We had a room block at the Sonesta for our wedding weekend, and couldn't have asked for better service. Leading up to the wedding, Amy was such a huge help when it came to planning...
, answering our questions, etc. She was so kind and very communicative, often answering my e-mails within just a day or two. We also booked one of the suites to get ready in, which was AWESOME! While we didn't have any events on site, many of our family and friends got together at the hotel bar at night and the staff was great (we were not a small group either lol). If your wedding is in the area, I definitely recommend doing a room block here!!
We very highly recommend the Sonesta in White Plains, NY for your wedding hotel block and events!
My partner and I got married in March 2024, and the team at Sonesta White Plains ...
Downtown helped make our wedding weekend a lot less stressful. For our wedding, we used the Sonesta for our wedding hotel block, as well as for an after party, and we could not have been happier with how everything worked out with our own rooms, as well the after party event, and the customer service onsite was probably the best we have ever experienced. When we first booked with Sonesta, we worked primarily with Amy, the Convention Services Manager, who was not only very professional, but also extremely responsive, as well as accommodating to what we needed for our guests. Amy and the Sonesta team were all very accessible throughout the entire process when working on organizing the specific timeline and requirements we needed. When it came to coordinating the drop-off and dispersal of the welcome bags for our guests staying at the hotel, as well for planning our shuttles to and from the venue, the Sonesta team made everything very simple and practically effortless for us, permitting us to worry about a few less things throughout the weekend.
From the start of our arrival, the staff at Sonesta made us feel as if we were VIPs, despite there being at least two other wedding blocks at the hotel that weekend. When we first checked in, we were immediately greeted by the onsite manager who made sure we had everything we needed and helped us with anything we could. Throughout the entire weekend, the customer service was impeccable, not only for my partner and I, but for all of our wedding guests at the hotel. All of the Sonesta staff were extremely kind and helpful. Additionally, the hotel itself is very nice and clean, and it looked like they had just recently renovated a lot of the various common areas. We also were allowed to use one of their brand new suites as the bridal suite and it was beautiful, and huge! It was also very spacious for the hair & makeup teams in the morning.
When it came to the after party, we worked primarily with Dwight, the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at the White Plains Sonesta, and he was really great. He was tremendously helpful and accommodating when it came to helping us plan the after party, as well as during the event itself. Dwight made sure everything for the party was set up and ready to go before everyone arrived, and he consistently checked-in on us throughout the event to see if we needed anything. Additionally, the food during the after party and ordered as room service was all really good as well.
Overall, we had an amazing stay at the Sonesta White Plains Downtown during our wedding weekend and everything went very smoothly. We really cannot say enough great things about the Sonesta, the management team or the hotel staff at the White Plains location. They were all remarkable and the hotel was exceptional. We very highly recommend the Sonesta in White Plains, NY for your wedding hotel block and any related wedding events!
Sincerely,
Mr. & Mrs. David & Elissa Figueroa

s). During our wedding weekend itself, the staff was friendly, responsive, and accommodating, and guests were able to locate our pre-arranged transportation to / from the wedding easily.
Our challenges with the Sonesta were in the lead up to the wedding. We scheduled a visit to the hotel to view the rooms and see if any suites were big enough to use for the bridal party hair and makeup. When we arrived, we were kept waiting for 45 minutes, the hotel representative who we were supposed to meet with was not there, and by the time someone met us, they said the rooms had just been checked in and we wouldn't be able to see any rooms. We ultimately chose not to stay at the Sonesta because we did not trust that things would go smoothly based on this experience.
We also had a few instances where our booking link wasn't working, and we had to reach out to the hotel to reactivate the link. A few times, the block filled up, and though the sales representatives told us they would monitor the block and add rooms when it was full, this was not the case and we had to manually request rooms to be added several times. It was impossible to get in touch with our sales representative to help navigate these issues - it frequently took calling the front desk directly and leaving several messages before we could get an email or phone call response.
Overall, the Sonesta is a large, convenient hotel for weddings and events in the White Plains / Westchester area. I would recommend booking a larger room block so you don't need to go back and add additional rooms.
We got ready, had a room block and after party at the Sonesta for our Wedding (9/18). We had two bridal suites, both of which were extremely spacious and clean. If we called down f...
or anything, it arrived at the door in minutes. Anna was very helping in getting everything organized before our big day. Dwight did a fantastic job with organizing our after party and the food. He was also extremely sweet and professional. We felt like we were in such great hands with him helping us. Thank you so much Sonesta!
I like to give this hotel the benefit of the doubt with the current circumstances of labor shortages. It’s truly a beautiful hotel! I (bride) got married at the end of June 2022 an...
d they had numerous other wedding parties using the hotel as well. Although I did not have my room block here, I used the Sonesta for their 12th Floor Executive Suite to have my bridal party get ready for my wedding (hair & makeup). Because there is no bathroom in this suite, I stayed in the room next to the suite the night before with late check-out, so I was the first to arrive at the suite at 9AM and it was HOT in the room (at least 80 degrees). All the shades were open where the sun was rising, and all the lights were on, so I immediately pulled down all the shades and turned off the lights in hope this would help cool down the room. I’m not even sure why all of this wasn’t shut down from the last group they hosted in this room. There was only one built in AC/heat unit in the corner of the room which was blowing cool air but only straight up which did not accomplish the job. The front desk had stand up fan units delivered and pulled in to help, but that also didn’t get the job done. We had to open the double doors to the hallway where it was MUCH COOLER, exposing what was going on in our private Executive Suite to the guests on that floor. We called again for further help, so they had their maintenance technician add a piece of scrap metal to redirect the air flow towards the remainder of the room. I’ll say they tried what they can, but after 6 hours, the room did not get to the temperature we had anticipated. On top of the Executive Suite air conditioning problem, we had catering booked with a deposit down to serve breakfast and champagne for everyone we accommodated. This was scheduled to arrive at 9:30 AM but did not show. At about 11AM we called yet again to check up, they were unfamiliar with our request. We had to pull up our email confirmation to which then the catering manager realized he completely forgot about this reservation. They were very kind in accommodating with extra gifts and reimbursement for the inconvenience with everything arriving as soon as possible, which was still 2+ hours after the anticipated scheduled time. Aside from the issues keeping track of all the weddings going on at this busy season, and the issues with our Suite, the hotel is truly stunning, clean, and all services from the front desk to the catering manager and reservation specialists were fantastic. I hope and have faith that they can do better!
I had my wedding ceremony, reception, and room block at the Sonesta and everything went perfectly! I worked primarily with James for the wedding coordination and James coordinated ...
me with Bangu for the rooms. The staff was always professional, and even though there were other events happening, they always made me feel like I was the only one that mattered in our conversations. Amy and Carol Ann helped the night before and day of my wedding with letting me set up my ceremony space and providing me with anything I (and the other girls) needed to get ready the morning of the wedding. I ended up taking the studio space on the lower level since I never got a tour of the parlor upstairs prior to wedding day. It all worked out perfectly though because the studio was more than enough space to accommodate about 10 of us girls. They even accommodated my dog being in the wedding to walk down the aisle! I couldn’t have asked for more. Also, the entire night (and even a week later at this point) my guests raved about how much they loved the Sonesta and how professional they were. Some of my family members even took their information in hopes to host future events there.
My wife and I used the Sonesta in White Plains as our hotel both for ourselves and our guests, we also hosted after drinks at the hotel bar and a brunch at the hotel breakfast (we ...
did not have the actual wedding at Sonesta). The staff at the hotel were extremely communicative (special thanks to Amy for handling so many questions with so much grace). The largest suite was the perfect size for the bride and her group to get ready, the smaller suites were a little bit awkwardly laid out and small. The hotel handle the vendors coming in and out of the hotel with ease. The bar was the perfect place to host an after drinks celebration and they even stay open and extra hour for us.

om block coordination. I cannot say enough about this venue and how incredibly happy we were with their service. From start to finish, they were extremely helpful, flexible and easy to work with. The food was phenomenal, and our guests were extremely pleased with everything provided! Highly recommend!
There are only two positives that I can say about this hotel: 1) the convenience of the location to my venue and 2) the bridal suite was large enough to accommodate me, my girls, t...
he moms and the hair and makeup artists while getting ready the morning of my big day. Parking in the garage is not included which was a frustrating charge I was not made aware of before arriving the day before my wedding. Also the room rate price did not include any taxes or fees so my guests were given a bigger bill than expected. The hotel is nice overall but not as nice as the high price would suggest. Also while planning everything I was shunted off on multiple people which just wasn't a great feeling. I let my venue know about these issues as well so that they can let other brides be aware.
