SYC is the absolute BEST! Ashley reinvented my mom's dress for my ceremony and created a custom two-piece for my reception. It was such a joy and honor to get to walk down the aisle in my mom's dress, it also turned out to be the dress of my dreams. Ashley helped me make some style choices, but was able to keep the integrity of the dress and still felt like it was what my mom walked down the aisle in 30 years ago! Then my reception two piece was AMAZING. I felt like I was wearing my personality complete with ostrich feathers, and made to fit me perfectly! It was so fun to start from scratch, pick fabric, fit, and a million style choices along the way all under Ashley's guidance and expertise! Her team is absolutely fabulous and her new studio is STUNNING! SYC THANK YOU! I'm forever obsessed!
Just don't. Ashley has made a habit of scamming women out of money and soliciting fake good reviews from friends and family who've never used her service.
Butchered the sleeves on my daughter's dress with crooked, sloppy seams -- and charged almost 2k for alterations that would've cost half that at any reputable store. Avoid.
Go somewhere else, please. Ashley does not respect brides and scams customers out of money by taking double the amount of time she should on alterations. She conned a friend of mine, disrespected her, and we're talking with multiple other brides she's treated the same way. Don't risk it!! Go somewhere else!!
What should have been one of the most “high end” bridal alterations experiences in town felt like negotiating the price of a used iPhone 6 in a dark alley at a Craigslist meetup. So glad I got law enforcement involved, have it all recorded, and filed a formal complaint with the BBB.
Run, hop, skip, jump, speed too fast and furiously - don’t walk, away from this bridal studio! If you go and get conned with a surprise $700 invoice you weren’t quoted for after you’ve already paid $1200 for standard wedding dress alterations, don’t say you weren’t warned. I’m trying to help you out here, sis.
Ashley is a liar and a con artist, and we have her acknowledging and apologizing in a voice recording that she didn’t quote me for 5 EXTRA HOURS OF WORK on my dress, despite her initial estimate of 9 hours. She still held my dress hostage until four days before I left on a plane for my wedding, and HAD HER HUSBAND come out and demand I pay her for time I didn’t approve.
This all started when she became very flustered by simple questions about why it took so much longer and how photos from the second fitting appeared to have areas completed that I was charged for on the second invoice, work that supposedly happened after the fact. She tried to dodge those simple questions by stating she’d refund me for my two fittings (totaling $250), but it gets even better. She sent the same refund confirmation twice to make it seem like she’d made good on her promise. I’ve still not received confirmation for the second $125 refund after confronting her twice and her husband once about it.
Please, if you do forgo this warning - get EVERYTHING in writing. Even If you pay a large sum at your second fitting, and the receipt says your outstanding balance is $0 - get something else in writing that states that the balance is in fact $0.
She was never able to provide me with an itemized receipt or an explanation for why it took so much extra time, nor with an explanation for why I wasn’t given a chance to consent to the five extra hours of work, despite admitting on voice recording that she didn’t quote me or request permission. I lost count of how many times I requested an itemized detailed invoice and will never get it. Despite no answers, it was no money, no dress, end of story! I called to cops to make sure she wouldn't get in my face again, and was forced to pay under duress. The transaction literally occurred in the alley on the side of her studio.
If you like surprise $700 invoices and having your belongings held hostage by scam artists, call Ashley today! Otherwise, stay far away from Something You Couture. I wonder how many people she has taken advantage of because I saw another review describing a similar experience on another website.
Do you want to be treated like absolute trash right before your wedding? Go to Something You Couture!! My sister had her wedding dress altered here, and Ashley tried to con her out of an extra, unapproved $700 charge by sending an invoice two days before my sis was supposed to pick up her dress -- and then holding her wedding dress hostage. My sister had already paid over $1200 for alterations -- the entire amount initially quoted for ALL work needed on the dress. Ashley KNEW my sister was leaving for her destination wedding in four days , and I have no doubt she did this purposely.
When asked for an itemized invoice accounting for extra work done, or explaining how the scope of the project changed since the initial estimate? Ashley became irate, got in our faces, literally snapped in my face and kicked us out of the store. Her behavior was so ludicrous we filed an incident report with the cops. We also had to bring a cop with us to pick up the wedding dress, and Ashley sent her husband to talk to us because she couldn't account for her behavior or the charges.
If you want voice recordings of our interactions with Ashley or email receipts showing how rudely she treats her clients, please message and I'll provide. I'm so angry my sister was treated so terribly by a dishonest scammer.
And of course, we've YET to receive a detailed, itemized receipt. Save your pre-wedding sanity -- STAY FAR AWAY.
Ashley did a fantastic job of altering my wedding dress. She was very professional, easy to work with and personable! She made sure I was comfortable with everything she was doing and reassured me throughout the process. My dress fit perfectly for the wedding and looked beautiful.
I had no idea what I wanted to a wedding dress and ended up purchasing one at a local boutique. Then I brought my gown to Ashley and she transformed it into beyond my every dream. I couldn't even imagine how perfect my dress would be, but Ashley knew exactly what to do. She listened to me and with her expertise made my gown not only fit like a glove but brought my vision to life. I can not recommend her enough, she is the best!!!
Ashley made a jumpsuit for my second look at our wedding and I felt like a GODDESS! From start to finish, she was a dream to work with. She helped me every step of the way and the finished product could not have been more perfect. It fit me like a glove and I am dying to find a reason to wear it again!
I absolutely loved working with Ashley from Something You Couture! She puts her clients first and always has a smile on her face. Her talent, personality and love for her craft is truly amazing! Best experience ever!
Ashley and Something You are AMAZING. Designed and created a wedding dress that is STILL getting attention 5 years later - a classic, timeless piece that was exactly what I had envisioned, simple, timeless and unlike anything I could find in the market. Ashley is an absolute joy to work with and she's made several other custom garments for me that were equally as fabulous. She gives everything she has to make sure that you feel gorgeous and confident.
Loved working with Ashley to make my dream wedding dress and veil a reality. She understood what I was envisioning, and made my dream dress and veil even better than I could have imagined! Her years of experience and invaluable suggestions elevated my dress and veil. She has such a passion for designing and truly cares about you and your experience, and of course, the outcome of your dress. She does all she can to ensure you are 100% happy. Whether you know exactly what you want, or you just have a general idea, Ashley will work with you along the way and will exceed your expectations.
Such and easy person to work with. She listened to me and made suggestions, and truly honest and sincere. I felt AMAZING in my dress.
