I am so happy with the service that Sonar Beauty Bridal Nook provided. My husband and I were part of the barrage of engaged couples that postponed their wedding (numerous times) due to COVID-19. As a result, we lost a few vendors along the way including my the stylists for my hair & makeup. I was able to contact Sonar Beauty within a month & a half of our wedding and get fit in incredibly quickly. They were also so supportive of me bringing my mom, despite her having her hair done elsewhere and her asking to do her own makeup (by herself) at Sonar Beauty Bridal Nook. They knew instinctively what I needed to make my wedding day perfect and they absolutely kicked butt. Here are the hardcore deets: my hair & makeup was AMAZING and everything I could have ever wanted. They were so sweet to my mom, which just made the start of my wedding day even more perfect. We had to book somewhat last minute due to our previous hair stylist falling through. Kristan was so kind to take us on. She and another team member did my hair, my mom's, and all 6 of my bridesmaid's hair. We all looked stunning and had plenty of time for our photos before the ceremony. Kristan also did my make-up with was fabulous. I'm always reluctant for others to do my make-up afraid of how I may look after, but I've never felt so beautiful. I highly recommend!

We had a great experience with Kristan and Felicity! Both ladies arrived on time at our getting ready location and made us look beautiful. OMG they were amazing!! They arrived at my house at the exact time they said, were incredibly professional but sooo much fun to get ready with!! They were amazing and worked well as a team. I felt comfortable to tell them to try something different-one of my bridesmaid switched what they wanted for their hair after it was done and they didn't blink and eye and re-did her hair and it looked amazing! (The first time it looked great too she just changed her mind haha) They even had enough time to do another girls makeup! Very efficient and finished early :) My grandma who has never gotten her hair or makeup done professional was very hesitant but they made her feel comfortable and she loved the end results! The Sonar Beauty team was amazing! Our original wedding had to be moved because of the pandemic, but Kristan was so easy to work with to reschedule. Their stylists Rachel and Ivette did an amazing job doing hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids and were a joy to have and laugh with as we got ready for the big day!

Kristan took care of my hair and makeup for my elopement. I wasn’t at all sure of what I wanted, and she was so helpful in figuring out a look for me. I even initially wanted a straight blowout for my hair, but she suggested trying some curls instead, and that’s what we went with day of. She also made a trial happen for me, even though I was on a tight travel schedule and she was facing travel issues as well. Day of, my hair and makeup survived a car accident (I was rear ended when I was heading home to finish getting ready), wind, and some tears (stress and/or emotional). Everything lasted through 10-12 hours of insanity. I would definitely recommend her!

We rented out Sonar Beauty Bridal Nook for me and my 9 bridesmaids to get hair and makeup done for my wedding. We had 4 artists, and they all were fantastic. Everyone loved their hair and makeup and they made everyone feel comfortable. The space is super cute and we appreciated not having to squeeze into a hotel room to get ready. Would highly recommend Sonar for your wedding!

Kristan did my hair and makeup for my micro-wedding and she was awesome! She was super easy to work with and great about listening to what I wanted and changing things as needed. I am so happy with how my look turned out and the photos look amazing. We're planning to have a bigger reception post-covid and I will definitely use Sonar Beauty again if they're available!

Kristan and her team did a wonderful job! I went in for a bridal trial and she gave me an amazing up-do that was swoon worthy that she just envisioned and made happen. I ended up changing my hair a few days before the wedding and she made the look come to life without doing it before - outside of how great it looked, I felt great! On top of that, she's just a pleasant person to work with and all of my bridesmaids said the same thing about her and her team. Our makeup looked so natural, photographed wonderfully, and stayed on all day/night long. You won't regret hiring Sonar for your special day!

Kristen and Jaclyn did a fabulous job getting our bride and bridal party polished and photo ready on our big day. We had heat, humidity, rain and then cold temps to deal with throughout the day but hair and make-up looked awesome all day. Wedding days are stressful and a little like putting together a one day circus. So much to do, so many moving pieces, and high expectations. Kristen and Jaclyn made sure everyone looked and felt like the best version of themselves. They were on time, professional, skilled, and flexible. 100% recommend.

Sonar offered the most bang for my buck, so I'm really glad to have found them. They were super responsive in helping me book my trial & wedding day appointments. And, most importantly, I felt like a beautiful bride & my bridesmaids looked amazing too! We did experience come communication issues with them, including the date of my hair/makeup trial & the pricing of my bridesmaid hairstyles. While the trial date mix up was frustrating, they were extremely apologetic & we were able to have my trial within hours of my initial appointment. No biggie. Then, I made sure to FULLY understand pricing before my big day so I could have the right amount of cash on hand. But apparently the pricing I initially received was incorrect, despite my efforts to be 100% clear about it before my wedding day. It was stressful to be asked for more money for these services on my wedding day, even when email communications repeatedly confirmed the pricing I was initially told. They ended up honoring the initial pricing, but one of the stylists was pretty pushy and kind of rude about it, which was upsetting.

Jessica did such an amazing job with my hair and make up! I have a short pixie hair cut and was very nervous going into the appointment since I am somewhat of a unique bride, but Jessica made me look like an angel! The entire night, I got so many complements on how amazing I looked. Jessica was a ton of fun and has such a sweet personality. She even offered to help my mom with her hair for no charge which meant the world to us! I would 10/10 recommend these lovely people and especially Jessica to anyone I know!

Sonar Beauty Salon was a pleasure to work with. I booked them from out of town and was able to schedule everything over the phone. Elena was our stylist for the day, and she was so great to work with. Elena listened to what I wanted and made me feel like a beautiful bride.

Raychill was my hair stylist and makeup artist with Sonar. I was blown away with how beautiful my hair and makeup was and I don’t think I’ll ever look this good again! She really listened to what I was envisioning and took it to the next level. I am so thrilled with how everything turned out and how happy all my bridesmaids were with their own makeup and hair. Our stylists arrived right on time and finished all of our hair and make up with plenty of spare time. I had a half-updo with a fishtail braid on the side and curls and my make up was simple. I LOVED it! I received plenty of complements since my looked very natural and clean.

Kristan was an absolute dream to work with. I had an odd request - early morning style for a 10:30am private ceremony that needed to last through the night for a break in the afternoon and a 6pm-11pm reception. I had a couple of inspiration photos but honestly didn’t really know what I wanted and was just worried about my super fine hair holding style all day. She got creative and worked her magic and it turned out perfect. We didn’t do a trial beforehand. I also contacted Sonar really close to my wedding date after last-minute deciding I couldn’t do my hair myself and they worked with me to get me and my officiant in for styles super early on a Saturday morning with a smile on their faces. So professional and accommodating!

These ladies really worked their magic for us! They were on time and amazing at their craft. I had a destination wedding in Dripping Springs and wasn't able to do a run through of my look until day of the wedding. I just showed them my dress and let them know what I was thinking and both my makeup and hair came out incredible. My bridesmaids and mother of the bride and groom looked gorgeous as well. They can do it all! So happy with our photos and I felt beautiful for such a special occasion.

Elena and Rachel came to the rescue after my original hair / make up lady broke our contract and cancelled on me and my bridesmaids. Elena was so fast and did a wonderful job on my matron of honor and sister in laws hair. She also did the makeup for m matron of honor and did an amazing job and nailed the look my matron of honor was trying to achieve. Rachel worked her magic on me and did an amazing job on my hair and makeup she took her time and ensured I looked flawless. She even packed me a make up touch up kit for the evening, so I would look gorgeous all day and night thru the reception. I can't say enough about these two, they make a great team and everyone at the wedding commented on how stunning me and my bridal party looked all evening!

Chelsea was amazing! I didn’t book a trial for my hair or makeup but everything came out looking exactly how I had wanted. Our wedding was outdoors on a 100 degree day & my makeup never smeared & my hair never fell.

My bridesmaids and I had the best time hanging out at Sonar Beauty Salon before my wedding. Kristen was a dream to work with. She listened attentively to my feedback during the hair and makeup trial and honored the fact that I'm not a big makeup gal by creating a flawless natural look. On the day of the wedding, she was relaxed and laidback which created a calm atmosphere. She also worked incredibly hard and did multiple peoples hair and makeup in a crazy efficient amount of time. Our hair and makeup looked stunning and held up all night at my outdoor wedding on a 95 degree summer day. The salon itself was adorable and comfortable. We brought lunch/champagne and lounged on the cute back patio and indoors in the intimate seating area. We really enjoyed our experience hanging out at the salon and felt glam throughout the evening thanks to our beautiful makeup and hair service!

Sonar Beauty was a joy to work with. From the initial booking process all the way to the day of the wedding, communication was a breeze and I felt updated and informed the entire way through. Julie was excellent in addressing all of my booking concerns/needs. My stylists for the wedding day were Chelsea and Felicity, and they were both very professional while also being a ton of fun to work with. They were very respectful of my/my bridesmaids' requests and provided a lot of great hair/makeup tips moving forward :) I was a bit nervous the day of my wedding because I had been unable to book a trial hair/makeup run, since I do not live in the area. However, both stylists assured me that they had my back and I could not have been more satisfied with the service that they provided. I would absolutely recommend booking with Sonar Beauty if you are in the Austin area.

I used Sonar Beauty for my Bridal portraits and for my Wedding! We used onsite services each time and the staff were amazing! They make you feel very comfortable and relaxed throughout the process and were able to create the looks we wanted based on the pictures we showed them for how we wanted our hair and make up done and even gave professional recommendations. Kristin is a goddess with hair and make up! The pricing was affordable... especially the bridal package, and with all the services we had done we got out in a very timely manner so that we could head to the venue on time! I would highly recommend!

Kristan and her team are great! The makeup was glam but still looked natural. I told them I wanted to look done up but still look like me and the result was the perfect mix. My hair was also beautiful. I had chosen one style during my trial and changed my mind before the day-of, Kristan rolled with it and created exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend this team! Rachel did my hair and make up for my wedding and I was SO impressed! I don't wear make-up and I am super picky. I usually hate it when I get my make-up done, but figured I should probably do it on my wedding day for pictures. I was so so so happy with my make-up on my wedding day. I looked just like a more special version of myself. She kept it natural looking and highlighted my features. It was exactly what I wanted. My mom also got her make-up done by Rachel because she was so impressed with her. My mom looked awesome as well! I would choose her over and over again. I wish Rachel could do my make up every time I have a special event!

Hair and makeup were on point! The only reason I hesitated to give them 5 stars was because I was told we would need to add a third stylist due to how many services we were asking to be done within the 4-hour window we had available in the suite we rented out at the venue. I completely understood, but the day of only one out of the three utilized her time to the max while one did only makeup (did an amazing job but took a long time) & the other only prepped hair. The gal that was prepping the girls hair sat around once she was done. We end up cutting it pretty close to picture time, but all in all it all worked out and I was very happy with how everyone's hair & make up turned out which is the most important part.

Loved having Kristan and Brooke do hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids. They were so fun and easy to work with and could recreate any look just by showing them a picture for inspiration. They came onsite to our hotel room to make it easier for us to get ready. We all loved our day of looks and can't say enough good things about Sonar.

Sonar Beauty was great, and made everything easy and stress-free. I used them for my on-site wedding hair/makeup, as well as my bridesmaids’ makeup. Kristan and her assistant were on-time, friendly and fit in seamlessly with our group of girls. None of us had ever had our makeup professionally done before, and they both made us feel comfortable, at-ease and attended to. They listened to exactly what everyone wanted, and made sure everyone’s look matched up with their individual requests. And we all ended up looking beautiful, but still like ourselves. Sonar Beauty was a solid pick. I was a little nervous at first, because I had a hard time getting anyone to respond to me when I first sent initial inquiries, but after the contract was signed I never got anything less than professional and courteous attention. I did the package of hair trial, bridal hair, and airbrush makeup, and from the first minute of my hair trial Kristan made me feel welcome and comfortable in her adorable vintage South Congress studio. She also whipped up an amazing do for my hair (and decided AGAINST using jeweled pins for my hair, which she could have charged me extra for, but decided they didn't look right with the image we were going for). She looked at photos of my dress, and the venue, listened carefully when I described what level of elegance I was looking for, and took what I said to heart. My hair looked glorious. On the day of, she and Rachel were right on time, and were cheerfully flexible about the rather small workspace of my doll-sized bridal suite. I had specifically asked for stylists that could handle African American hair, since all three of my bridesmaids had some, and they were both competent at handling such hair and making it look great. They also interviewed my MOH and bridesmaids on the day of as they were getting started, asking what styles they wanted, and really listening and adhering to their preferences as best they could. Sonar wound up doing our hair, and airbrush makeup, AND false lashes for me, AND covering a small tattoo on my arm, and they were still done in under three hours! Both Kristan and Rachel's hands moved like they could do this in their sleep (probably could), and carried on effortless conversations with my bridal party, never needing to backtrack or do over anything. They had to travel quite a ways to get there, haul their massive kits up a flight of narrow stairs, and then go to work in a room with hardly any space, but you'd never know it from their upbeat attitude. Really made the afternoon pleasant and reduced what stress a bride would normally be enduring on that day. Plus, I looked great at the end.

This salon is so cute and tucked away in the center of Austin! I loved getting ready in their space. Elena was so awesome to work with. My hair and makeup trial felt comfortable and she was happy to try various styles with my headpiece. Makeup for me and my bridesmaids was absolutely perfect! So natural and beautiful.

Sonar Beauty Bridal Nook was an awesome venue for my bridesmaids, mom and myself to get ready. We were able to book the entire place for a small fee the morning of the wedding and we had a good time hanging out and talking with our stylists. As the bride, I got extensions put in by Brooke, who did and AMAZING job. She was dedicated to making me look exactly how I wanted on my wedding day, and even went to get extensions for me to match my exact hair color when they didn't have a dark enough shade in the salon. I worked with Julie to schedule everything and she was so helpful and sweet to work with. Thanks Sonar Beauty!

The make up and hair were absolutely stunning, everyone who had it done absolutely loved it.

Brooke and Sarah were fantastic. We didn't give a lot of direction but they did great all natural makeup and hair. They were fast and effcient with our group, and fun to be around. Sonar was professional and easy going. I would highly reccomend their airbrush make up services.

Sonar was great. They came on time and were very personable. If I could change one thing, I would have had them come later in the day because it didn't take very long at all to get everyone made up, but that is more on my part than theirs. Other than that, they were fantastic. I would definitely recommend them.

I didn't have a good experience. First, it was difficult to get in touch with someone to book a package or an appointment. I went ahead and just booked the wedding package (because they had good reviews). I decided to go in for a haircut to see the salon before my wedding stuff—to get to know them, etc. While they were friendly, I was very disappointed in my haircut. In fact, it was such a bad haircut I had to pay another salon a lot of money to fix it. I sent the stylist (and owner) pictures of my haircut, and she said something along the lines of "I don't know how that happened, I'll refund the cost." My hair is as straight as a board and not too thin or thick. I've been told it's very easy to cut and I've also never had anyone mess up my hair. So how she could mess up a simple trim is beyond me. She eventually refunded the cost of the cut, but kept the very decent tip that I gave her. I was pretty upset about the haircut especially with it being before my wedding that I didn't feel like I could trust them with my wedding day hair and makeup. I also had an impossible time scheduling my makeup trial. So I cancelled my wedding package with them, losing $340 (that's how bad the haircut was [pictures on yelp]). If you want to see for yourself, I recommend booking just a trial with them before booking an entire package up front.

Sonar provided excellent hair and makeup services for my sister's wedding. I personally opted for a blowout, airbrush makeup, and lash application. Everything was wonderful! The team came on-site to the hotel to primp us, which made the process so easy. They got the whole group (6 total) done with plenty of time to spare. They were extremely professional, nice, and so much fun to work with. I felt like they cared about individual preferences and how we felt about the "finished product." We all looked great and felt great, which is all you can ask for on the big day. My hair and makeup looked flawless all night, and the bride looked stunning. They did such an amazing job! I'd definitely recommend Sonar, and will look to them for future events in Austin!

Felicity and Alaina really knew how to make all of us feel special and beautiful on my best friend’s wedding day. I always get nervous getting my makeup done before an event, but Felicity listened to me and executed exactly what I wanted. I came to sonar for a wedding trial and now not only do I trust them for my wedding day, I'm now a regular client. Kristan and her crew are top notch, if you want the best go with Sonar. We've got a big wedding and lots of bridesmaids each with their own styles. Kristan is dynamic and comes with so much experience that she can handle (and do an amazing job) on anything and every request.

Kristan was such an excellent addition to my wedding day. She was so fun and easy to have around as we were getting ready, and fit right in with all of the wedding day flow. The hair and makeup she did for me and my maid of honor was flawless, and I have never felt more beautiful than I did that day because of her. I'd ABSOLUTELY recommend Kristan, she's a pro, and will leave you feeling glamorous.

They did a great job with me and all my bridesmaids, and were very flexible day of when a few extra people wanted hair done. Beautiful results and they finished well within the time slot they gave us.

I used Sonar Beauty for my wedding. Kristan was so nice and did a wonderful job. She did my hair and makeup and also my 2 bridesmaids hair. She was super fast, yet did everything perfectly! My makeup lasted all night. My hair on the other hand, fell a little throughout the night, but that was because it had rained during our outdoor pictures and all the dancing we did :) I wouldn’t have changed a thing though. Thank you Sonar Beauty for making my wedding day perfect!

Kristan was amazing! She is a total pro! For a person that is not all that girly, she made me feel so comfortable and even got me to step out of my comfort zone with some fake eyelashes! I also have problem skin and she some how managed to make me look beautiful. The bridal party could not have been happier with their hair and makeup. Kristen is the best❤️❤️❤️❤️

Well these ladies are just lovely! First, their salon is adorable, so definitely go check it out. But more importantly, their work is fantastic. I had a general idea of what I wanted and these ladies ran with it and made me feel absolutely gorgeous. They are true experts and it was an absolute honor to have them be a part of my big day!

I can't event start this without just wanting to say, "OMG she is the best". Not only is Sonar the place to go get your hair done but it has the best bridal prices and professional staff. You feel like you walk out with a new friend and she knows more about you than you know about yourself. :) Kristan is the type of girl that you don't have to tell her what you want...she looks at you and already knows. She is soft with color and makeup but knows how to sass it up if you need it! Her and Brook are a dynamic duo and seriously - just booked them!

Elena did both my hair and my make up for my engagement pictures. She was even able to touch up my color before my pictures as well!! :) I could not have asked for a better stylist. Sonar was great to have at our wedding! Our on wedding day, Sonar showed up on time and were ready to go as soon as my girls were. The makeup and hair looked amazing and lasted all night! We had so many compliments, and even more importantly, I FELT absolutely beautiful on my wedding day. I've even had girls asking what salon I used in Austin so they can get in for an appointment on a regular basis!

Elena and team from sonar beauty did an AMAZING job with my hair and all of my bridesmaid's hair! She also did my mothers and the flower girls! 10+ women she got done in a short matter of time. She didn't rush anybody and made sure it was exactly how everyone wanted it!!! I would recccomend Elena and sonar beauty 100% of the time! I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful wedding- Elena made sure I looked how I wanted and made sure I was happy with what she did. I looked damn good!!! 10/10!! I couldn't thank y'all enough for making my day the best day of my life!!

Sonar Beauty did my trial hair and airbrush make up and they were fantastic. The girls were so sweet and accomodating made me feel so comfortable even though I wasn't completely sure what I wanted/what would look best. I have long, THICK, wavy hair and they nailed it. My airbrush makeup lasted through my portraits and the rest of the day. I could not brag on these girls enough. Sonar Beauty is fabulous!!!

Brooke and Elena are awesome! Elena did my bridesmaids hair, they all loved it and Elena really tried to do what each one wanted. She was also very fast. Brooke did my hair and make up and I could not have loved it more. My hair was beautiful, she changed it up a little from my trail but I loved it even more. My make up was spectacular and it looked great all night and most importantly, it didn't look cakey. I am really happy to have booked with them and 100% recommend brides to do so too. Also, they are really nice and friendly we had a good time. There was also another girl that did the my bridesmaids make up but I can't remember her name and she also did a fantastic job and was super patient.

They were really great. Can't recommend high enough. Loved how my hair and makeup came out. Brooke knows what she's doing. I don't do much makeup in my day to day so I was second guessing her at first but she was right! She also took my ideas/pictures about hair styles and came up with something for me. She listened to my feedback and adjusted what I didn't like. Perfect! The nook is also very cute and great for pictures. We had the whole place to ourselves :)

From the very beginning Kristen and Elena were so much fun to work with. My sister (MOH) and I went the day before my wedding for my trial. We got there and Elena was so professional and confident in her abilities which is very comforting to a nervous bride. I am a pretty go with the flow person, so after describing rough guidelines (mostly down, pretty loose and non-structured), Elena twisted my hair into a beautiful half-up half-down masterpiece. I have long (mid shoulder blade) and THICK hair, and she was able to secure it to where it didn't go anywhere for the rehearsal dinner. After seeing my hair, my sister asked if they had time to do her make-up. They were so accommodating and were able to squeeze her in and did a fabulous job. Kristen did my make-up trial, and it was flawless. She really knows her stuff, including how to pick shades to compliment my light complexion and auburn hair (I'd especially recommend them to any redheads as Kristen has red hair and definitely knows what works). On the day of the wedding, the girls arrived early and ready to get to work. Most of my bridesmaids didn't have anything specific in mind, so Elena was able to get creative with some of the most beautiful braids and up-dos I've seen. Kristen and another girl did a fierce job with the make-up, and were able to accommodate both my glamorous bridesmaids who wanted contouring and smokey eyes as well as my more bare friends that wanted a natural look. I especially loved how perfectly they did the two mom's make-up to look elegant but age-appropriate. The best part is that these girls are FUN, too! They make you feel comfortable and like you're talking to an old friend. My hair and makeup stayed all night, and looked so good in all of our pictures. I would recommend Kristen and her team at Sonar Beauty again and again, and will definitely we visiting them whenever I need to be glammed up. Thanks again to these beautiful and skilled ladies!

Brooke and one of her stylists came and did onsite hair/makeup for myself (bride) and 2 bridesmaids and the mother of the groom. Brooke was so nice and easy to work with. My mom can be a little nuts and she was patient while my mom was making suggestions and helping point my mom in the direction I truly wanted. She did a flawless job on my hair for day of and my makeup was amazing. (airbrush, stayed all day). They traveled to be on site with us and that made the entire day easy and relaxing. I went with Sonar initially as their prices I felt were fair and I couldn't have been happier with how I looked!
