I had the privilege of having my wedding hair and makeup done by Emma. I am generally pretty minimalist when it comes to my makeup, and after I shared this with Emma at my trial appointment, she created the perfect simple but glam look that I was hoping for. She also constructed the romantic loose updo of my dreams! On the day of my wedding, she went above and beyond - she spent so much time perfecting the look, and I really enjoyed the experience. The results were incredible, and somehow even better than the trial - Emma is clearly an artist when it comes to both hair and makeup. My hair and makeup were both exactly what I imagined for my wedding (even better, really!), and I felt so confident in my skin the whole day. Both the updo and the makeup held up great for our 12 hour wedding day, too! Weeks later, I am still getting comments from family members about how much they loved my hair. I would absolutely recommend Emma and Solstice Salon.

It was such a pleasure working with Emma! She did my hair and makeup for my wedding day and my mom's hair. For the trial, I showed her a couple inspiration photos and she hit the nail on the head. I felt so beautiful! And I don't know how she did it, but my hair and makeup were even better on wedding day! I usually don't wear a lot of makeup, so I still looked like myself but felt even more beautiful! She knew how to accentuate and work with my features :) I only had one small change to my hair since the trial and Emma did it flawlessly. My hair and makeup lasted the entire night of dancing (and I did not go lightly on the dance floor). She did such an amazing job on my hair's mom also! Exactly like the inspiration photo my mom showed her. Definitely recommend booking with Solstice Salon for your special day!

I used this salon for my wedding / wedding party. I sent inspo pics prior to my wedding date being as I live far away and could not do a trial beforehand. I was assured the style could easily be accomplished. On my wedding day, the stylist told me she did not know how to achieve my look (a simple Hollywood curl). She desperately tried, even YouTubing tutorials while I sat waiting for my ceremony to start. It was embarrassing for both me and her. I ended up being late to my ceremony and my hair did not come close to my desired look. The stylist recommend I reach out to the owner for a refund and when I did, she said they do not honor refunds because people pay for a “service” not an “item”. This is not only irresponsible of the owner for not making sure the stylist could achieve the look prior to sending them in blindly, but poor business practice. Thankfully I didn’t not let my shitty hair style ruin my big day. I would 100% beware going to this salon as they are obviously more interested in $$$ rather than seeing their clients happy.

Both stylists, hair and makeup girls arrived on time and finished all the hair and makeup in time for the wedding. They had good reviews and their rates were a little more reasonable than other vendors which ultimately is why I chose them. I think maybe they specialize more in hair than in makeup, because if you look at the pictures they post, its almost all hair. My mother and I both did not like our makeup. I actually looked in a mirror after my eyeshadow was done and told the artist to not wait on me to come back and get finished as I wasn't a fan and I would just do my own. It was not blended well, not the color scheme I had shown her, and was completely uneven. My mother had her makeup fixed by the other bridesmaids. Luckily, the bride really liked her eyeshadow, so that's good! After the wedding I asked Solstice if they could give a partial refund as two of their 4 clients were not completely happy and they were very quick to say no.

Emma and Alyssa were the perfect team for me and my ladies for my wedding. They are extremely talented and were able to work with all of us to give us exactly what we wanted, all right according to the timeline or even ahead of schedule. I did my trial and then naturally changed what I wanted (despite really liking the look), and everything was perfect for my wedding. They work very well together, have competitive pricing (their trial cost is lower than most, which I really appreciated), and are just great people. I would highly recommend them to anyone! Bonus points for making my mom feel as beautiful as she is! Thank you so much, Emma and Alyssa—I really felt beautiful on my wedding day, and that was completely thanks to you!!

Emma and Shain were so much fun to work with! Both ladies are very calm, yet professional and made getting ready on wedding day stress free and relaxing. My bridesmaids and mom all got beautiful updos and makeup that they loved, and I couldn’t have been happier with my hair and makeup! It ended up snowing during the wedding, and I got soaking wet, yet my hair and makeup still looked amazing! I did do a quick blow dry, but my hair still maintained a beautiful volume and wave to it-you never would have known it got wet! Thanks so much to Emma for setting me up to look great despite the elements. I would highly recommend Emma and her team for your special event too!

I found Alyssa very randomly, when I needed someone to do hair and makeup on a Monday for my engagement photos at the very last minute. I was so thrilled with how it turned out, I knew I needed them for the day-of! Three ladies came to help us get ready, and they really did an incredible job. Everyone looked stunning, but we also still all looked like ourselves when they were finished. They pulled off a super glamorous yet super natural look SO well, and we were so glad to have them. I will definitely be visiting the salon in Truckee again when I'm in town!

Emma was amazing! I loved my hair and makeup. It looked like an effortless beauty. She was so kind and quick! Emma is very experienced and knows exactly what to do to make you glow on your wedding day :) I highly recommend!

I cannot say enough great things about Emma and Solstice. Emma and her stylists were an absolute delight to work with. Emma always responded to emails quickly and always answered any and all questions. They did such a BEAUTIFUL job on all six of my bridesmaids my mother and my mother-in-law. I can not say enough about my hair and makeup! It was absolutely stunning and everything that I asked for and more! I felt so beautiful! They made sure we all were very relaxed on the big day! I am so happy I went with wmmA and solstice salon on one of the biggest days of my life.

Emma and Shain were the absolute best! I had a hard time finding many options in the Tahoe area and was resistant to use any of the services that had 'teams of people' where they'd randomly pick someone for your wedding based on availability. I really wanted to know & trust who ever I selected. Emma's pricing was very fair and worth every penny. I had my trial at her new salon in Truckee, which is the cutest ever, and she spent plenty of time with me making sure we got it right, trying different looks, and even taking photos to capture different light. At the end of the trial she took photos from different angles to document the looks we landed on so she could replicate them exactly on the big day....and that she did! She also did a fantastic job on my moms hair & makeup and Shain was great with my other bridesmaids. They were both great to have part of my big day.

Emma and Alyssa did the hair and makeup for my wedding this past weekend and they were AMAZING!! They provided services for me, my 6 bridesmaids, and the moms at our rented condo and we didn't have to start at the crack of dawn to finish in time for our photos. They were both so fun and chill the morning of (when I was a bit of a stressed out and cranky bride) and they listened to what we wanted and took ideas and suggestions easily. Emma and I did a trial for hair and makeup in June and she made adjustments based on feedback and my makeup and hair were better than I could have imagined. Payment for everyone was easy (we used Square and Venmo) and we all got tons of compliments all throughout the event. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

I highly recommend Emma and Solstice Weddings for your hair and makeup on your wedding day. I knew I loved Emma's vision at the trial. She even did a hair/makeup trial for my mom and even my mom was impressed which is hard when it comes to someone else doing her makeup. I had originally booked hair/makeup with a salon that closed and luckily found Emma and her group through the old salon manager. The team was a lifesaver and I could not have been happier. My maid of honor has been in a lot of weddings and she said it was by far the happiest she has ever been with hair/makeup for a wedding. Very natural and exactly what we wanted! Very responsive by email and text which is helpful which is not always true with Tahoe vendors.

Solstice is amazing. I was left without a hair and makeup artist one month before my wedding, and they saved me! They have great communication, are easy to work with, and did a wonderful job. I opted to just do a hair trial, and Alyssa was wonderful with suggestions and gave me some great options. Jenae did our makeup, also super accommodating and did a wonderful job covering my awfully timed sunburn. I felt like a beautiful bride/princess thanks to Solstice! P.S. I am a wedding coordinator and can't wait to recommend Solstice to my future brides!

I can not recommend Emma Furth with Solstice Weddings MORE! I got married in Hawaii and asked her to come out to the wedding to help me with hair and makeup. She did my hair in the most beautiful fish tail braid with plumeria flowers in a side swiping braid for rehearsal dinner, and then for the wedding curled my hair with a head lei and matching natural makeup. I am not used to wearing a ton of makeup, I only asked for my skin to look great, and made me feel so effortlessly beautiful. Never thought I'd love wearing makeup so much! ;) Besides that, if you are a bride wanting someone calm, cool, and collected on your big day- Emma's your girl. She is so sweet, organized, and such a fun person to talk to the whole time you're getting dolled up, that I didn't think twice about what time it was, what I had to do, all the people to speak to, etc... the little things that sometimes feel overwhelming on a wedding day. I now only get my hair done by Emma and drive over an hour from Reno to Truckee for her skills and chats. :) Thank you for everything you do, Emma!!
