The people at Something Blue were great to work with. The seamstresses were helpful and easy to work with. The only thing I wished I would have known, they have switched their business model. The dresses are not secondhand, and you cannot sell yours back to them.
would not recommend at all. Employee that "helped" me was rude. Made comments and questions why I was looking for a dress when my wedding was so far away. Was working with another bride and paid no attention to me or my party that was with me.
Fantastic experience for both dress shopping, decor shopping, and alterations. They have a very laid back shopping atmosphere if you're looking for something less formal than the traditional wedding dress shopping experience. The dresses are very reasonably priced and there was tons of variety. It was also convenient to be able to purchase decor there as well and they have lots of items! I also did my alterations with them and Eleanor was amazing! She was personable, made me feel comfortable, and most of all did amazing on my alterations. Highly recommend
While this might be a worthwhile place to shop for your wedding, be very wary of consigning here afterward. This business model seems to be built on a “profits before people” mentality without regard, care, or concern for consigners.
I went to Something Blue after my best woman told me her sister got her wedding dress there. I planned to only browse, but ended up walking away with my dress! The wedding dresses are lovely, and much more affordable than your standard bridal boutique. There are consignment dresses, but many of the dresses are floor models and have never been worn--that is the case with my dress. I had my alterations done there, and they were perfect--plus the pricing was incredibly fair. If you want a place where you will be waited on, then this might not be the place for you. But if you are looking for a stunning dress at a fraction of the cost, then definitely start here.
Great prices! Great wedding decor and dresses! Everything you need to plan a wedding!
I am absolutely heartbroken and blown away by this company. Back in the fall, I turned my wedding dress over to this company to be sold in hopes that I would make half of the profit off of the sale. Every few months, I am responsible to pay a $5 fee in order to keep my wedding dress at this store. A few months ago, I called in to pay my $5 fee. The girl on the other end of the phone showed me how to login to my account on the computer and make sure that my $5 got paid. I have consistently done this since the fall.
Today, I called the company to make sure that I was up to date with my $5 fee. I was told that my last $5 payment was never received and that I am NO longer the owner of MY wedding dress. My wedding dress now belongs to Something Blue and I will no longer make any profit from the sale of the dress.
Not once did Something Blue take the time to make a phone call to me and let me know that they did not receive my $5 payment and that I would be losing the rights to my own wedding dress. Essentially, I handed them a wedding dress that I paid thousands of dollars for so that they can sell it and make the money off of it. They essentially took this dress from me without showing any sort of courtesy to those who are giving them business.
I understand that there are contracts with things like this and that I am responsible to pay my $5 every few months. On my account, it currently says that I do not owe anything to Something Blue. The girl that taught me how to check my account said that it would tell me online when I owe the $5. Still to this day, it says I do not owe any money. The manager went on to tell me today that there's she's not willing to help me out at all and that I should have read the contract.
I am truly heartbroken by my experience with this company!
I had a work event that was black tie and I had ordered a dress online that did not come in time. I had then been to the mall and all the dress shops I could think of that morning. I was at home crying in bed not planning to go to my event that night because I couldnt find a dress I liked in my size in my budget. I decided to give something Blue my last shot and walked in with not much hope, especially because finding one i like that would actually be in my size was a long shot. I walked in and Katie could tell I was exhausted and uninterested. She asked my size and an idea of my style. She pulled about 5 dresses off the rack that I probably wouldn't have even picked myself and I went to do the dreaded try on process. The very first dress I tried on fit me perfectly and I loved it! I didn't even try on the others! I had problems processing a card that didn't like their system so I headed to the bank to find a way to get THAT dress from her and not go somewhere else! I was so pleasantly surprised with the service that I sent my sister in the very next weekend to look for her wedding dress. It was the only place she looked and she bought her dress that day! TRY SOMETHING BLUE FIRST!! They have a lot of cute stuff in the store and you will save money.
My mom, sister and I went to look for dresses and within an hour and a half or so had tried on 12-16 dresses! The staff is super helpful and friendly and you are free to grab and try on whatever dresses you like. Their dresses are all consigned but they are also all $1000 or less. The two I was tied between were both brand new with the tags on them. They were both $1000 but one was a brand new David Tutera dress. In addition to the dresses they also have decor that you can buy if you don't feel like making something yourself.
I highly recommend visiting Something Blue, not only for wedding gowns, but also for their decor!! When my sister was getting married, we went to Something Blue and purchased multiple boxes of milk glass dishes, vases, bowls, platters and little bird sculptures and it was only slightly more than what other places wanted to charge us for renting them. My best friend is getting married soon and I can’t wait to stop by again!!
I had the best experience at Something Blue. The staff is so extremely friendly as well as helpful, yet also know when to give the bride and her party some space. It was such a relaxed environment, and not overwhelming at all. I recommend going here to any bride, especially ones who are looking for a good deal, like me ;-)
A great variety of decor, supplies, veils and dresses for brides. I bought my dress from here. It had never been worn and still had the tags but I got it at a discount. They were great to give me the space I wanted as I decided on my dress but were very helpful when we needed it as well.
Beautiful dresses for an affordable price. They are so helpful and friendly. The in house alterations are wonderful as well. Great selections for every bride from ballroom princess to vintage elegance.
My step-mom, MOH (also my sister), and I ventured here one Sunday. The girls were so helpful and nice! They only had one dressing room and there were a couple of bride's ahead of me to try on dresses, and were very apologetic about the wait (we did not mind). Prices are great! The dress I found was very similar to one I had tried at another store for $400 less! They also gave me a gift for purchasing my dress with them. Amazing store and owners!
