t beautiful wedding and reception. The workers were all compensating to us, we did not have to do a thing. I would recommend this place for a destination wedding any day! Oh did I mention the food, unbelievably good. We had Italian for the rehearsal and the grooms parents were a little nervous about it, as the brides family is Italian, so delicious! I cannot say enough about this place, loved every minute and also highly suggest the farewell brunch after! Happy wedding planning!

ENAL! She was so easy to work with and very responsive to all our questions and needs. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of, thanks to Delaney and the entire Sonesta crew. The food and beverages were delicious! We loved the pavilion area - and also liked that it can be closed in with clear sides incase the weather doesn’t cooperate. They also have a cozy fireplace and heaters in the pavilion. We also had our Welcome Party at the Sea Crest terrace and farewell breakfast in the Savanna ballroom, both in the resort! Our guests loved the beach, pool and events all at the Sonesta! Would highly recommend the Sonesta Resort & Delaney! Our wedding was everything we dreamed of (& more!!) thanks to them!

Theresa was so accommodating and quick to answer whether it was a phone call, email, or a last minute in-person meeting/trip to Hilton Head that I requested. I am a very organized and type A person, and Theresa exceeded my expectations of ensuring my timeline was followed and prompt, that I noticed no day-of hiccups, that guests were helped, and that everything was run smoothly. As a testament to the entire Sonesta catering staff, I cannot believe how friendly and accommodating everyone was. Staff put aside appetizers for my husband and I during cocktail hour to ensure we had a taste of each item. They were also so prompt in serving dinner/drinks that my guests could truly enjoy the entire night without waiting for long periods of time. Theresa and the staff really make sure your day is well-run and special. I highly recommend the Sonesta and specifically Theresa for any brides looking for the perfect beach wedding!

ng to do it in Hilton Head. Sonesta was the CLEAR standout - in part because of the incredible scenery, and in other part because of the cost. We were going for a simple and classic vibe, and the scenery at the Sonesta is just perfect between the beach, the pond and fountain, and the resort overall. We did our ceremony out on the lawn and our reception in the Pavilion. What we loved about the Sonesta was that if it rained, we could still have our wedding in the Pavilion, and could avoid doing anything in a ballroom. We worked mostly with Theresa Anthony and she is absolutely fabulous. She was always up front with us and so excited at the prospect of working with us. We knew we were in the best hands with Theresa. On top of all this, the food is incredible. We had such a hard time making decisions at our tasting because everything was so good and they have so many incredible options. We so look forward to going back to the Sonesta for our anniversary!

She respected our budget and helped connect us with some other amazing vendors in the area. The beach ceremony was beautiful! Yes, we did have some additional beach goers as guests, but everyone was respectful. The reception was beyond expectations. One of the big things that set the Sonesta apart from other venues is the multiple tiers on the deck. It help creates a better dance floor, and makes the space look more interesting. The only additional decorations to the space we made were paper lanterns (by the florists) that weren't needed but turned out really beautiful in the space. We didn't do any additional up lighting and I didn't miss it. The food was AWESOME. The service was excellent, and we had a really fun time with both of the bartenders that night. I really can't speak much higher of the Sonesta and the talented people there that created a beautiful wedding for us!

d the property, we knew this was the place we wanted to host our friends and family for our May wedding. Sonesta HHI hosted 80+ friends and family over 5 days for our destination wedding. We also planned everything to take place on site; a meet and greet, rehearsal dinner, wedding, reception and a day after pool party. Our event coordinator, Theresa, was absolutely phenomenal and extremely professional as she worked with me from 1K+ miles away. Theresa ensured that we were on track throughout the planning process, coordinated with local vendors and also went above and beyond for us on our wedding day and made sure every minute detail was perfect and exactly what we wanted. She also ensured that we had the best staff for our events and the Chef that prepared our menu was superb! One of the staff, Sam, assisted in ceremony and reception set up, and calmed my wedding jitters before the long walk down the aisle. Our guests and we agree that the Sonesta Hilton Head staff executed our wedding day flawlessly and delivered everything we wanted and they promised.

on’t mean the kind of perfect that meets expectations, where everybody walks away saying, “Well, that was nice.” The Sonesta was the kind of perfect that has our GUESTS writing thank you notes to US for choosing that venue. Theresa Anthony was a genius at guiding the planning of our event. We had a basic outline of what we wanted, and Theresa was exactly the right sounding board for us. She was available for questions via telephone and email, and responded quickly to any questions we asked. Her years of experience helped calm the bride, the parents, and the bridal party. From the timing of the music to the setup of the ceremony and reception, every detail was executed seamlessly. I would not hesitate to put any event in her hands. The venue was the ideal setting for our families and friends as well. We had originally booked another venue, which would have required our guests to stay at a “generic” hotel, with few activities available. When staying at the Sonesta, we were able to gather with our guests in the rooms, in the lounges, on the patio, at the beach…. The quality of the guest rooms is what you would expect from a true resort – well-stocked, exceptionally clean, and up-to-date. Because it is centrally located, guests have a great opportunity to easily explore the island. The food. I need to tell you about the food. Because we decided on a morning wedding (10:30), the reception was a glorious brunch. Instead of a buffet, we had separate stations for each type of food – yogurt/fruit, breakfast meats, omelet station, and everyone’s favorite – shrimp and grits. This meant no lines, no waiting, which lead to happy guests and families. The quality of the food and the courtesy of the servers was far above expectations. The Sonesta provided us with a beautiful setting, great common areas to gather, high quality food and beverages, at a very reasonable price. Many kudos to Theresa and her gracious staff for organizing and serving us during this precious weekend event.

Our reception was in the gorgeous pavilion. The staff were so friendly. The food was amaaazing. My husband and I's only regret about the entire night was not eating more of the great food. Haha! We were obviously having too good of a time to be able to think about eating much. We kept receiving compliment after compliment about the food and venue. We are so thankful to Kristen and the Sonesta Resort.

She made sure we had all the little details done for the big day. I was worried because I was planning a destination as I live in Pittsburgh and it's 12 hours away but trust me, everything they did and recommended was perfection. Everything went smoothly and as planned. Theresa is so much fun to work with too! On the big day, she kept us according to timeline. After the ceremony, she even managed to make sure me, my mom, and MIL had drinks in our hand at all times!! Our wedding day was everything we ever imagined and more. It was a true life fairytale! If you're pondering this as a venue, definitely choose The Sonesta, I promise you won't regret it. Our guests still keep talking about how much fun they had and how awesome the food was!!

She was quick to respond to all of our emails and questions while planning (typically within minutes) and she made the wedding day run seamlessly. We were married under the Pavilion and we had our reception there as well. The venue is beautiful and requires minimal additional decor. The Pavilion was renovated sometime at the end of 2016 and the flooring and bar area are incredible. It was obviously a very hot day in June but with the shade of the Pavilion and the outdoor air conditioning units that the resort provided, it wasn't bad. There is a nice breeze off of the ocean. Our main goal for our wedding was to have a location where all of our guests could stay, and where we could have a great, fun, party and Sonesta met all of our expectations. We've had so many of our guests tell us how beautiful it was and what a great time they had. If you're looking for a destination wedding, this IS the place!

a first impression of “absolutely, we’d want to spend the weekend (and our $) here for our friend’s wedding” if we were the attendees. We immediately got that impression when we walked into the Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head. The energy and feel of the entire resort flowed from bright colors and patterns, into the multiple sleepy hammocks and lounge chairs. The newly renovated hotel had modern rooms with the details of home (e.g. my Keurig from home somehow followed to my room.) I can’t say enough about the highly attentive staff that made me and my now husband feel so special, as if the place was all ours and just for us. We were fortunate to work with Theresa Anthony who I connected with immediately. Experienced, confident, caring and energetic – she was responsive, proactive and guided me in the right directions (she’s done this countless times – it was my only wedding). I felt like I made a friend through the planning process. The beach setting and multiple venue options gave us confidence of if we needed a rain option – but none was needed with a perfect October day. We wed on the beach and celebrated at the covered pavilion with café lighting, live band and INCREDIBLE FOOD with about 130 of our family and friends. I’m so flattered to say we’ve had a number of people say it was the best wedding they’ve been to – except for their own, of course  And a key element was the setting and seamless staff. There were multiple options to work with in the planning, so any budget should generally be accommodated. I highly recommend the Sonesta for any bride. Cheers - The Lambs
