I am so happy we chose Marti to do our ceremony. She holds onto so much compassion and empathy, from taking the time to really get to know us, guiding us through the confusing and ...uncertain logistics of the ceremony, and personalizing our ceremony in a way that radiated understanding of us as a couple. Her genuine humanistic approach really shone through.
As a couple, we went into ceremony planning with virtually zero idea on how a ceremony looks or runs. We had a LOT of questions, blank spots, and confusion about just about everything, and Marti helped us work it all out. She not only talked us through the formalities, but she gave us clear options that relieved a huge weight off our shoulders. Everyone knows that at a certain point in wedding planning, decision fatigue takes over, and so I am so thankful that Marti took the time to get to know us and then gave us very personalized and clear options to work from, accepting and giving feedback throughout the process. She helped ease our nerves on the day of the wedding and gave us very sound advice on things we envisioned but couldn’t facilitate logistically.
Working with her felt like working with a long-time friend. She is easy to talk to, reflective, professional, and has a lot of knowledge about not only ceremonies, but also people and what they value.
After meeting with her twice and talking through our story as a couple, our personal and shared values, and our goals for marriage, Marti crafted a ceremony that I don’t think any other person could have don’t quite as elegantly. She took extra time to learn and intertwine our two (very) different cultural backgrounds into something that reflected our relationship perfectly. We requested a non-religious ceremony with some religion-based practices (a complicated feat) and Marti blew us out of the water. She facilitated a brilliant saptapadi ceremony, voicing the 7 vows in a tangible and grounded way that reflected our life together and translated beautifully for our unfamiliar guests.
Everything about Marti’s approach and presence is warm and welcoming. At no time did I feel uncertain about her role in our wedding. I would recommend Marti to ANY couple who is looking for an officiant that feels like a friend and cares like a family member, and anyone looking for guidance on their own ceremony. We are so happy to get to call her a friend.
