My then fiance and I left our first meeting with Ron thinking of him as a friend and someone who we could count on to make our wedding day go as smoothly as possible. We were absolutely right. Ron was fantastic in every way. It's true that the DJ is the quarterback of the wedding, and Ron is Tom Brady! He put together a schedule (which kept us on track all night), gave us friendly advice for things we were stuck on, and overall just helped take a load off our shoulders during a very stressful time. As far as day-of went, every one of our guests had a blast and the dance floor was jumping throughout the night, which when it comes down to it is a HUGE part of what makes a wedding successful. I can't think of one instance where guests weren't all over the dance floor just having a great time. It was exactly what my wife and I wanted in a reception. The team helps from the beginning stages of planning all the way through the wedding day, Something 2 Dance 2 is definitely more than just a DJ. We had our wedding at Winnetka Community House and our ceremony was supposed to be outside but rain changed that. Fortunately, that did not stop Marc from making it any less special. He was able to set everything up for our ceremony and reception and ran it beautifully! We had a wide range of ages and cultures at our wedding and Marc was able to keep everyone entertained and the dancing flowing throughout the night. Not only that, he was a wonderful master of ceremonies and made sure everything ran smoothly, which was very helpful for a self-planned wedding! We could not be more grateful and thankful for all the time and support Marc and Tamara gave us throughout the whole process. He also made sure things ran smoothly during the ceremony and reception and continued to check in with us throughout the night. When it came time for the important dances and the bouquet and garter toss, he made sure all parents and grandparents were in the room so no one missed anything. He also called me, and our moms the week of the wedding so he could see if we needed anything. During the night, he definitely helped the timeline move forward. He was the best!! Despite crazy work schedules, Ron made sure to find a way to meet with my now wife and I so we could go over every single detail about the wedding. He brought things up that I would never have even thought of to have planned for a wedding. After that meeting, Ron had an entire agenda planned out and sent over which we then constantly made changes to for the next month and Ron was always there ready to answer any questions and update everything accordingly. Day of the wedding, everything was so pre-planned that Ron wasn't just a DJ, he was basically our wedding coordinator too. My wife and I didn't have to worry about anything at all because Ron had everything scheduled and planned out ready to go. We had about 100 people attend the wedding and reception and the night was a blast. Everyone was dancing all night and the energy level was through the roof thanks to the amazing song selections and hype brought to the party. All in all, our DJ Ron helped make the night exactly what we wanted it to be and without him I have no idea how the night would have gone.

Since my husband is Venezuelan and I’m from Chicago our wedding was a fusion of two cultures we wanted to make sure each side of the family felt represented and celebrated! Ron showed such enthusiasm for making our dream a reality. Even the smallest of requests he made sure to make a reality. He started our song “casate conmigo” at the perfect place for us to dance to down the aisle. The ceremony went off without a hitch and all of our guests commented on the fun music selections during the ceremony. As we started the reception dinner Ron had the perfect energy to get the guests excited! I so grateful that Ron was so thorough with the details prior so that the night of we were able to just sit back and relax knowing he had everything under control and nothing would be missed! Our first dance was a salsa song as latin dancing is one of our passions. Ron had actually listened to our song prior to the in-person meeting and suggested we shorten it just a bit. Boy was that great advice! It ended up being the perfect length and the crowed loved it! We also incorporated mambo, bachata, merengue and many other types of music. It was no issue for Ron! He was able to keep the perfect balance of genres throughout the night. We also wanted to incorporate the Venezuelan tradition of “hora loca” (crazy hour) at 11pm and Ron was up for the challenge! He took time to let the crowd know what was coming so that everyone felt excited and ready to enjoy the experience! The music was perfect and went well with the marti gras feel of the hora loca! All I can say is thank goodness for Ron!

All of our guests loved him, especially some of our pre-teen guests that wanted to play DJ by the end of the night. ish, S2D2 were fabulous in making sure all bases were covered leading up to the big event! Meeting with Tamara the first time really made us feel like we were in the best of hands. She walked us through all of the (super helpful!) online forms and music lists and explained how they would go about pairing us with a DJ closer to the wedding. Any questions or concerns we had were answered right away and never left us worried about anything. And then there was Larry. LARRY! He spent hours with us at our first meeting clarifying all information we included in our forms, anything we left out, anything we really weren't sure about. He helped us set a timeline for the evening and helped finalize a song list that would really keep the dance floor full all night. Man, did he do just that. Our wedding fell on what was probably the worst rainy day of the year, and Larry really helped keep us (me, specifically!) keep everything rolling calm and smooth. He did a wonderful job coordinating with the venue staff, photographers, etc in making sure we stuck to our timeline and kept things moving, without us having to worry about a thing. The dance floor was going ALL NIGHT right up until the last epic "Piano Man" moment. We couldn't have asked for a better evening! If you're looking for a company who really, really cares to make your event a memorable one, go with the team at S2D2. You will NOT regret it!

Meeting Marc at the offices and getting to know him, and having him get to know us, helped put us at ease, and get us excited for the day. It seemed evident that S2D2 really does put in thought about which DJ will be the best fit for your personalities and wedding expectations. It's not just something they say, so take the surveys they ask you to fill out seriously! In the week leading up to the big day, my wife wanted to switch out our entrance song, along with do a few changes to intros, names, etc. Marc was immediately responsive to her changes to let her know they were received and noted. The day of the event Marc went out of his way to check-in with us, make sure we were feeling good, and coordinated directly with our photographers and staff so that everything was ready to go and we didn't have to worry about a thing! Marc also made sure to check-in with each of us independently to see if there were any songs that may not have been our "must play" list but that we, or guests, had asked about or wanted to hear. I think it speaks for itself that we had several engaged guests come up to us during and after the event specifically asking who our DJ was, because they did such a great job and we had people dancing the entire night! TL;DR -- Marc and S2D2 are AMAZING! I can't give them enough stars, and we had several of our engaged guests ask for their info and are now using them for their weddings!!

This was awesome. During our table rounds, Larry approached us to let us know that people were getting antsy and updated us on timeline. We really appreciated that. He even noticed bridesmaids had tied their dresses together and encouraged an impromptu limbo circle on dance floor that we loved. Several guests commented that he was best wedding DJ they had ever experienced and we agree!

In the following weeks and months, all questions, phone calls, and emails were addressed within hours (even on the weekends). He walked us through an outline of an agenda of the night, and he included great details and ideas, many of which we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves. He was exceptionally professional and helpful. In the days leading up to the wedding, we were in contact quite regularly, and Ron always responded to emails the same day answering questions, and even providing additional tips along the way. The attention to detail in his work was amazing. At the wedding, ALL of our DJ/MC wants and needs were met. Ron is truly talented in keeping the guests entertained and engaged throughout the night. It is easy to use and really helped form how we were plotting out the big day. When we met with Mark for the first time it was nice and easy to walk through the plans for the day since we had been able to submit all of the information and timeline to him. We definitely had some unique requests and ideas and he was all for them! On the big day our ceremony was supposed to be outside but due to weather, got thrown inside at the very last second and Mark had basically no warning. There were a few setbacks during the ceremony because of this and the timing was off since he wasn’t prepared for the last minute change, but he adjusted pretty quickly and was able to get most of our ceremony back on track. He was absolutely wonderful making introductions throughout the night and playing music that had our relatively small group up and dancing all night! He was a lot of fun and had great energy – we had a ton of compliments on how great of a party he lead. Would definitely recommend Mark and Something2Dance2.

Leading up to the wedding, he made sure to keep in touch with us and on top of everything, which was a great relief with all the other vendors and planning we had to keep track of. His hard work shown through with the great night we had with him as our DJ! Also, he was the first DJ to play at the brand new venue in Naperville, Elements at Water Street, since we were the first big wedding there.
