Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse

I chose SB as our caterer because my husband and I were on a budget as we were paying for the wedding; I ended up going with the 3 meat special and paying about $10 per person... I had never eaten at SB so I went right before I booked them and the food was AMAZING, they set it up so that I could try everything offered for FREE before I scheduled them. Once I tasted the food I knew we were making the right choice for our outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. I cannot believe how many compliments I received on the food - everyone was absolutely amazed with the food, it was so delicious!!!! My only complaint was that I went through SB for the bartenders and they put a TIP JAR on the table, I only provided wine and beer; I had already let the catering coordinator know that I was tipping the staff and before the wedding began I signed the ticket with the final bill and the tip amount. So I kinda flipped when my brother told me there was a tip jar at the bar; I was at my wits end and I took the jar and shoved it in their face and told them NO ( I admit not my finest moment but I was so stressed and pi**ed that I snapped); my MOH then proceeded to explain that this was not acceptable and was essentially a slap in my face. So after that incident there were no issues, and the person in charge that night even came and apologized to my mother. After the wedding I proceeded to email the catering coordinator and explain my frustrations, and they stated that this would be addressed immediately and that was indeed tacky and they were very apologetic. So all in all I would definitely recommend SB for catering - as the food is indeed delicious, but I would talk to the person in charge at the site and lay out the ground rules before everyone gets there.
