My dress fell apart before the reception.
All of the alterations were rushed even though they had 8 weeks to do them and I offered to leave the dress there for 10 just to give th...
em extra time.
The sleeves fell off, the bustle broke, and the bow barely stayed on.
The dress wasn’t ready until 3 days before I left for the wedding and the seamstress couldn’t remember where anything was pinned on the dress.
I got my wedding dress, my maid of honors dress, and my mother’s dress here. Additionally, we all got our alterations and so did my son for his suit. They were fantastic. Their com...
munication was great, the staff was super helpful, and Anthe the seamstress is just so fun to be around. I went here because I have two sister in laws who also got their dresses here and it was definitely the right decision.
Dress was beautiful and everyone at Something Blue made the process very simple and fun. From trying on the dresses, finalizing my pick, getting alterations, to picking up the dres...
s, everything was perfect!
I had a terrible experience. Firstly, every single time I called the store there was no answer. They called me to leave a message that my alterations appointment (4 weeks prior to ...
wedding) was cancelled, and I am not exaggerating I called back 50 times. My outgoing call log said (50). They eventually answered me on Instagram DM to reschedule the appointment which they cancelled.
The dress was very large on me for my original alterations appointment. When I returned 3 weeks later (week of the wedding) it still did not fit. They assured me my dress was priority because it was my wedding week, but three days later when I went to pick it up it was still not altered correctly. At this point, it was two days before my wedding so I could not alter it again.
The rhinestone corset portion of the dress did not hug my torso at all. It looked like I was drowning in it (I am 5 feet tall and 115 pounds). The dress material was folding up because it was so large on me. Same goes for the big gap between my chest and the strap.
The cup inserts were big on me, and had absolutely zero support for my breasts. When I verbalized my concerns about this, the seamstress responded to “get some scotch tape”. Although I understand women tape up their breasts sometimes, as I was paying a lot of money for a dress and alterations I expected the dress to fit without using unreliable measures such as scotch tape.
To conclude, I would never have purchased this dress the way it fit me on my wedding day. I reached out multiple times after the wedding to express my disappointment, and they did not answer my emails, calls, or Instagram DMs for a month. Which is the only reason I am writing a review; I wanted to avoid publicly bashing them since they are a small business. However, I would not want any other bride to go through what I went through; and have to look back at wedding photos and hate the way her dress looks on her :/.
The seamstresses at Something Blue saved the day when we brought my daughter's dress there for alterations. We ordered it from another shop and they ordered the dress too small. Wi...
th a lot of ingenuity and experience, the gals there fixed the dress and improved upon it! They took fabric from optional bows to add material to the sides and back, giving the illusion the dress was like that the whole time. I thought we would be on a time crunch because the dress also came in later than promised, but that was not an issue at all. I ordered my mother of the bride dress there and my other daughter got lucky and was able to get her Maid of Honor dress off the discontinued rack! All our alterations were spot on and the prices were very reasonable. I won't mention the other shop because I don't want to give them any publicity, but I would 100% return to Something Blue!
Something Blue Bridal has so many beautiful dresses! The staff were very helpful and patient with me during my visit and did a fabulous job on alterations. 10 out of 10 would recom...

I would recommend Something Blue to anyone. They were professional and courteous. They really went the extra mile in helping me find my dream wedding dress and their seamstresses ...

Kristi is the best! She truly made me feel at home whenever I walked into Something Blue. She always understood my vision and helped me find other vendors around the area as well. ...
It’s safe to say she was my savior during this crazy wedding planning process. The salon has a huge selection of dresses and don’t make you feel pressured to try on a “certain number of dresses”. They take their time to help you find the perfect dress for your wedding day. I couldn’t say thank you enough!

Kristi was very knowledgeable and her expertise really helped. They made the process smooth for fittings even with me being from out of state. They were also able to help the groomsmen rent tuxes and I ordered my bridesmaids and flower girl dresses with them. I am so happy they helped me find my dream dress and made my day very special!
My girls and I came here to find their dress, and it was such a fun experience at Something Blue.

desmaids floor - and there was a wide selection available. I had been looking for something similar to a designer dress I found on Pinterest, and within ten minutes we found the one. The dress we went with was a fraction of the cost of the one I saw online, too. It was exactly what I was looking for, and my bridesmaids loved it. Then I found the exact color I needed super quickly thanks to the associates' organized swatch books. We all had a painless and fun experience on the first try!
Two of the girls couldn't make it, and the shop made it easy for them to call in their sizes and order the dress. Most of my bridesmaids didn't even need to get their dresses altered because the staff at the store measured them so accurately. The dresses were ready to be picked up pretty quickly, and everything was right the first time.
I thankfully only needed to shop in my own backyard to find a great dress. Josie was a perfect fit for me, as well. Kind and helpful, she made the experience enjoyable and peaceful...

Something Blue Bridal Boutique has been a family tradition when it comes to buying wedding dresses. I knew when I got engaged that I had to follow suit with all the other women in ...
my family, and purchase my dress with them. My assistant was wonderful in helping me find my dream dress. I didn't have a set design that I wanted, so she was able to give me a variety of dresses to try on. Being a size 12/14, I was extremely nervous I wouldn't be able to truly visual a dress on myself at my trial appointment, but Something Blue has such a wide variety of sizes available that each dress I tried on I felt happy and beautiful in. The dress that I loved most ended up coming home with me that 1st day! The trial size fit me perfectly, and they gave me a discount for buying it off the rack. I was able to return later for small alterations, and then finally to get my dress steamed. They were great every step of the way, and I will continue to suggest others to buy from them.
From start to finish, it was a great experience with Something Blue. From day 1 of wedding dress shopping (when I was nervous and had no idea what I wanted) up to my wedding day, e...
veryone at Something Blue was a pleasure to work with. They helped me find the most beautiful dress for me, and altered it so that it fit me perfectly! I also shopped at The Perfect Dress in Sarasota (who also had beautiful dresses) but went back to Something Blue because the service there was that much better. They not only have a gorgeous selection of wedding dresses, but also of accessories and other clothing. I bought my dress for rehearsal dinner and for my bridal shower from here too. Thank you Something Blue for helping me feel like the most beautiful bride!!

ady in the alterations wanted to cut the layer underneath the lace on my dress & bustle it in a certain way- I had to tell her at least 5 times I did not want it cut & I only wanted one bustle. She was insistent that it was not a good idea but it turned out absolutely fine- I'm glad held my ground. However, I still would recommend Something Blue, everyone else was amazing- just go somewhere else for alterations.

Being an "out-of-town" bride I was nervous about the coordination for fittings. Kristi and her team worked with my travel schedule and made everything simple and easy for me.
Something Blue is a one stop shop for all of your wedding attire needs!
All of the bridesmaids and mother of the bride got their dresses here and the groom and the groom's men were able to rent their tuxes as well!
Thank you Something Blue for a beautiful dress and outstanding service!!

g day of trying on dresses through the many fittings after, they were consistently lovely. At one point there was a problem with my dress and I was terrified they wouldn't help me, but they did! They went out of their way to make sure everything about the dress was perfect and to my liking. I highly recommend Something Blue Bridal Boutique!
I ABSOLUTELY recommend you go to Something Blue to go dress shopping. I had gone to David's Bridal because I was on a budget, and had an okay experience. We decided to go to Someth...
ing Blue on a whim because I liked the Allure line. The two experiences were night and day. They were so helpful, it was quiet, and we had plenty of room and time. The whole experience was so pleasant and I found the PERFECT dress for less than the dresses I was looking at at David's Bridal. It was a ballgown with lace, bling, and satin (and pockets!) for less than $1400! The people here are so nice, and although the dress wasn't what I thought I was looking for it was what I didn't know I needed! I felt beautiful on my big day and am still absolutely in love with my dress. The alterations are expensive, and ended up costing us about $500. (It would have been less for a strapless dress). We could have done alterations cheaper from a third party but it was nice to pick up the dress and veil freshly steamed the morning of. Also, they have a line of flower girl dresses with matching American Girl Doll dresses. We surprised our flower girl with the matching doll dress at the rehearsal and she absolutely loved it!

lost about 50 pounds and was terrified my dress wouldn't fit and they wouldn't be able to fix it. I was wrong. The alterations lady was a miracle worker and was able to make my dress look perfect, even adding straps to it to make me more comfortable. Such a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them!

ess over my budget, the consultant quickly found a comparable dress for half the price. I loved it even more. They were open to me bringing in my own accessories to make the dress my own. The alternations department is top notch - my dress fit perfectly. Hopefully I don't have to get married again, so I'm recommending this salon to everyone I know.
I didn't purchase my dress from Something Blue, but I did have alterations done there. The tailor was very friendly and talented. The boutique was really easy to work with.
Trying on wedding gowns was my absolute favorite part of wedding planning! I loved Something Blue Bridal Boutique! They have a great selection of gowns and the staff is amazing!

to say that I ended up buying a sample gown which was 4 sizes too big. I have to admit this worried me, since I didnt know how it would look finished until a couple days before the wedding. The seamstress did an amazing job!!! The dress was flawless even after it had to be reshaped to fit my size. I couldn't have been happier, even if I had ordered the gown new. I would DEFINITELY recommend this store to any bride. Their prices are great (even for new gowns), and if they could take my gown in 4 sizes... they can do anything!!!
Although I did not buy my dress at Something Blue, I did find very many beautiful gowns and excellent alterations and service within this beautiful little store. All of the ladies ...
are knowledgeable, and helpful while making the shyest of bride feel comfortable. I had a good amount of my dress taken in and pockets added, all of the work was done quickly and perfectly. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for dress for not only a wedding but any special occasion!

arrow down what I wanted from my vague description and their wide selection. On my second visit she patiently helped me decide between the eight dresses I picked out. The lady who does alterations at the shop is a magician---she does such expert work. I loved their selection, I love the decor in the shop, their staff was super friendly and helpful---and if you value patience---they have tons of it. I had a great experience with Something Blue. They also rented the tuxes to all the gentlemen in our wedding, as well as the bridesmaid dress and the mother of the bride. Great job on all of it!
My mom and I stopped in to Something Blue Bridal Boutique just to look and see what dress style I wanted. The girl behind the counter was extremelly happy and was more than happy ...
to help us even though we didn't have an appointment. She let me walk through and pick out dresses to try on that caught my eye. After I had about 15 dresses, I went to try them on. And there were some nice ones and some dresses that were totally wrong for me. The second to last one I tried on was the dress. It fit me perfectly and I looked stunning! My mom even teared up. To my surprise, it was actually really reasonable, costing only $400. They were not pushy at all, just extremely helpful! I recommend them to all my friends that are looking for wedding dresses!!

Something Blue Bridal was the one and ONLY place I went in search of my wedding dress. On my first appointment, Joan was my consultant. My budget was around $600 and she definitely...
stuck to it. She let me, my mother and sister pick out the dressed we liked and then she chose some that she thought looked good. I ended up falling in love with the dress Joan had picked for me. However, I was too afraid to commit to a dress at the time so we proceeded to put the dress on a three day hold. (It was discontinued and there was only one dress left) Three days went by and I decided to let the dress go. Then, about 2-3 weeks later, Joan called back and told me that she had kept the dress on hold the entire time because she knew it was the dress for me. I ended up going back to try it on and purchasing it the same day! She was fantastic!
I really liked the service and the selection when I was shopping. However, I was promised a certain date for the dress to arrive and it did not arrive for 3 more months. That made ...
it tricky getting my alterations finished in time. When I finally was able to pick up the dress the service was slim. I was never asked to set up an appointment for alterations. If I were to do this again I would go to a different shop in Sarasota. On the bright side, the shop gave me an unbeatable price. Lesson: you get what you pay for.
