I had a terrible experience. Firstly, every single time I called the store there was no answer. They called me to leave a message that my alterations appointment (4 weeks prior to ...
wedding) was cancelled, and I am not exaggerating I called back 50 times. My outgoing call log said (50). They eventually answered me on Instagram DM to reschedule the appointment which they cancelled.
The dress was very large on me for my original alterations appointment. When I returned 3 weeks later (week of the wedding) it still did not fit. They assured me my dress was priority because it was my wedding week, but three days later when I went to pick it up it was still not altered correctly. At this point, it was two days before my wedding so I could not alter it again.
The rhinestone corset portion of the dress did not hug my torso at all. It looked like I was drowning in it (I am 5 feet tall and 115 pounds). The dress material was folding up because it was so large on me. Same goes for the big gap between my chest and the strap.
The cup inserts were big on me, and had absolutely zero support for my breasts. When I verbalized my concerns about this, the seamstress responded to “get some scotch tape”. Although I understand women tape up their breasts sometimes, as I was paying a lot of money for a dress and alterations I expected the dress to fit without using unreliable measures such as scotch tape.
To conclude, I would never have purchased this dress the way it fit me on my wedding day. I reached out multiple times after the wedding to express my disappointment, and they did not answer my emails, calls, or Instagram DMs for a month. Which is the only reason I am writing a review; I wanted to avoid publicly bashing them since they are a small business. However, I would not want any other bride to go through what I went through; and have to look back at wedding photos and hate the way her dress looks on her :/.

th a lot of ingenuity and experience, the gals there fixed the dress and improved upon it! They took fabric from optional bows to add material to the sides and back, giving the illusion the dress was like that the whole time. I thought we would be on a time crunch because the dress also came in later than promised, but that was not an issue at all. I ordered my mother of the bride dress there and my other daughter got lucky and was able to get her Maid of Honor dress off the discontinued rack! All our alterations were spot on and the prices were very reasonable. I won't mention the other shop because I don't want to give them any publicity, but I would 100% return to Something Blue!

The dress we went with was a fraction of the cost of the one I saw online, too. It was exactly what I was looking for, and my bridesmaids loved it. Then I found the exact color I needed super quickly thanks to the associates' organized swatch books. We all had a painless and fun experience on the first try!
Two of the girls couldn't make it, and the shop made it easy for them to call in their sizes and order the dress. Most of my bridesmaids didn't even need to get their dresses altered because the staff at the store measured them so accurately. The dresses were ready to be picked up pretty quickly, and everything was right the first time.

I didn't have a set design that I wanted, so she was able to give me a variety of dresses to try on. Being a size 12/14, I was extremely nervous I wouldn't be able to truly visual a dress on myself at my trial appointment, but Something Blue has such a wide variety of sizes available that each dress I tried on I felt happy and beautiful in. The dress that I loved most ended up coming home with me that 1st day! The trial size fit me perfectly, and they gave me a discount for buying it off the rack. I was able to return later for small alterations, and then finally to get my dress steamed. They were great every step of the way, and I will continue to suggest others to buy from them.

ing Blue on a whim because I liked the Allure line. The two experiences were night and day. They were so helpful, it was quiet, and we had plenty of room and time. The whole experience was so pleasant and I found the PERFECT dress for less than the dresses I was looking at at David's Bridal. It was a ballgown with lace, bling, and satin (and pockets!) for less than $1400! The people here are so nice, and although the dress wasn't what I thought I was looking for it was what I didn't know I needed! I felt beautiful on my big day and am still absolutely in love with my dress. The alterations are expensive, and ended up costing us about $500. (It would have been less for a strapless dress). We could have done alterations cheaper from a third party but it was nice to pick up the dress and veil freshly steamed the morning of. Also, they have a line of flower girl dresses with matching American Girl Doll dresses. We surprised our flower girl with the matching doll dress at the rehearsal and she absolutely loved it!

However, I was too afraid to commit to a dress at the time so we proceeded to put the dress on a three day hold. (It was discontinued and there was only one dress left) Three days went by and I decided to let the dress go. Then, about 2-3 weeks later, Joan called back and told me that she had kept the dress on hold the entire time because she knew it was the dress for me. If I were to do this again I would go to a different shop in Sarasota. On the bright side, the shop gave me an unbeatable price. Lesson: you get what you pay for.
