Sonshine Barn Wedding & Event Center

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the “farmhouse” with our wedding party and loved having access to the basketball court and ping pong table the night before the wedding. It was also very convenient being on the venue property for getting ready the next day. The staff was very kind and helpful.

She was our decorator and day of coordinator, she went above and beyond to make our vision a reality. The venue itself was truly a dream! We had access to the clubhouse and farmhouse Friday-Sunday giving us so much time to connect with our bridal party and family! These memories created were priceless! We loved being able to spend the night before all together with the people we loved most- allowing for such a special evening/morning leading up to the wedding! The bridal suite was a perfect place for the girls to get ready! Sarah’s coordination day of were flawless, she handled the flow of the ceremony and reception so that my husband and I could soak it all in without a single worry. We are grateful for her passion and dedication to ensure every couple getting married has the wedding of their dreams. We couldn’t imagine a more perfect place to get married.

We toured this venue actually while it was winterized and even then it was breathtaking and we knew before we left the driveway we had found our venue. The luxury of housing all of our wedding party and much out of state family on the property and at the corner house was wonderful. We stayed Thursday-Sunday and it made for a weekend of fun, relaxation, and so many memories. We are from down state and Sonshine was so accommodating to the distance and helping us from miles away. Our decor coordinator Sarah made all of our wildest dreams for decoration come true and MORE! You name it, she either has it or will do everything in her power to make it happen. Our day of coordinator Rachel became like a best friend. She checked in on us and our planning frequently, and then all weekend long made everything run so smooth. Even when we had torrential downpour on our wedding day, she made it all happen. I could go on forever about this place and ALL of the staff, but for now just look forward to our next event or vacation spent at Sonshine. Thank you for making our day/ weekend a DREAM! 🤍

Sarah did our decorations and the barn on the day of was more then I ever hoped for! Sarah was always just a text away. The house/clubhouse is amazing for all the bridal party. They were always willing to answer my questions and go above and beyond to make my special day perfect. The barn is absolutely gorgeous and there are so many decoration options to cater to each and every bride. The bridal suite in the barn was such a nice touch for all of my bridesmaids and family members to get ready and spend the morning of the wedding together. We had to move our ceremony inside because of the weather and I appreciate how helpful Toree was and how easy she made the switch. The farmhouse for the bridal party to stay in is one of my favorite parts of the venue. There are tons of bedrooms with a bathroom in each bedroom. It was so much fun to stay with all of my friends and family for the whole weekend and be within walking distance of the barn. We received nothing but positive feedback from all of our guests about how gorgeous the venue was and how kind staff members were. I truly can’t put into words how fantastic the Sonshine Barn is. Our wedding was perfect and I wish I could relive it over and over again! Thank you to Jessica, Toree, Veronica and Nancy and everyone at the Sonshine Barn that made our wedding day so special. You all will forever hold a special place in our hearts! If you are looking for a gorgeous barn in Northern Michigan with room for all of your friends and family to stay for the entire weekend, then this is it!

In addition to the beautiful barn for your wedding and reception, you get the clubhouse with a basketball court and putting green, and the farmhouse that slept our family and bridal party. And not only do you get all this, you get it ALL WEEKEND, Friday-Sunday with the option to add more nights if needed. We got to host our rehearsal, welcome party, wedding, and morning after brunch all on property. And just when it sounds too good to be true, they also provide you a day of coordinator (Veronica was INCREDIBLE) that will work with you the months leading up to your wedding. They own V&S Rentals who own all the beautiful decorations needed for your special day. You are able to rent everything out from them and they organize and set it all up for you. There is no better place to get married! If you are looking for the perfect barn style wedding venue in Northern Michigan, you have found it!

Toree, the day planner went above and beyond and made sure everything was perfect for us and Sarah and Veronica, did an amazing job with the decorations in the barn. All are guests were amazed at the beauty of the barn. There is not enough space here to describe how amazing this venue really is. Besides being stunning, the barn gave us amazing photos, enough room for all of our guests and provided an inside and outside ceremony option. That was very beneficial for us because it was down pouring the day of the wedding (I hope it was good luck)! Out of all the barns we toured, this one really stood out to us! A little pricy, but SO WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Our wedding was phenomenal not only for us, but for everyone that attended! The bathrooms are spacious, the bar is huge, and the dance floor is perfection. If you’re having a barn wedding and are a little bougie then this location is perfection! Sarah and her crew are amazing to work with and the location is absolutely perfect!! As soon as my then fiancé and I stepped into the barn it instantly took our breath away and gave us chills. We knew that is where we wanted to become husband and wife and start our new beginning. It was a night to remember and a night we can’t wait to tell all of our kids about!! I wish I could give Sonshine Barns more than 5 stars!! Book your tour, because when you walk into the barn you will fall in love!!

The house you stay in all weekend is wonderful and is stocked with all appliances you would need and your guest will LOVE IT. I am about 2 weeks out from my wedding day and people still are talking about how wonderful the entire experience was and jokes that me and my husband needing to have another wedding because they had so much fun! Brides, I know a day of coordinator does not seem that big of a deal but oh my gosh I don’t think I stressed one time because of Toree. She got EVERYTHING me and my husband needed that day and I could have not done it without her. I always will recommend this venue to everyone I know because it is not only stunning but such an easy and fun experience!

te and is the perfect place to get ready. It is very spacious, photogenic and comfortable. They supply plates, cups and other items to keep the focus on the wedding day. This bridal suite allowed us to have the hair and make up vendors on site. The bridal suite allows you to have a full salon experience without having to leave the venue. For the Groom and his party, there is plenty to do on site especially in the clubhouse. They have a half-court basketball court, putting green, ping-pong table and more. The clubhouse can only be described as a man cave. Although one of the bathrooms in the clubhouse was out of commission and we decided to get ready in the farm house, this would be a great place to get ready. The farm house that comes with the package is fantastic! This is the best place to stay as you are able to have your entire bridal party on the venue throughout the weekend. It is beautiful and is equip for 24 people or more if you supply the extras. We were able to have our rehearsal dinner on-site as they supply tables and chairs as well as a full kitchen and grill. In the farm house they have the perfect newlywed suite. The bathroom has a stand up shower with two shower heads and a beautiful tub for a soak after your big day. This was the best way to celebrate together as new husband and wife. We decided to rent the farm house one more night as we had Memorial Day the following Monday. This gave us some time to really soak in the venue without the distraction of entertaining others. We cannot thank our wedding coordinators enough. They have multiple and without a doubt they will all make your day stress free. Personally, Alexis and Jaclyn made sure everything was perfect. We had ideas in our heads about how we wanted decor and pictures, with their twist they helped make it even better. If there is one thing I will always remember from the wedding is nothing went wrong, or Alexis and Jaclyn handled it without us realizing. Another addition they offered is called the Corner House. This is a house that is within walking distance of the venue. In our case the bride’s parents rented this house. This gave them a great experience as they were basically on-site. If you are looking for the perfect wedding, you have to have it at Sonshine Barn Wedding and Event Center.

amazing. Anything you could think of that you could want or need for your big day, they have. Having the farmhouse, clubhouse and barn all on the same grounds was so convenient. Also, having access to the grounds all weekend was another plus. You didn’t just celebrate one day, you got to celebrate all weekend long. I can’t say enough about how thankful we are a wedding planner was included. Amber was our savior all weekend long, she was beyond helpful and was a major contributor to our successful day. We can’t say enough great things about her. This is a wedding venue you must check out!

The Sonshine property was exactly what we hoped for- a beautiful place to host family and friends all weekend long... and that is exactly what we did! We welcomed all our guests for a BBQ dinner following our rehearsal. The lawn between the house and clubhouse was perfect for setting up tables and chairs and there was plenty of room for the food truck and buffet! Sarah also went above and beyond for our welcome dinner- clipping some flowers around the home to add to our simple centerpieces. When day turned to night, the bistro lights twinkled above us as we reminisced with friends old and new. The convenience of having everyone in one spot made our wedding day a breeze. The guys hit up Treetops early in the morning as us girls made the quick walk from the house to the bridal suite. All the while, some loved ones cooked up a full breakfast buffet in the house to bring over as we got dolled up. Our guests remarked all evening long about what a gorgeous property it was- allowing them to catch up with friends outside, take a walk around the grounds or join folks on the dancefloor. We capped off the night with a fireworks show that lit up the fields and the resulting pictures are breathtaking. The Sonshine crew also helped with the coordination between the fireworks team and the local fire department. As most brides say, the only thing I wish is that we had had more time. The day was a blur, yet not once did I have to stress about a single thing thanks to Sarah and her team. We are so grateful for the Sonshine Barn crew. From a year-long postponement to all the changes due to COVID to finally celebrating our big day, I wouldn't have wanted to do it with any other team at any other venue!

was amazing to be able to wake up the morning of my wedding and not have to rush to a different location. If the venue itself doesn’t sell you, then the on-site day of coordinator should. I had the honor of having Veronica assist me with my wedding. My wedding would’ve been absolute CHAOS if we didn’t have Veronica organizing, keeping us on schedule, speaking with the vendors, fixing flower crowns, adding flowers to my cake, chasing after groomsmen, etc. I got to have the day I’ve always dreamed of thanks to Sonshine Barn!

We stayed Thursday-Sunday for our wedding weekend and it was amazing to be able to have our entire bridal party stay right there next to the barn. One of our favorite parts about the venue is having the farmhouse right next to the barn and being able to spend more time with our family/friends, making it into a long weekend event. We even had our rehearsal dinner right at the farmhouse. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding weekend and I cannot thank everyone from the barn enough for making our wedding day a dream come true. The barn is absolutely stunning and we have received so many compliments from our wedding guests. I would recommend this wedding venue to anyone, as it was truly a dream come true!

Amber did an amazing job keeping me from becoming a “bridezilla.” She was always a step ahead of me and was always there with a positive attitude. ! Every person from the grounds crew to the wedding planners are amazing! They are kind, passionate and so much fun! They made every vision and dream of our wedding come true! The farmhouse is such a nice feature for both families to stay and celebrate at! We added a few nights stay at the farmhouse since we were having so much fun having both the Groom and Brides family together! We also rented to house across the street for some of our bridal party which was nice that they could just walk across the field! The grounds are amazing and everything is kept up and clean! Spotless! The boys loved playing basketball in the grooms suite and all of the bridesmaids comfortable fit in the bridal suit! I could not have visioned a more perfect day! Veronica was our party planner and I teared up saying goodbye to her! She and her husband were amazing! So very helpful, detail oriented and kind! Do yourself and your family a favor and book the Sonshine Barn for your wedding! You will not regret it!

then, and magical last Saturday. After three date changes due to Covid their dream wedding became a reality due to the amazing vendors, but mostly our wedding planner Veronica and her husband. From the moment we met, we knew we were in good hands but the professionalism and love we felt was far above our expectations. Veronica is a pro and guided us throughout the process, from the rehearsal , through the ceremony and into the evening. She delivered bagels for the bridal suite, pizza for late night guest snacks and even brought the bride and groom snacks from their cocktail hour as she knew they were being photographed. During the ceremony as Veronica was cueing the bridal party, her husband was behind the barn door with Taylor and her dad taking pictures. They are some of our favorites! They helped clean up and were there to the very end. Veronica even returned the next morning with hugs for the bride and groom, which really warmed my heart. I cannot say enjoy about this venue. It was beautiful and made our kids dreams come true. Thank you all for a very special weekend!
