I'm a little late to this review, but I wanted to make sure I dedicated the right amount of time to it…
My (now) husband and I put a lot of thought into choosing the right Minis...
ter for our ceremony. It was particularly tricky to choose given our backgrounds. My family is Methodist, and his is Catholic. Neither one of us is practicing (we aren't members of a particular church) and in recent years have become much more spiritual than subscribing to particular philosophies. That being said, we wanted our ceremony to not be overly 'religious' but still spiritual... The readings had to be modern yet still timeless. We also wanted a Minister who was organized, efficient, patient, knowledgeable, friendly, honest, humorous, and so much more, all at the same time...
From our first meeting at Blue Willow, to the day of our ceremony, Amari lead us through everything. She gave us a lot of really good pointers (without being overbearing) and encouraged us to incorporate our own ideas. We left our first meeting with ease, knowing that our ceremony was in good hands.
After the wedding, our guests had nothing but phenomenal things to say. (And our guests’ backgrounds are more dramatically diverse than my husband and mine!) They all felt as if Amari was speaking directly to them. She managed to make them cry AND laugh, and included just the right amount of prayer into our service. Working with Amari was definitely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!
Thank you for our beautiful union, Amari! The ceremony you created for us was a true reflection of our personalities. It was everything we wanted and everything we didn't know we wanted.

ful and perfect. It was as if we had spent months planning it.
For our wedding, we were looking around for a flexible officiant with an open mind. We needed someone who would execute our ceremony exactly how we wanted it to be done, without ju...
dging us for wanting it to be a non-religious ceremony. My wife found Amari Magdalena of Soulmate Ceremonies and asked about pricing and availability. Amari's response was prompt and answered all the questions we had.
Her pricing was a good value considering there are a lot of officiants out there who ask for much higher pricing. She also said she had no problems doing all kinds of ceremonies, so she wouldn't have a problem performing ours. And she meant it! But before we get to the actual ceremony, let's talk about how things went after our initial contact.
Amari and my wife set up a date, time, and place to meet so that we could see each other in person and go over some important details about the wedding. She asked us important questions about who was going to be involved in the actual ceremony, from the wedding party to parents and grandparents, and got everyone's full names down in writing so that she had them. This sort of attention to detail is important to me with things like this, so I appreciated it very much. We paid the first half of our payment during that first meeting since we decided we were going to stick with Amari as our officiant.
From there, especially during the last few weeks leading up to the wedding, Amari was very good with contacting us asking us about all the little details about how we wanted things to go during the wedding. Her communication was prompt and detailed, although we did need to correct her on some names and a few minor details once or twice. This did not bother us because it was an honest mistake and she was very gracious about being corrected. She sent us copies of her documents several times just so we could double check to make sure everything was correct, so we knew we had nothing to worry about!
Amari also took the extra steps to contact the event coordinator at our wedding venue just to get a feel for how they operated and anything they might expect of her. She made sure to arrive at the venue a couple of hours early just to see the place and get a feel for the layout so that she would be prepared once the ceremony started. She had no problems working with the DJ, who set her up with a microphone for the ceremony.
During the actual ceremony itself, she mispronounced my wife's name once, but most people didn't even notice and she did not do it a second time, so it did not bother us. Otherwise, her pace was very good and she handled everything professionally and in the order we had planned without any issues. She made sure she had cards ready for us to read our vows to each other. She did actually hand me the wrong card, the one with my wife's vows to me on it, but it was a moment of humor rather than something that upset us -- what made it funnier was, just before that, when she held out our rings for us to place on each other's hands, I had accidentally grabbed my own ring instead of my wife's, so people were already laughing from my own mistake!
All in all, the best part of working with Amari was her prompt responses and attention to detail. We also appreciated that she made sure that we approved every detail before the ceremony and that things went the way WE wanted them to -- not anyone else. Highly recommended!
