was hoping to find something that combined all these parts. When I told my consultant Taylor, she knew exactly which dress to pull and that was my dress! They had such a beautiful and varied range of dresses so I decided to try on several others but we both knew she had nailed it with the first pick. Not only did she help me find the dress, she helped me customize the dress to truly make it my dream dress. We added 2ft to the train, found the perfect removable sleeve and Taylor stopped at no end to find a seamstress who would embroider my new last name on the bow of the dress in blue as my "something blue".
The great experience didn't stop there, when I went for my first fitting I realized because of the extended train my dress was going to be too heavy to wear all evening so I was able to shop the sample sale where Taylor helped me find the most perfect reception dress that made me feel incredible!
Their seamstress Irena is also incredibly talented as well! I was an international bride so I had a very tight timeline to have both dresses altered but Irena worked her magic and altered both dresses to perfection in just a few weeks!

The salesperson was so helpful, and made me feel so comfortable. She didn't pressure me at all and even told me it's ok to sleep on it.
I ended up with an original silk dress that I ADORE! My dress was such a hit, and I got so many compliments. I also purchased my veil from them.
But the service didn't stop at the point of sale. They go above and beyond! They connected me with a seamstress who did my alterations right at Something Bleu, which was so convenient.
And after the alterations were done the shop pressed and cleaned my dress and veil and set up a time just before my wedding for me to come pick it up--so it didn't end up all wrinkled shoved in a closet at my house.
They also connected me with a cleaning service after the wedding and gave me a discount on cleaning.
I can't say enough what a wonderful shop this is! Amazing team with great energy. And even the building is gorgeous and sunny. A dream!

Christina Wu strapless mermaid Victorian gown that I fell in love with unexpectedly (I came in thinking I wanted a v-neck A-line). Irena helped ensure that I would feel comfortable and supported by creating little spaghetti straps I could hide during the ceremony and wear during the reception. As far as the shopping experience - the boutique has a warm and luxurious atmosphere which made the try-on process feel very comfortable and special. I only wish they allowed us to enjoy Champagne on such a celebratory day! The Zoom screen for my friends during Covid was helpful so everyone could be included in the process. I appreciated the text communication following my dress purchase and the flexibility/organization with appointment making to ensure that I had ample time for alterations and fittings. I was never stressed about my dress at any time, which is such a nice weight off a bride's shoulders! My only critique is that the staff felt slightly impersonal, like I was "just another bride" on the assembly line. But all in all, I was very satisfied with my experience at Something Bleu!

I ended up purchasing the Harper gown from Madi Lane Designs through them at my very first appointment. They were amazing to work with through COVID, and all my fittings. actual dress arrived, I learned that having long sleeves means you can't lift your arms above 45 degrees and having low back and low-ish front means that the shoulders slide off. Since this was my first time buying a wedding dress, it would have been nice for someone to clue me in on this.
Also, I had eaten lunch right before she got my measurements for the dress, and she had measured me and said I was a size 2 except for 1" too large in the belly, so she recommends I get a size 4. I said okay, since she is the expert. However, when I hadn't just eaten, the dress was loose in the belly and loose everywhere else, and the alterations cost $500. If I had known that having the larger size meant the alterations would cost so much more, I would have gone with the size 2 and just lost 1 pound.

With their trunk shows, I was able to buy my Madi Lane Harper gown and a gorgeous hair piece to match. t justice. I visited Something Bleu with my mom and aunt after calling in the middle of a traffic jam to see if we could possibly sneak in last minute at the end of a full day of dress-shopping. When we arrived, we were greeted with SUCH kindness and calmness by Marissa, who went on to become my very favorite person in the whole wedding planning process. We removed our shoes and sat down for a few questions about style and budget, and then we both picked out a few dresses for me to try on. The dressing room was more like a romantic dream closet full of beautiful accessories and feminine details. Marissa helped me step into and out of each dress and made me feel instantly at ease; I had no time to feel nervous or anxious about the sizes or looking a certain way because I was having so much fun. The logistics once I found The Dress were so easy - my alterations were done in the same building by a wonderful woman Marissa recommended, and they hold the dress until you need it right before your wedding. They also make it really wasy to come try it on again if you want to. I can't stress enough how lovely this whole process was - it felt like entering a spa but for wedding dress shopping, where these ultra cool women's whole focus is for you to be at ease and to have fun trying on beautiful gowns.
