Such a fun band! The vibes were right and the party didn’t stop.

Best Wedding Band! We had the absolute best time dancing the night away thanks to Souled Out! They had everyone on the dance floor the entire night thanks so their enthusiasm, interactions with guests, and of course great music selections. We will be forever grateful for Souled Out for helping to create the wedding night of our dreams!

Souled Out/The David Mouton Experience is the best event band you could hire! I could not recommend Souled Out/ The David Mouton Experience MORE for your wedding or party. They were professional, incredibly talented, and more than I could have wished for our wedding. The music was soulful and funky, every band member was so incredible, they really bring an amazing New Orleans flare to their performance. They were all so nice and approachable. They brought and setup all of their equipment and literally played the house down. I wish it would have lasted forever. Hire them for everything before they get famous!

All of my wedding guests had the BEST time with Souled Out! Dave was very professional and responsive and made sure he had all of the information he needed from me before the big day. He played all the right music and read the crowd perfectly!! All ages were having a blast on the dance floor and were raving about the reception days after! I am so glad we chose Souled Out to play at our reception for our special day!!

BEWARE— inquire about double bookings prior to hiring! For starters, we have seen Souled Out perform on prior occasions and they have been fantastic, however this was not the case for our wedding day in January. We had multiple issues with the band that led us to write this review. We paid $8500 for our 4 hour reception + ceremony music and we felt they did not live up to their price or standard that they advertise. 1. The band had another wedding the same night as ours and we were not informed of this fact. They got the singer we specifically requested, as well as the extra horns (including the owner with the saxophone). We only had 7 band members and not 10 like we expected. Only 1 horn and 1 female singer. 2. The owner ditched and left right before the ceremony and told my wedding planner on a whim. She then had to coordinate someone to play our ceremony music as their sound tech would not play it (even though we paid for this service). The venue staff had to jump in and coordinate our music. 3. Poor communication throughout the planning process. We practically had to beg to get a phone call in. Finally got in touch with owner to review our questionnaire that they requested 3 days before the wedding. Our questionnaire included first dances, specific song requests, & a “do not play” list which clearly was not reviewed by the band prior to our wedding. Or perhaps this was because we relayed all of this information to the owner who did not pass along that information and was not present during our ceremony or reception. 4. Technical difficulties! During their scheduled break, we sent over our pre-made Spotify playlist which was the band’s preferred music platform. They were unable to play it smoothly with various glitches and several minutes of silence and start/stop music. As it turns out, you cannot play 2 playlists from the same Spotify account at the same time. Apparently the other wedding was on a break at the same time. One of our GUESTS had to assist with the issue. If you “always book 2 events on the same night” (as we were told after the fact) you should have already known and anticipated that fact. 5. The band did not announce that our second line was happening after the reception, therefore some of our guests missed the entire thing. They even tried to stop playing 15 minutes early. 6. Contacted the owner after the wedding to relay our frustrations, and we were told that we would receive a partial refund since we clearly cannot redo our wedding. We followed up 2 weeks later and were then told to wait until the end of the month. It has been nearly 2 months now and we haven’t heard back since. Like I said before, we have seen them before and they have been great which was our reasoning for hiring them in the first place. But even some of our guests who have seen them perform as well commented on how it wasn’t the typical Souled Out high energy that they have seen in the past. I do not want to discredit the band members who did show up as they did perform, however we were just expecting a male vocalist and other horns as well. We also paid for 10 vendor meals, and had to increase our stage size and our dance floor size ($$$) to accommodate their full band which was an unnecessary cost addition. If we would have known that there were 2 weddings on the same night and we wouldn’t get the full band experience, we simply would not have booked Souled Out.

My wife and I saw a Souled Out performance years ago when we first began dating. I remember being so impressed with their performance that I knew I would have them play at our wedding! We danced all night and had so much fun at just a local bar concert. Fast forward many years later and many other opportunities to listen to different bands. Some at the same venue, some at other venues, and others at different weddings. None made the lasting impression Souled Out did for me. I’ve always loved horn bands and man do they get the job done. Seven years later I proposed to my wife, shortly after we picked the venue, but I wouldn’t commit to a date until I made sure Souled Out was available. I reached out to Souled Out via social media and was contacted shortly after by David Mouton. He asked me some questions regarding what we were looking for and I told him the story. He wanted to give us the same experience we had on that night we first heard them. We booked them immediately. Then we had to wait a year for the actual date! Before the wedding, we were surprised when they announced they would be performing at the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival. This was a little closer to our house than their hometown, so we were able to travel to see them from the first song to the last! Once again, a stellar performance! On the wedding day the band arrived well ahead of time, all of them were dressed to impress! My wife had some special songs she wanted for the wedding ceremony and David was able to accommodate us. As for the reception, my wife and I danced all night long and my guest had a blast! I can’t recommend them enough! Book them! Souled Out’s saying is “We are the party” and I couldn’t agree more!

I debated writing this review but felt the need to for weeks now especially now that I received my wedding video. When we got engaged, it was no question we were booking souled out. We had seen this MULTIPLE times and the energy and performance was unmatched. They played music for all ages and we truly enjoyed when they performed. Fast forward to my wedding on November 11, 2022 and disappointed was an understatement. The week before we had sent in a request list of songs we enjoyed that we have heard them play before. The night of my wedding none of the songs were played and I re-requested them during my reception. The band wasn't even playing an hour and my guest overheard them already talking about if it was time for a break yet. The band took a 40 minute break and played a so call "playlist" while they took this break. Mind you, My contract stated a 30 minute break or two 15 minute breaks. No one was next to the computer to manage the music that was being played. My dance floor was completely empty and people were beginning to become upset. My photographer went find the band twice to change the music which no one came until me, the bride, finally walked outside to complain and made someone come in which I received attitude for. The band played brickhouse three times and the singer at points was literally yelling/singing, I guess you would call it, into the mic at points to make the songs last longer. My husband and mother were furious. People at my reception began to talk and questioning if I even booked the right souled out. I called the manager the day after to state my concerns which was pushed aside. He then notified me that the girl lead singer was sick and could not make it. This was information was released to me the DAY AFTER. He came up with every excuse in the book and stated he would watch the tape and get back with me. He also stated he was not there but a band should be able to put a good performance without their manager. My mom called a few days after me also to complain stayed and on the phone with the manager for at least an hour. Again, every excuse stating the band did a "good job" it just wasn't what we wanted to hear YET I payed for this band and music I wanted should have been played. My dance floor should have never been empty; my guest are party type people. The next weekend they played at a wedding 45 minutes north of me and multiple people at my wedding didn't believe that it was even the same band. The bride was pulled on stage; the energy was amazing. It's just disappointing as a bride to watch exactly what you wanted and pay for happen not even a week later. We watched our wedding video and instantly was upset all over again. So as bride, be careful when booking them. I hope they play for you like they portray on the internet because I surely didn't get that for my wedding.

I have been sitting on this review for over a year, and honestly I’m afraid to say anything that isn’t a gleaming review bc the owner, David, does not take criticism very well. Without going into every little detail I feel like fell flat, we booked Souled Out for our wedding and there were a couple late performers, and when we were ready for our first dance (which were not live songs, they only required a press of a play button) David’s response was “weddings aren’t normally on time”. My husband and I spit outside in the cold for 20 minutes for him to get our first song playing. Not only was our first dance song not ready to play on time but my husbands dance with his mother song (also not live) didn’t play until an hour into our reception which took away from our schedule for him and I to eat together. When booking, David guaranteed we would meet prior to our wedding to go over logistics, so things like this didn’t happen, and that never occurred. We were emailed a song request list and form after asking him to go over the night beforehand several times. I have seen them perform prior to this and the energy and performance was great, but for us it was just flat. I never felt like a priority ever after bringing my concerns to him after our wedding. I would have felt a lot better had the owner not dismissed our concerns and made us feel listened to, and trying to discuss the ways in which we weren’t happy with his actions afterward really went sideways. He wouldn’t listen and didn’t care. The actual performance was fine, but the organization and the treatment we received was sub par. Several of our vendors took note of the lack of professionalism and backed us up that this was far from industry standard.

There are just truly not enough words to describe how amazing Souled Out is and how grateful we are to have had them as a part of our day! They brought the party and kept the dance floor rocking from beginning to end. They also played at each of my cousins weddings in 2018 and 2020, and they are consistently PHENOMENAL! Dave is kind and communicative, very easy to work with. We HIGHLY recommend Souled Out for any wedding or event you may have!

One of the best vendors you can hire to provide entertainment and a party vibe to your event. Our wedding guests loved them and they coordinated a private last dance where they performed“Can’t Help Falling in Love” and moved my groom and me to absolute tears. Run, don’t walk, and book Souled Out for your wedding! I first saw them at a wedding four or five years ago, and that was when I knew I wanted them for my own wedding when the time came. Our wedding was nearly two weeks ago, and we are still hearing from guests that are telling us how awesome the band was. They kept the party going all evening and kept the energy up, which was very important to us. They were extremely flexible to work with through two venue changes, one due to COVID and one due to weather (the week of the wedding). We couldn’t have been happier with our choice to go with Souled Out!

When Ryan finally proposed (after 8 years) I knew Souled Out would be providing the entertainment for the night. Who else could possibly do the job, when Ryan was the one up their entertaining people with them for 14 years. After attending countless Souled Out shows, I knew exactly what songs I wanted and they delivered. Ryan was even convinced to take over the mic for the epic rap battles that commenced. Souled Out is always a good time, from their song choices to their dance moves to their crowd interaction. Souled Out made our reception the party it was meant to be.

Souled out was so much fun to have at our wedding. They kept everyone out on the dance floor all night long and made sure we all enjoyed ourselves. Everyone keeps raving about them a week later. If you’re considering them, book it! They without a doubt made my wedding the best night of my life.

When I got engaged I HAD to have Souled Out play at my wedding. We chose my wedding date around Souled Out’s schedule. Then, when the pandemic forced me to change my wedding date AGAIN we chose an alternative date that allowed us to have Souled Out. They surely did NOT disappoint! These guys got the party started early and kept it going all night long! They interact so well with the crowd and match the energy. They could have played for 6 more hours and the dance floor would have remained packed. Our guests kept asking who my band was and telling us how much fun they were! Everyone had a BLAST and these guys exceeded my expectations! Dave was easy to work with, accommodating, and professional. If you are trying to decide on a wedding band BOOK THEM and FAST. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Souled Out was absolutely AMAZING! The dance floor was packed from the beginning to the very end! All of our friends and family danced All. Night. Long. thanks to Souled Out. We had friends and family members talking about our reception even weeks after our wedding! The manager is very easy to get in touch with and so personal on the phone, which helped ease a lot of wedding planning stressors. During the reception, he found me on the dance floor to check in and I respected that so much. He really cares about what is important to the couple. We told him from the beginning that we love a good party and love when bands interact with the crowds, and they did just that! This band is truly all around amazing! What really topped off the night was when my father came up to dance with me and he raved about how our reception/the band was the most fun he has ever had. You should just go ahead and book Souled Out before you even get engaged because you don't need question who you want bring the party for you and your guests on your big day.

Souled Out was the best band I have ever seen play at a wedding, and I have been to a lot of weddings. From the song selection, to the environment they create, to their big-time affordability, they truly bring the PERFECT party. People pay twice as much for bands that should not even be in the same conversation as Souled Out. My wife and I couldn’t have been more pleased. All of our guests said the exact same thing. I’ve already had 2 friends book them for their upcoming weddings. I seriously wish we could do it all over again. What a night. Thank you to Dave and the entire Souled Out krewe! Y’all gave us the best night ever. It was FLAWLESS.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars. After doing some research and watching videos of local bands, I was set on Souled Out. The range of songs played kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night. We had so much fun with them and I received tons of compliments throughout the night. They even went above and beyond to make sure to play my favorite song and make it special for us.

We booked this band a year and a half in advance for good reason. We wanted our out of town guests (which was the majority) to get the "true NOLA" celebration for our destination wedding and wanted our special day to be memorable. Souled Out definitely played a BIG part in that as our guests could not stop raving how spectacular our band was. We also hired a second line that did not show up and members of the Souled Out band saved the day by filling in at the LAST SECOND! Dave, the manager was very easy and kind to work with. Not only is the band EXTREMELY talented, but they are EXTREMELY professional. They not only perform music, they interact with the guests as they play. They are easy to get in contact with and also can accommodate your music requests. Look no further. They are WELL WORTH the bang for your buck.

Souled Out was amazing! I highly recommend them for any wedding. They learned the first dance song, the father/daughter dance song, and the son/mother dance song for no extra charge!

I listened to people all night tell me what I already knew...which is Souled Out is the best wedding band they have ever seen! I have had the pleasure of working with Souled Out both professionally as well as getting to experience them first hand at my own wedding. You can believe every word that you have heard about them. Souled Out was my first choice to play at my wedding and I'm so thankful that they were available. The entire band exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Dave was so friendly from the first time that I talked to him and the band even coordinated their breaks with our day of timeline. My husband and I first saw Souled Out perform on our first date and then again at a friend's wedding. I knew after that first time that I had to have them at my wedding whenever that would be. Despite my superstitious beliefs we ended up chosing Friday the 13th of April because it was the only day in April that I could line up the church, band, and venue. I told everyone to bring their dancing shoes and they all said that was by far the best wedding band they've seen EVER!!! Great group of guys to work with. We were told about Souled Out a year ago by our Wedding Coordinator and found out that they were playing at a club near us so we had to check them out. They looked entertaining with the horns and all so we said lets book them. David was fantastic, easy to work with and quick to answer any concerns of ours. Well last night Souled Out played for my daughters reception and they were amazing! Our guest loved them! I heard from so many guest, even the ones that do not dance, how much they were enjoying the band. The energy was phenomenal and the dance floor was packed all night!!! When the time came to say good night no one was ready to leave. Thank You for making their night, a night they will never forget!

Souled Out played for our two daughters’ weddings.  One church, more formal wedding.  This past weekend they played for our daughter’s wedding at the beach.  This band was such a fun part of both.  We got so many compliments on them.  They are not your typical band, they entertain, play the crowd, and most importantly...they play IN the crowd.  They were able to get everyone on the dance floor and keep them there!! Souled Out Brings. The. Party. I first saw them play a friend's wedding before I was even engaged and knew that I wanted them to be at ours! They play fun music that appealed to our guests of all ages and made my dream of people not leaving the dance floor all night a reality. Souled Out is the BEST wedding band in the New Orleans area. As a former competitive dancer and dance teacher, it was important for me to find a band that was a performance band - one that is entertaining, lively, and are true performers. I wanted a band that would get everyone on their feet and make sure they danced the night away - and our dance floor was full of people dancing the entire evening. Souled Out was everything I could have wanted in a band and more! The entire night (and multiple times since the wedding) I was told by my guests that they were the best band people had ever heard at a wedding. Our guests continue to tell me how wonderful of a time they had at our wedding and I know it is because of how Souled Out kept the party going! Jared, Dave, and the guys of Souled Out definitely helped make sure I had the wedding of my dreams. Dave was great to deal with throughout the entire planning process. We love love love this band! My brother had this band for his wedding and we had a blast so we knew who we wanted to play for us from day 1. Many of our families and friends have also hired Souled Out for their weddings and they really know how to get everyone dancing and having fun. The band is very interactive and knows how to have a good time. I have wonderful photos of the brass members mixed in with our guests and everyone looks so happy. Great band!
