About this vendor
Your wedding is one of the few days in your life when every person you love is together in the same room.
That deserves more than someone who shows up to play music.
At Soulful Sounds, Inc., we believe entertainment is about creating an experience that feels effortless at every turn. Every announcement is intentional. Every transition happens naturally. Every song has a purpose. The result is a celebration where you can be fully present, knowing every detail is being handled by a team that cares about your day as much as you do.
For more than 25 years, we have helped couples celebrate one of life's biggest moments with professionalism, preparation, and genuine care. We have never missed a contracted event, and we approach every wedding with the same commitment: showing up prepared, communicating clearly, and delivering an experience that reflects you, not a playlist we used last weekend.
Every couple begins with a Consultation Design Session, where we learn your story, your vision, and the moments that matter most, so that when the day arrives, nothing is left to chance.
Unlike many entertainment companies, you will have both an Entertainment Architect (DJ) and an Audience Engagement Host (MC) working together throughout your celebration. One focuses on the music and atmosphere. The other guides your guests, manages announcements, coordinates transitions, and keeps your reception flowing with intention and grace. That partnership allows every moment, from your grand entrance to your final dance, to feel polished without ever feeling scripted.
Looking for more than music? We also offer elegant enhancements including uplighting, Dancing on a Cloud, cold sparks, custom monograms, and interactive photo booth experiences designed to complement your celebration, not compete with it.
Our goal has never been to be the loudest company in the room. It is to create the room everyone talks about long after the wedding is over.
If you are looking for a team that values preparation, professionalism, and creating celebrations that bring people together, we would be honored to be part of your day.
We believe music connects people before a single word is spoken. We would love the opportunity to create that feeling for your wedding day.

fe! They were AMAZING! Thank you so much for everything!
Jeff and his team at Soulful Sounds are TOP NOTCH.
We recently worked with Jeff and Chris for a Sweet 16 and I can not express enough how remarkable they are. Their services and ...
standards elevated the event to the next level! Their energy kept guests on the dance floor the whole evening and they brought an element of luxury to the party.
Leading up to the event, Jeff was very responsive, helpful and patient. He helped us navigate through the timeline, what announcements we'd like made, and what music was a "must play/don't play". Jeff is talented at mixing music and bringing people together to create memories that last forever. His passion and dedication are evident in his work. We will forever be grateful for his services and be recommending him to everyone!
We can't wait to work with Soulful Sounds again!!
Soulful Sounds does an amazing job of playing the music that everyone wants to hear. They are very professional, organized and easy to work with. They offer cold sparklers that loo...
ked so beautiful on the dance floor. I highly recommend them for all your events. You will be so happy you worked with them.
From start to finish a phenomenal experience. Jeff is a great guy and is very cordial and professional. He did my brother's wedding 10 years ago and still remembered us. Pricing is...
very fair as well. My wife and I are not crazy about loud and crazy wedding dance music. That being said, we requested strictly Motown & 50/60's Music. Talk about an A++ Playlist - we received so many compliments about the music. We requested a handful of specific songs in addition, all of which were played and at the absolute perfect times too! Very accommodating, on time, no issues, great playlist, not too loud, great price....they checked every box. Highly recommend!
It does not get better than this! Jeff is so talented at what he does. From getting the crowd going, to making sure only the best music was played, to keeping the itinerary moving ...
with speeches, etc. he simply is the best. Our families are French, Colombian, Uruguayan, and American and so the music had to please a multitude of tastes and Jeff was spot on with everything. He is a fantastic DJ I would highly recommend!
Soulful Sounds is amazing! We recently hired them to DJ and MC our wedding, and we had such a great time! I first heard of Soulful Sounds when they DJ'd my sister's wedding, and th...
en several times after that at other wedding's I attended. It amazes me how Soulful Sounds is able to cater to each couple's likes/dislikes. Each wedding I have attended has been unique to the couple, but equally fun! We worked with Jeff for our wedding and he was very professional, patient, and accommodating; any question I had, he answered, and any worry or concern of mine was put at ease. I would definitely recommend Soulful Sounds for any event and/or wedding!
The owner was extremely professional, organized and flexible. It was a pleasure to work with him. Also, the music was great! All our guests said they had a wonderful time and my ...

I had already attended three weddings where Soulful Sounds and Jeff were the DJ/emcee so I knew he was a professional and he did not disappoint! Our wedding was outdoors and unfort...
unately mother nature threw us a curve ball and while the weather mercifully cleared up around the time we were supposed to get married, the start of our wedding was pushed back a little bit. While a 15 or 20 minute delay may not sound like a big deal, when everything is so tightly scheduled like it is on your wedding day, it can quickly snowball to the point where you've basically got to throw your schedule out the window. This is exactly what happened to us, and while we were a little nervous and anxious about not having a schedule and "winging it", Jeff didn't blink and had no problems making changes and adjustments right on the spot. He was so fantastic, he even helped us relax and enjoy the moment as we were getting nervous and stressed about the schedule!
Most importantly, of course, we had a great time and all of our guests reported that they had a blast as well. They really delivered for us and I hope to someday attend another event or wedding where they DJ as well
Jeff and his partner are great! I didn’t need to shop around for a DJ because he’s been the family’s wedding DJ since 2012, and he always puts on a good show. Keeps everyone entert...
ained. From what I’ve heard of others people’s weddings.. more on the affordable side as well! He had a detailed worksheet to fill out of names/songs/details... I think this made it especially easy to tell him exactly what we wanted. Very happy we used Soulful Sounds, and we will continue to keep his phone number spreading for all future weddings!
Soulful Sounds definitely added to the amazing event which was my wedding. During the planning Jeff spoke with my wife and I helping us with any questions that we had and made sure...
it was one less thing that we had to stress about. The lines of communication were kept open throughout the entire process. During the reception they got everyone comfortable and helped everyone interact with each other. My uncle who attended was very ill a week before my wedding. When Jeff handed him the microphone he performed like he was on stage at Madison Square Garden. It was such a pleasure working with soulful sounds and i cant wait to hire them for another event. I will also recommend them to anyone looking for a MC and DJ for their events.
DJ Jeff Taylor and his team were one of the highlights of our wedding!! He came highly recommended by our friends so we weren't worried at all. We hired them to take care of both o...
ur ceremony and reception music in Long Island, NY - everything went flawlessly. I had so many people come up to tell me how great he was (even my mom liked Jeff a lot!). EVERYONE had fun during the reception- even the non-dancers- because of Jeff's humor and ability to include everyone (kids and older couples alike). I HIGHLY recommend DJ Jeff and Soulful Sounds if you're looking in the NYC/NJ area!
DJ Osei & MC Raymond were fantastic!! We wanted everyone dancing the whole time and they made that happen!! They are so easy to work with and Jeffrey was on top of everything!!...

e time to ensure we had an amazing wedding day. Every single one of our guests couldn't stop talking about how great and energetic they were. They have done almost all my families weddings as well and we wouldn't have it any other way. Need a DJ? Book Soulful Sounds, like, yesterday. Seriously, go ahead. What are you waiting for?! Thanks again for a great day!
Jeff was the absolute best he was more than just a DJ/ MC. He managed to control the entire reception, including making sure me and my bride ate despite being pulled and pushed in...
every direction. He had the crowd moving from the moment the bridal party entered for the reception. He was attentive before and during our big day and allowed everything to be handled smoothly. He listened to our requests and the music was exactly as how we envisioned. If you are looking for your day to be perfect definitely stick with soulful sounds. Customer service is extremely important to me-I mean extremely, so when I leave a review praising someone-it is because they truly stood out. I highly recommend soulful sounds for any of your events.
No need to shop around... book them! He is professional; plus an amazing host and DJ. If you want a killer party, Soulful Sounds is your vendor. Not only did he immediately get my ...
guests out of their seats and on the dance floor; he made sure all of our needs were met and we stayed on task. Everyone loved Jeff and his team. I will be booking them for all of my future events!

s are religious and kind of dry. Our friends are super fun and love to dance. He knew the perfect mix to please everyone and he did it so professionally.
We even had a couple of special (read: crazy) family members who constantly bothered him for the mic but he handled it so well! We're sorry Jeff lol. I would definitely recommend him and I would definitely hire him again for other parties!! Many of my friends even asked for his info and raved about him.
Thank you Jeff! We had a blast.

month before the wedding I came across Soulful Sounds website. I sent out an inquiry and Jeff got back to me the same day. He asked me a few questions so that he could get an idea of the type of music I was looking for. I didn't have to tell him much for him to come up with a playlist that had my wedding guest on the dance floor all night, which was exactly what I wanted. He was early the day of the wedding, very professional, he interacted with the crowd, and had everyone up and out of their seats. He made sure to check with me and my husband during the reception to ensure we were ready for things like the bouquet and garter toss, the cutting of the cake, and any wedding games we had planned. He catered to me and my husband's needs. I am so happy I chose Soulful Sounds as my DJ. My guests are still talking about how great they were and it's been 2 months since my wedding. If you choose to hire them as your DJ, you will NOT be disappointed!

l and had no idea of why he had to choose someone we knew nothing of. Once Jeff came to our home with his presentation of what he would be able to offer us, two people who have never done anything like this before, we were sold. Here it is three years later and every one of my guest still talk about my DJ far more than my dress or the food (which were both wonderful as well). One of better choice on that blessed day of ours. Thank you.

Jeff. He came to our home and we went over all the details of what he does and what we wanted and we booked him on the spot. On our special day, Jeff was professional and kept everyone on the dance floor. One of our guest booked him for her wedding the following year. Fast forward to July 2015 and I called on Soulful Sounds again for my parents 50th wedding anniversary party. Once again, Jeff and his staff did not disappoint. This time we booked a photographer and videographer with Jeff. The music, pictures and video were perfect. I would definitely use his services again and highly recommend to my friends and family.
Working with Soulful sounds was wonderful. They were punctual, easy going, and most importantly, able to read the crowd and kept the party going. Even though the ceremony, cocktail...
hour, and reception were held at 3 different parts of one venue, Soulful sounds was able to accommodate us accordingly. All of our guests loved the music. We even had a few people come up to us requesting their contact information (including our photographer). Overall Soulful Sounds was awesome and we would wholeheartedly recommend them.
Music is so important to us and Soulful Sounds made our big day even more special by providing attentive, professional service and keeping us dancing all nignt. Highly recommended!

of the crowd, people danced and danced. A good time was had by all. Jeff, was wonderful, helping this frazzled bride select songs before the wedding and manage announcements etc during the event. I don't know how much they cost because their services were a wedding gift, but I think they are more than reasonable.
