simply wonderful. He arrived promptly and coordinated with our friend and officiant, so I didn't have to worry about anything, I just showed up to the ceremony. When things got a little slow as dinner was ending, he quickly consulted with us and then moved up the schedule to keep things flowing. He played all of the songs we asked for at the reception, while still reading the crowd, and he kept people on the dance floor all night. He was very professional and friendly, and we would recommend him to anyone.
Matt did a fantastic job at our wedding! We planned our wedding from out-of-state, but despite not being able to meet Matt in person beforehand, he was very easy to talk with and plan with on the phone and via e-mail. I felt like I didn't have to worry about making sure wedding guests knew what was going on or everything running smoothly because Matt took care of it with his timely and enthusiastic announcements. Also, the dance floor was packed during the entire reception! Matt is very professional but also laid back and flexible--he is an excellent DJ! I would definitely choose Solid Sound Music again.
Matt and his team are wonderful! I was actually lucky enough to win a free DJ service at the GR Bridal Expo and I can not believe how lucky I was. contrary to the only negative review I see Matt has NEVER bombarded me with emails and always keeps them to the point and never pushy. I loved working with him so much I am actually booking Solid Sound for a corporate holiday party I am organizing for my work and I am sure I will be writing yet another glowing review once that party is over. Thank you Matt, for being a huge part of my wedding and continuing to be a reliable and professional vendor.
DJ Angie did an awesome job! She was super organized and helpful every step of the way! She played the best music and kept the party going all night! I couldn't have asked for a better DJ for my wedding! I would recommend Solid Sound Music!
Angie was our wedding DJ and she did an excellent job! We gave her a timeline of the night's songs and events, and she communicated so well with throughout the evening with me on what's coming next, requests people asked for, whether to add something, or skip something... it was a tailor-made wedding reception!! It was perfect!! Her announcements were clear and professional (she is not "cheesy" or "fake"), she looked wonderful, and she was interactive! Angie was a joy to have at our wedding! We were very impressed!
Matt of Solid Sound Music was great to work with, and set up the entertainment for our wedding. He was very flexible with our meeting times, and very receptive to our ideas. You could tell right away that he was there for us, to make sure our day would go perfectly. Matt sent us Angie Hohbach to DJ and she was just AWESOME! She was incredibly cooperative when it came to our particular requests, and she was able to be flexible and "wing-it" when we went off schedule. Angie's professionalism and personality really got things moving! Angie came early, and set-up and broke down everything quickly and on time. She is an absolutely lovely person, and great to work with.
I couldn't recommend Matt Plessner or Angie strongly enough for your wedding, or other function.
Matt is one of the most professional music people I've ever met. He is very friendly and made sure that he covered all the bases when it came to DJ-ing my party. He arrived an hour early, had everything set up in plenty of time, made the whole experience fun for all of the attendees, and then stayed for more than an hour afterwards to take everything down. I would hire him again in a heartbeat and highly recommend him if you need some great music. He played every song myself or anyone else there requested. His professionalism is miles above some of the other places I called. You will definitely be happy if you hire him for your party.
My new husband and I were pleased with our decision to go with Solid Sound Music. Matt was extremely personable and did a great job emceeing our reception. His music choices kept people of all ages out on the dance floor. I danced all night long!
I really enjoyed having Matt as our MC. He was very laid-back and easily went with the changes I made, some of them last minute. Even though we had kind of a time crunch, he patiently waited to start everything for the reception, and communicated what he thought best to carry on with. The music was great, and the lighting spectacular. Couldn't have asked for a better, more knowledgable DJ.
Matt was our DJ he was very professional, he came early to set up and stayed late to clean up. He played every song we requested and was a great host!
Although Matt is a musician and former radio dj he put aside his preferences and allowed us to make the decisions based on what we knew our friends and family would like. He was easy to work with and kept the dance floor full all night! Many guests asked where I had found the dj and said he was the best they had heard. Price was so reasonable too!
I loved having Matt DJ our wedding. He was very easy to communicate with and seems like a very "down to earth" guy. He did a wonderful job being the "MC" and helped things run very smoothly. He also improvised very well...we had a timeline and if something came up, he would tell us to give him a thumbs up whenever we were ready to do the next thing (like first dances, cutting the cake, etc). Overall, I'm very pleased.
