Worth every penny! I'm going to cherish these photos forever. She made the process so incredibly easy and smooth. From engagement photos to wedding day, she gets the most beautiful and memorable shots. I had a very small backyard wedding and wasn't able to find a day of wedding coordinator and without hesitation Julie became my day of coordinator at no extra charge. I'm incredible grateful and happy to have hired someone for my special day that is so passionate about what she does.

Julie and Sophia, the dynamic duo from Sound & Sea Photography, exceeded our expectations. Julie's mastery in photography was evident as she focused on capturing every significant moment. Sophia, handling videography, brought a unique perspective to our memories. Prior to our wedding, we scheduled an engagement photoshoot with Julie, which turned out to be a fantastic decision. It allowed my husband, who had never experienced a professional photoshoot, to get acquainted with Julie's style. She has a keen eye for backdrops and is able to swiftly capture perfect shots while ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable session. Julie's efficiency was remarkable; she not only valued the quality of her work but also our time, allowing us ample time to cherish moments with our loved ones. We could not be more thrilled with everyone at Sound & Sea. From the very start, Julie made us feel so comfortable. From our first communications in getting quotes, to our first shoot for engagement photos, just amazing. And then the day of the wedding, the entire team made everything so easy, it was so fun taking photos and videos with the team. Julie's photos are stunning! She photographed our August DIY-style wedding, and managed to produce photos that captured the beauty of our outdoor venue, the vibrance of our decor, and the natural joy of ourselves and our guests. I love her editing style and love that we got an album of fully unique photos--no duplicates here! My husband and I were running behind the day of (mostly me, trying to perfect my hair & makeup lolol), but Julie still managed to get all the necessary shots and took us through our couple photos, wedding party shots, and family photos with incredible efficiency. She also nudged us when we were running behind on dinner, so we could get our cake cutting and first dance photographed before her departure. Sound and Sea Photography is amazing! Julie and her team (Antonio was our second shooter) are amazing photographers and were able to capture all the key moments. They never forced any photos and got photos that look natural and fun (even if they gave us prompts to do). My husband and I are not naturals in front of the camera but Julie made us more comfortable doing photos than I was anticipating. My wife and I loved working with Julie and Sophia! Julie had fun with our shoots with us and really did a great job at capturing our natural moments. They also did an incredible job of keeping everyone on track with our timeline to keep things moving smoothly while still incorporating a great 'first' first look with my best man prior to the real thing. We asked Julie of Sound & Sea to be a part of our love story, and I still can’t believe how lucky we were to have her. From our February adventure engagement session through our special day in September, Julie was there with an adventurous spirit, calming presence, and unmatched artistic talent to capture exactly who we are beautifully. In February on the washington coast, Julie was so committed to getting the perfect shot she fell into a tide pool, getting completely soaked. She didn’t skip a beat, and just looked up at us after she nailed the shot anyway, with an exuberant exclamation we still laugh about, “THAT WAS SICK!”. As a photographer, Julie was there for the moment, unnoticeable and not disruptive to the magic in the room, but at the same time there just the same with a calming, professional presence. Many times on my wedding day, she took each bump in the road in stride, and helped talk me off the ledge more than once. Having Julie with me was like having a friend there. It was easy to be ourselves with her. Please take a look at her portfolio, the art and talent there needs no explanation and speaks for itself. I cant imagine having anyone but Julie and her team there with us through these moments in out life, and I am forever thankful for her! Julie and the team did everything in their power to make my day special. The attention to detail is unmatched, and they were the best vendors in terms of communication and organization. Our engagement shoot was lovely, and the photos for the day of turned out perfect.

Julie and her team were incredible! We owe so much of the smoothness of our wedding to her extremely helpful direction leading up to the day and firm and prepared guidance on the day itself. She has so much experience and was a fountain of helpful tips which was extra useful to us given we made the decision to NOT use a wedding planner. She came through with extra suggestions that I overlooked simply because I've never planned a wedding before and they helped make the day a breeze. Her team was also quick to pivot when things went awry (as they do!) such as schedule changes, lighting issues, etc. They always had a quick Plan B which is really when their expertise shone through! I think my favorite thing about her was her ability to firmly herd the cats. Let's be honest, on the wedding day everyone is happy, drinking and being silly (cough, looking at you, Groomsmen cough) but we were on a time crunch. She was able to get everyone to quickly focus up and do exactly what they needed to do to keep us on track. This game us more time with loved ones but allowed us to still get all the pictures we wanted :) Selecting her team was easily the best vendor decision we made and seeing our sneak peeks only reinforced it. The candids... the black and whites... I was FLOORED that that was me up there on the screen. THANK YOU for making us look so good and being a breeze to work with. I love working with women who get shit done!

Julie was absolutely amazing. She made our 3 hour session very relaxing. She recommended 4 locations in Seattle that were all very beautiful and classy. We had a little incident during our ceremony and Julie offered us a one-hour session for free! We also love the photos. They were just the right style that we liked!

We worked with Julie on an engagement shoot to get some assets for our save the dates, website, etc. What an absolute pro!! Not only does she have various location information dialed in (we did ours at Discovery Park) but she was so lovely and easy to work with. My fiance and I were at ease and able to really enjoy the experience and have fun doing it. Julie was super communicative the entire time and we are thrilled with how the photos turned out. 5 stars!

Julie was an amazing photographer for us, she brought a wealth of experience and was able to run the show flawlessly. In addition to the photos themselves (which were so beautiful and creative), she provided us with a lot of ideas that helped shape our special day, and even provided us with a recommendation for a day of coordinator who was equally amazing. Julie was willing to work with us to determine the best timeline/price point that fit our actual needs. She didn’t just automatically steer us to the most expensive plan (which was still very well priced), which we appreciated so much! She was also so quick to provide sneak peeks on both our engagement photos and the wedding itself. Julie was the best choice we could have ever made to document our wedding day - both in the experience during (and leading up to) the day, and the incredible quality of shots she delivered to us afterwards. We met Julie when I went looking for a photographer at the last minute..ver last minute! (2 months prior to wedding). Although she was already booked..she was kind enough to work some magic and managed to get us in her schedule because ours was a "micro wedding". We wanted pictures of our pre wedding reception and then the ceremony the next day. She arrived promptly both days and took beautiful candid shots. Then worked with us to quickly take some portraits of various guests, family and friends. The photos came out beautiful and everyone commented on how easy going she is. Ours was a destination wedding in Seattle so I was concerned about finding the right person for our photos. So glad I found Julie! Amazing attention to detail!

Julie and Sophia did such an awesome job as our wedding photographer & videographer! They were organized, professional, responsive and very accommodating for our change in plan (we had to postpone our wedding during COVID). We loved their style - the incredible candid photos and highlight video will for sure bring up good memories every time we go through them with our family and friends. Highly recommend!

I appreciated Julie's professionalism and timeliness in her communication both in the months leading up to our wedding and on the day itself. It really took the guesswork out of everything and allowed us to focus on having fun on our wedding day! The shots Julie and her second shooter, Antonio, took were just amazing and I was really impressed by how they were able to adapt to rapidly changing weather conditions (during our first look and bridal party photos, it was blazing hot and sunny one second, and then windy and rainy the next). They were ready to make adjustments on the go and the photos turned out beautiful. Sophia also made a very touching highlight video for us and our friends have commented as to how unique and beautiful it was. They are a great team and we are happy we got to work with them!

Julie of Sound and Sea and her daughter Sophie (2nd shooter) were absolutely amazing and we cannot recommend them highly enough. Julie sends questionnaires and surveys over email about photo style, family shot-list, your relationship as a couple, and notifications about when payments are due leading up to the wedding. This made the photo prep very straightforward and manageable, and she does a great job of spacing them out in the months leading up to the wedding so you aren't overwhelmed as it gets closer to the big day. On our wedding day, Julie went above and beyond to ensure that we had captured every moment of the day that mattered to us. She was 100% non-judgmental about any requests I made and about complicated family situations, etc. She helped us feel comfortable enough that she could really capture our true selves and our love in a beautiful way. Finally, the photos we got back from Julie were simply incredible. Looking through them was like experiencing the day all over again -- every little detail and sweet moment was captured, often without me even realizing she was there photographing! We really enjoyed working with Julie and Sophie and had an absolutely perfect experience with Sound and Sea!!

We worked with Sound and Sea Photography to photograph our post-elopement wedding reception, and we were delighted by the experience from start to finish. We very intentionally looked for photographers who featured images of gorgeous plus-sized couples on their website and social media, and we fell in love with Julie and her team's style. Working with Julie on planning, admin, and editing was a dream - she is clear in her communication, kind, and an incredible advocate for couples asking for what they want from their wedding photography. After connecting with Julie, we decided to pursue working with one of her fabulous associates, Antonio! Antonio absolutely rocks. Our venue was notoriously dark, and he had already shot in the space and knew how to make our photos shine in the dim light. Day of, he was the perfect photographer. He captured everything we asked him to and more - and he was an absolute joy to have at the party. It really felt like having an incredibly talented photographer friend at the wedding. Antonio was kind and thoughtful in managing our wild families during the posed photos and he was everywhere at once during the cocktail and party hours. The photos turned out gorgeous, lively, and captured the spirit of the party. We wanted a playful documentary-style approach, and we got it. Antonio and Julie are a dream team and we would highly recommend working with them for your wedding. YAY!

We knew early on as we were developing our priorities and budget that photography was amongst the most important things for us for our wedding. We did a fair amount of searching around, looking at styles and packages, and as soon as we found Sound & Sea we just had to reach out. After speaking with Julie we knew it was a perfect match. Julie made us (an extremely awkward couple) so comfortable and collaborated so well with us to work with our ideas for the shot list with her own creative vision. Julie and her daughter were awesome! Julie was so flexible with us when it came to covid and all the questions I had. Things were a bit hectic, we didn't know if we were going to be able to even have all our guests at our wedding due to restrictions. Thank goodness everything worked out and restrictions were lifted. After our wedding day, we waited 10 long long weeks for our photos and videos... but let me tell you... everything came out STUNNING. So worth the wait. I can't explain how lucky we were to have chosen Julie. She was so professional on the day of our wedding. We had some people in the wedding party who weren't cooperating, nosy guests, etc, but she kept her cool the whole time. It was great working with her and her daughter, I've already recommended her to many of my friends getting married in the next few years and I recommend you consider Julie as well. She will not dissapoint!

Julie was great to work with. Super flexible and efficient. She kept in contact with preparing for the big day. Sending emails to ensure that she had all the information beforehand to help the day go smoothly. She also helped to wrangle all of my (very large) family to ensure that we had all of the family pics that we wanted. And she was pretty quick to get our pictures back to us. Our mini engagement session produced so many great photos also. The only thing I wish we had done differently was to pay for the whole 8 hour package. In looking back at the pictures, I realized that I missed photos of some of the dancing due to the time package that we purchased. Thanks again Julie! Much appreciated!

We feel so fortunate to have found Julie, who fit our elopement into her schedule fairly last-minute and was invaluable in helping us find a location and planning the day-of logistics. She knew her stuff, was kind, friendly, and responsive, and she kept everything running smoothly on the day of the wedding. And of course, the photos are amazing! My wife and I got married last Summer. Julie and Sophia were absolutely phenomenal. They were a crucial part of the wedding planning. Julie not only introduced us to most of our other vendors, but also helped us coordinate the wedding ceremony. My husband and I got married summer of 2021 and Julie was by far our best vendor! Photography was important for us and we had been doing our research for months-Julie was by far our favorite :) Not only is she a talented photographer but she is incredibly kind and calm in high-pressure situations (ie: planning a wedding during Covid and dealing with constant change). As a mixed race couple, we had a few multi-cultural events planned on our wedding day and Julie was incredibly supportive, adaptive, and culturally sensitive. We had two ceremonies/events packed into one day for a 10-11 hour day and Julie and her team remained energetic and positive throughout. About a month before our wedding, our wedding coordinator started going dark on us and Julie helped us through this incredibly stressful situation and connected us to another coordinator who was able to step-in last minute. Julie is incredibly resourceful and knows a lot of other vendors (she also connected me to my makeup/hair vendor). Additionally, we booked her daughter Sophia to do videography and I am so glad we did-our wedding video was incredibly unique and gave the viewer the feeling that they were watching a short film about our love story. Julie was lovely! In a year with a lot of uncertainty (2020), our wedding plans changed and shrank several times. Julie was super willing to work with us and even went above and beyond to provide information about what was currently allowed as regulations regarding weddings shifted. Due to the changes in our plans, we didn't end up meeting Julie until the day of the wedding. She handled the chaos of a DIY wedding flawlessly and was so much fun to take photos with. She was willing to go the extra mile in order to ensure we got some priceless pictures. We did not come in with a set idea of which photos we were looking for but Julie helped us and made sure we had the shots we wanted. Anyone who is looking for a personable, talented, and easy going photographer will not be disappointed. Julie and her team were absolute professionals and my wife and I couldn't be happier with the results of our photos. Julie took both our engagement and wedding photos and we've gotten so much praise from our friends and family. As someone who has never had the opportunity to work with a professional photographer, I was a little nervous about the whole process. Posing in awkward positions in front of strangers is not something I was used to but Julie made me feel confident and was great at communicating exactly what she needed from us. Julie worked closely with us throughout the whole process. Due to COVID-19, we had to make lots of last minute changes and decisions and she was so helpful and supportive through that process. Ultimately, we decided on eloping instead of holding a traditional wedding (or postponing to next year) and it was really important to my wife and I that Julie really captured this more intimate wedding ceremony. Not only that, but we also decided to have our ceremony on top of a mountain, which Julie was totally down for. I should also mention that despite the weather being less than ideal, Julie made the best of it and really captured some breathtaking photos. I cannot understate how happy my wife and I are with these photos. Lastly, Julie was on time with everything. When she said she would have things done, they were finished. No excuses! She was very transparent throughout the entire process, letting us know how long she thought things would take and then following up with us without prompt. Julie really is the full package. Not only are you going to get great photos, but you're gonna get a photographer with wit and charm and grace!

With all of the changes that COVID brought to our wedding plans, Julie was always flexible and knowledgeable with what we could do to still make our day special. As for the photos, they turned out to be even more amazing than we could have imagined. Julie did a great job capturing all of our moments and they look stunning on camera. Julie is absolutely amazing. She communicates well, is efficient and professional, and most importantly impeccably captures moments. She was able to be direct and herd my roaming family for group shots. I am not someone who is photogenic and always seem to be at the wrong angle, but somehow, Julie didn't take one bad photo of me. I didn't really notice her on the day of, but somehow, she was everywhere and got every shot and angle. I look at the photos daily, I even showed them to a coworker, and she was brought to tears.
